Systane Balance (ocular lubricant) "Was told to try systane balance after cataract surgery that resulted in dry eye. This drop is white and oily and blurred my vision. I was using it to clear blurred vision due to dry eye...not make it blurrier. Going back to Refresh Plus Preservative Free. I was hoping systane balance would help, but not for me. The Systane Ultra irritates my eyes too."

Lacrisert (ocular lubricant) "I have been using Lacrisert for thirty plus years and have not been able to get a prescription for months. I was told they are on six month backorder. My pharmacy has given up calling the company. I have contacted the company to no avail. I need help and don't know what to do."

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) "Although Systane Ultra helped to relieve my dry eyes after using for several days I began experiencing eye pain which got worse as I continued to use the product. Once I stopped using it the pain went away. Some months later I tried again and after about 3 days the same thing happened again."

Systane Hydration PF (ocular lubricant) "My opthomologist recommended this for me. She said that I had the driest eyes she'd ever seen. She said to get the individual vials vs the single bottle. For treating my dry eyes they are top notch! There are no side effects. I'll use a few vials daily as needed. I find them super easy to use. Only con, pricey..."

Oasis Tears (ocular lubricant) "I kept getting viral conjunctivitis and didn't realize until the third time that the only thing I did before the infection was use these eye drops. There are black spots of mold inside the screw top. I have a problem getting the drops to go in my eyes, so usually the top touches my eyelid. I wish I could post a photo of what the inside of the top looks like. Please take a look at yours. Mine doesn't expire for another 4 months, but clearly there is a big issue."

Soothe XP (ocular lubricant) "Bausch Lomb Sooth XP Emmollient Eye Drops. This product was recommended for dry eyes for 7-10 days. The 1st use at bedtime, eyes blurry for 5-10 minutes. Felt greasy & vision foggy. Product does say "temporary blurred vision upon application". The "temporarily blurred vision" did not dissipate after each use. 5-7 days use. I contacted Bausch Lomb. Pharm rep stated mineral oils may be excessive for me. Told they would recall my bottle and refund only with a receipt. They offered $12.00. I paid $14.99 at CVS plus tax. Found receipt showing $14.99 provided to them for reimbursement. CVS applied my extra bucks rewards for R/X filled to each item not total cost of purchase. Bausch+ Lomb called CVS and decided they would only refund me $6.71! Not worth a zero (0) rating for me. Mineral oil was not effective or beneficial for my use! I will never buy a product from Bausch + Lomb their customer service is horrible!"

Systane Balance (ocular lubricant) "Recently, I noticed that my eyes were burning and becoming cloudy after using my most recent bottle of Systane. Initially, I assumed there was something wrong with my eyes. However, I spent the past week at our vacation home and used a different bottle of the same product (with a different lot code), and I didn't experience any irritation. When I returned home and used the original bottle, the burning, and clouding returned. To test whether the issue was with the particular bottle, I tried another bottle of the same product with a different lot number and didn't experience any problems. The problematic product has lot number 117EX and expires in May 2023."

Systane (ocular lubricant) "Started using systane on the advice of an optometrist. It seemed to make my eyes burn but I was under the impression that it was fairly benign medication. After a few months of using it periodically it has become obvious to me that systane has been the cause of my blurry vision and eye irritation. I woke up with some bad floaters and thought that it was the beginning of a retinal detachment. Kind of scary and I don't know if it can be attributed to the use of systane but I can tell you that I will not use it anymore. You make your own decisions but I would not advise its use"

Oasis Tears (ocular lubricant) "I have used Oasis drops for only 1 week and my eye lids are swollen and painful as if I have a stye on my upper lid. I've stopped using them and hope this painful situation resolves quickly and that I don't need to see a physician. This product should be pulled off the market."

FreshKote (ocular lubricant) "Many years ago I found an eye fluid with Povidone in it for my severe dry eye. They stopped selling it . Over the course of several years I tried six different drops. None of which had Povidone. My dry eye is only in one eye where I had laser for a torn retina. If I don't use drops during the night my eye dries out and I end up with double and blurred vision in the morning which can last one or two days. Several months ago my eye dr. suggested Fresh Kote. When I checked and found it had Povidone in it I tried it even though it was $44/bottle. I have not had a dry eye morning condition since. Even at that price it is worth it."

Systane (ocular lubricant) "I used Systane Ultra Drops and I have been experiencing a painful ache in my eye ever since I put the drops in. Had used the gel before with no problem, so I am very surprised. Not happy with the product nor the response when I talked with Systane. Asked to have them send me the medical information containing the pharmacology, indications and contraindications in detail. All they sent me was a copy of the back of the box."

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) "Almost from the beginning my eyes felt better for a few days but on third day noticed my eyes stay swollen, red, began to have headaches, crust around my eyes, and now I can’t see as well so I have to have stronger eyeglasses. Also noticed the outer rim around my iris continues to thicken. These drops are horrible and I do not recommend them to anyone and they should be taken off the market."

