Xolair (omalizumab) for Asthma, Maintenance: My son's life is a lot better now that he is receiving this treatment. Why is this medication so expensive? We are on a scholarship through a hospital. My son started treatment in FEB 2009 and his absent rate has gone down. We were in the emergency room too many times. The schools in LA County were going to call the D.A. even, with legal doctor's notes. This medication has helped us that my son went from a "D " to an "A " and honor roll!

Xolair (omalizumab) : After moving into a new home, secretly harboring mold, my asthma became uncontrollable. I was using several inhalers, prednisone, allergy medicines, nebulizers, etc. I gained 20 pounds because I was unable to function and do anything. My doctor (my angel) did allergy testing and started me on Xolair and allergy shots. Within 3 weeks I was down to using only Advair and occasionally Proventil. It really is an amazing drug, and it has been my saving grace. I can play with my kids, run, ride bikes, hike, etc. I have been on Xolair now for almost 6 months. I take the maximum dose of 3(150) injections every other week, with 3 allergy shots weekly. I feel amazing! I even walk a mile each way to the doctor to get my shots! I highly recommend it!

Xolair (omalizumab) for Asthma, Maintenance: In the treatment of my severe chronic asthma, this medication is best at managing my condition. I take it subcutaneously once each month, two injections of 150 mg each.

Xolair (omalizumab) for Asthma, Maintenance: Prescribed for atopy. No side-effect, but no efficacy after 6 months. My maintenance medications had to stay at the same dosage, so I stopped.
