Zofran (ondansetron) "I get attacks that starts with coughing, that leads to dry heaving and stomach cramps. Always lasts 24 hours (almost to the minute). I have take Zofran and morphine injection for symptoms. Helps some, but not total relief. Wish I had the relief you all get."

"I have suffered with gastrointestinal/irritable bowel syndrome problems for 15 years. This medication is literally a "miracle worker". Anytime I have a flare-up that causes nausea/vomiting, I take one pill of this and I am fine just minutes later. I remember thanking my doctor over and over for finding this medication for me. I agree with others that it makes you a little sleepy (does not knock you out though) and also if you use it several days in a row (which hopefully you do not), it can and may cause constipation. I would recommend this to anyone with frequent and/or recurring GI/IBS episodes."

Zofran (ondansetron) "I had my gallbladder removed and was diagnosed with gastroenteritis almost 10 years ago now! I never quite got better, I still have nausea and gut discomfort to this day but I am sure anxiety has a lot to do with my issues. I take 4mg zofran when I feel really bad and haven't been able to eat. it really relaxes my stomach and allows me to feel like eating again. I have a pre-existing heart issue which doesn't seem to be overly reactive when taking zofran, but I don't take more than a couple pills a week. I also don't feel very dizzy when taking it, and if I did have a headache it doesn't get worse with zofran. Generally helps me more than hinders!"

"Originally I was prescribed this med for the nausea accompanying irritable bowel syndrome, because my nausea was debilitating. Zofran definitely took the edge off. Now I have gastritis which causes nausea and pain. Unlike other patients, I do not get great relief. Sometimes it takes the edge off. Then I am able to eat and drink and be functional. But right now, the pain and nausea of the gastritis has trumped the med, I feel pooly."

"I have a condition called gastroparesis and for three years I was in bed for 3 to 5 days a week vomiting all day. I didn't have a life, it was slowly killing me. My doctor give me every kind of medicine to try with no relief. Then she give me Zofran and it was a miracle for me! I take 8 MG and I still will occasionally be nauseated, sometimes with vomiting but as of now it's been six weeks and then it was only for a few hours. If anyone has suffered from this it is horrible! I realize it may not work for everyone but I was totally at the end of my rope and this saved my life! I do have to take a laxative once in a while but I'd rather do that then living the way I was!"

"So I’m in day 3 now of Gastroenteritis, which has been a lovely experience…. After waiting in an urgent care for nearly 5 hours, my area is inundated with COVID, I got 30 seconds to a minute and a half with a doctor! Hooray. Doc looks me over briefly, hears my story and prescribes ondansetron. Finally some relief? No such luck. This medication did absolutely nothing to alleviate my symptoms but on the bright side I was left with a splitting headache for the rest of the night. Cause you know, that’s good."

Zofran (ondansetron) "I’m inpatient for severe nausea and have been given Zofran but I just read the info on this med and the action and side effects are almost what I’m trying to overcome. It was a blessing because it works really well I think it was IV but it may be making me confused dizzy vision blurring maybe jaundice I’m not going to take it any more"

"I was recently diagnosed with cyclic vomiting syndrome at the age of 21, Zofran has literally saved me. It works within 30 mins, and helps me recover so fast. I originally was throwing up over 10 times within a few hours every 2 weeks for multiple days at a time, it was horrible I was losing weight and scared to eat, now with zofran I can stop an episode. It’s literally life saving, I don’t know what I would do without it."

Zofran (ondansetron) "I got prescribed zofran as needed for Nausea. I got diagnosed with GERD/GI problems and reflux which is causing all of the nausea. My PC recommended zofran to help nausea and to be honest, this does not help at all with the nausea and queasy feeling. Zofran also has serious side effects and I have noticed that I get very dizzy and lightheaded a short time after taking the medication. I was out to dinner once and took zofran before dinner because I felt awful. That was not a smart idea because I thought I was going to pass out at dinner since the side effects are so extreme. Do not take this medication long term unless you have a reason to because the side effects are kind of dangerous even if used for a short period of time. Be very careful when taking this medication. I stopped taking it because of the severe side effects and the fact that it was not helping my symptoms.."

"Excellent antiemetic. It’s side effect of constipation works well in controlling acute episodes of gastritis/IBD. Constipation may last for 2-3 days when using as an antiemetic alone."