Oasis Tears Plus (ocular lubricant) "Tried this brand (Oasis Tears Plus) as an alternate to my current dry eye medication. Shortly after inserting the drops in both eyes, I experienced some eye pressure pain, irritation, redness, and itching in both eyes, which shortly thereafter turned into a fairly prolonged headache. I tried these drops again the next day to see if these reactions persisted, and I had the same type reaction all over again. I didn't have any of these adverse reactions with my other brand dry eye drops, so I quit using these Oasis drops immediately. Primary ingredient is glycerin, but the incipient ingredients are questionable. Do not recommend if you have drug sensitivities or allergies."

Systane (ocular lubricant) "I had some chemical go into my eyes on 18th December. The only symptom was some white discharge I was put on moxigram lx and systane ultra. Since 6th January I have been seeing floaters and flashes. I went and got my eye retina checked and got to know that the vitreous fluid is sticking very tightly to the back of the eye and I may get a retinal tear when it separates. I feel my vitreous fluid has changed its properties due to systane ultra as I have started seeing flashes and floaters only recently(6th Jan) . I may be wrong. I can't say. I have stopped Systane ultra today. Will report back and tell u all if my symptoms stop"

Oasis Tears Plus (ocular lubricant) "Oasis tears plus side effects. I think my husband and I both are experiencing reactions to this product. Both of us have redder more sensitive itchy reactions. Today after a weeks use, my eyes are red and clearly this isn't working for me. My husband isn't complaining that much. Stopping use today and going back to Systane."

Refresh Plus (ocular lubricant) "I have had dry eyes for many years since 2018. I have narrow angle glaucoma and use glaucoma drops every night. I was using Hylo dry eye drops for a few years and my eyes were getting sore for no medical reason, so I chose Refresh Plus. It seems to work for my dry eyes. I use the single-use eye drops and the easy-to-use glaucoma night ones, but I found the single-use ones for Refresh Plus were harder to squeeze because I have neuropathy in my fingers. It's as if the plastic is too hard or thick. I always 'waste' the first drop of any single-use vials and then put one drop in each eye. I found that with Refresh, after that first drop, sometimes I had trouble with the second drop not coming out. Six weeks ago, I started to get sort of moving raindrops in my vision. This is under investigation, along with the floaters I already had. I doubt if it has anything to do with either eye drops, but I am searching for side effects of any eye drops or medications while waiting for a diagnosis. I am curious to read other reviews. *I never recommend meds."

Systane (ocular lubricant) "After a period of Dr appointments for red sore eyes, I was given Systane. At first I thought they were amazing but a bit sticky. Then I wondered why my eyes felt like they were turning in or twitching. Today I had to cancel my plans because it was like I had double vision. I realised it started about the same time as the drops and checked here. I must never use again!"

Lacrisert (ocular lubricant) "For years Ive had a severe abrasion in my left cornea due to an injury. I’ve used artificial tears in the day & lubricant eye gel at night for years to keep my left eye wet with the tears. I was relieved to find Lacrisert which kept my cornea wet with tears & not irritated all day. Constant use of artificial tears just doesn’t perform as well as Lacrisert & can be a nuisance/inconvenient to use in most cases. I thought I had found the solution for the problem. There are no side effects from the use of Lacrisert. I was hoping to continue the use of Lacrisert. For months, or more now, Lacrisert hasn’t been available & I don’t understand how COVID can really make that much of a difference in the manufacturing. There must be an underlying reason why it can’t be manufactured. I’d like to know."

Systane (ocular lubricant) "I used Systane complete after my cataract surgery and it burned the inside of my nose and gave my symptoms of hay fever with lots of sneezing. Horrible product and should be taken off the market. I suspect that it's the preservative in Systane that is the culprit."

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) "I started systane ultra on the advise of my opthomologist for dry eye and blurry vision, after cataract and lasik surgery. Noticed that my eyes were really itchy, but I kept using Systane and thought maybe it was just allergies. I stopped using it and sure enough the itchiness stopped. Not using it anymore."

Systane (ocular lubricant) "Glaucoma patient with a corneal graft who needs lubricant for dry eye. Was using Refresh ointment without incident. When I ran out I was given Systane Original lubricant eye drops for use 4 times a day. After a few days I developed SEVERE pain in my eye. My eye was BLOOD shot, lid was swollen, I could barely open it to take my glaucoma drops. Stopped taking it right away. I also wasn’t told about preservative vs preservative free. I am hoping that when this nightmare is over my vision will not be worse. I’ve already been through enough. Be forewarned."

Systane Ultra Preservative Free (ocular lubricant) "I had a severely allergic reaction to Systane Ultra PF eyedrops. I had to be on desidone to treat the problem and had to visit my eye doctor several times. I had itching, burning and the skin around my eyes was actually flaking off and you couldn't remove it. If you were able to remove the dead skin, it would come right back. I spent several weeks with no sleep until I realized that this was the only thing I had changed in my routine. They should take these off the market."
