"I tripped over my darn cat and fell hard on the floor. I've been in severe, almost uncontrollable pain for 3 weeks now for Piriformis syndrome/sciatica. This is one extremely debilitating condition. Pain score in a level of 1 to 10 was a 15! My doctor prescribed this for me and on day one my pain level dropped to a 4!!! Started with the six pills on the first day. I'm not having any side effects at all! FINALLY SOME MAJOR RELIEF! I haven't slept in weeks because of the pain. Thank God for this medication!"

Depo-Medrol (methylprednisolone) "I have Autoimmune disorder, Spinal stenosis, Arthritis. I was given one injection in my back of Depo-Medrol and it hasn't worked at all! Although I did have many of the side effects after the first week. I have been on the shot for 3 weeks now. My eyes are burning, blurred, I have headaches, sharp pain in my legs, sharp pain in my temples, and more."

"I took this medication after receiving 30 bug bites while on vacation, which turned into an allergic reaction. This medication worked right away. I had more energy, improved mood , and stopped itching! The only downside is on the last two days, I can hardly stay awake. Extreme fatigue."

"I was given this medication (4 mg dosepk) by a podiatrist for plantar fascitis pain as I have problems with NSAIDS. The second day I had a very red face and chest. By the end of that day every bone in my face hurt. I had stopped taking it after the morning dose by orders of my pharmacist. But later that day I got a bright pink hot area on my left forearm and also my upper arm muscle area on the right. Day 3 I developed another pink, hot area on the upper left arm and had severe pain in my shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers.I went to my primary care doctor's office for followup. They agreed to stop the medication. I had only taken the first full day (6 pills) and 1 the next morning so I didn't think the reaction would last this long."

Medrol Dosepak (methylprednisolone) "Have taken Medrol Dose Pack three times in the last 5 years, each for different inflammatory conditions. Twice for severe arthritis in my neck, and once for an unexplained swelling of my foot and ankle. All three times the drug was a miracle for me! Within the first three days I felt 80% better and was fully healed after the final day. Was always able to return to normal activities. Zero side effects, for me at least. Highly recommended."

Solu-Medrol (methylprednisolone) "I have severe COPD that was exacerbated by broncholitis, which landed me in the hospital. It has really helped reduce the inflammation in my lungs, and I can finally breathe again. I am on a pretty high IV dose, but they are treating me well. It certainly has side effects. My gut is all pooched out, and I gained SEVEN pounds in a week. Major bloat going on. Heartburn, too. It makes me a little hyper, and my skin is sensitive. I have a back/shoulder ache, but that could be the hospital bed. I hope the side effects go away when I am off of it, but at least I can breathe again."

"I was in a car accident. After taking Tramadol, Flexeril, & Naproxen everyday while going to chiropractor for 7 weeks I still had pain in upper & lower back, right shoulder blade, right arm & wrist everyday. Had 3 MRIs on week 9 which revealed 5 bulging/herniated discs with pinched nerves in neck & 2 in lower back. Was prescribed Medrol Dose Pack 4 mg (21 pills x 6 days) & had 70% pain relief afterwards. Side effects from Medrol Dose Pack I had were nausea, slight headaches, and trouble breathing (I never took the meds on an empty stomach & have no health problems, 31 yrs old). 4 days after completing dose pack a majority of pain reappeared again everyday. Now have been prescribed aquatic therapy and IDD (cervical/lumbar mechanical traction"

"I had a severe reaction to the Levaquin antibiotic (Levaquin toxicity) and it took 4.5-years to regain physical strength. I was working again, then my dentist prescribed methylprednisone (for numbness after dental surgery) and within 4-days I began relapsing into severe muscle weakness. I fainted multiple times driving, had temporary blindness in one eye and have had to stop working due to continued muscle weakness."

"2 herniated discs in my neck make life difficult. With this medication it's like I am 18 again. No swelling, no pain and life is good. To bad it's so short lived. I have it once every 6 weeks for a week at a time."

"Was prescribed methylprednisolone 21 pack after dentist had pulled 3 previously abscessed teeth. I had absolutely zero pain or swelling after extractions. Never had to take the first pain pill so I would say this steroid works super well for that. The downside for me is I have kept a severe headache for the 2 days I've been on it and haven't slept at all . I'm typing this review at 4:50 am because I've just laid awake in bed all night with the headache to boot. Took ibuprofen for hasn't stop yet. I NEED SLEEP PLEASE!"

"The methylpredisone took away all my pain even in the worst places. I did have spasms in my spine that were a bit unnerving. I can only use it one week a month but the break from the pain is a God send."

"The first 28 hrs while i was taking this drug has been devastating for me. I took the drug this morning before breakfast as described & shortly after I was feeling short winded leaned forward to my knees praying to God "why am I feeling this way". It was also feeling like something was flaring up inside my chest and rib cage area. Shortly I called my PCP & they told me to come back"

"I constantly over think things, worry and assume I will have every side effect, so I never want to take medication. I had fluid in my middle ear for over 2 years and went to several doctors who basically did nothing. Finally I was prescribed methylprednisolone 4 mg. I researched for days finding every bad side effect but got over myself and took the medicine. I had no nausea, dizziness or heart palpitations. I had a little gas but everything else was fine! It taste terrible but we've all drank way worst things that only have harmed our body. It gave me some relief the first week but now is wearing off. It was a great time treatment!"

"I was prescribed this due to a stress fracture in my foot that was greatly inflamed as I did not find out that it was fractured until 2 months after the fact. After the first dose of taking all 6 at once (6 day cycle of 21 pills) I slept great, but woke up with terrible dry mouth and throat, and had trouble breathing. Also feeling fatigue was an issue. Being an 18 yo male I would rather just cope with the pain, and simply wear the brace that they gave me to take the pressure off my foot, I feel that the adverse affects I got were not worth taking the inflammation off through time; although it did take care of the inflammation within two days."

Depo-Medrol (methylprednisolone) "Depo medrol is a nightmare drug which makes my skin extremely dry, flakey, and peeling. This drug has messed up my bowels causing extreme gas and bloating plus sticky stools plus I have to use the bathroom all day some days and my anus will itch. I suggested maybe I have worms but three stool samples say I don't. I feel chronically tired and hurt everywhere and now I have daily headaches. This drug makes me think slow and feel dumb. So depressing. Been to a few doctors and all they care about is a colostomy which I feel is not the antidote for these bad side effects I've had for well over a year. I complained about these side effects after I was first given these injections and the doctor turned a blind eye to them and kept giving me depo medrol for over a year. I wonder if the doctor is keeping me sick to make money off of me."

"Went to the doctor with a pinched nerve, could barley move my whole left leg. Started my dose at 11:30 AM or so and by 3:00 PM I was dancing with the kids and making cookies with no pain at all. My wife was wondering who this person was. Wow, this stuff is great. Day 2, still no side effects, pain has come back but still much better, sadly, I lost the euphoria rush I experienced on day 1, but still feel alert."

"From the first dose I got a lot of physical energy - which was great after being exhausted for a long time. Same time, it made me so irritable and depressed, I was climbing through the ceilings. After a couple of hours, it calmed down, but then I broke out in a skin rash. NEVER AGAIN."
