Medrol Dosepak (methylprednisolone) "I had severe pain in my back and after several scans and tests the only thing that was obvious was a herniated disc. I was released from the hospital with a Medrol Pak. I took it the next morning and in a couple of hours not only my back but my knee pain had disappeared. Within a couple of days the pain was history and has stayed that way. I did not have any side effects."

"I started having inflammation in both of my shoulders where I had a very hard time raising my arms to apply deodorant. I also had pain behind my knees where I could kneel but I could not sit on my heels as the pain from inflammation was so bad. I also had a hard time moving my wrists from inflammation. I also had pain on the sides of my hips evenly which was scary. I had tests done many times for R/A and Osteo and I was told that I did not have either one but something was causing inflammation which in turn caused pain and stiffness. After taking the first day of a 6-day 4 mg Medrol does pac, I felt 10X better. It was like a miracle drug with no negative side effects for me."

Depo-Medrol (methylprednisolone) "My hair is falling out. It's so hard to lose weight. I feel mentally a little off like constant irritation. I also feel a little lethargic. When I first got the shots I felt jittery for days. I'm having blurry vision. "

"So I work at a hospital and am constantly on my feet, walking/running for 12+ hrs straight. Somehow I injured my foot and started limping by the end of my shifts. Went to the Dr on Friday and she gave me a packet... Its Monday morning and my foot feels a ton better. The swelling is almost gone completely. No side effects, no redness of the face, nothing... Give it a 10 for working great for me!"

"I was introduced to METHYLPREDNISOLONE after having a cervical diskectomy. I was in severe pain before and after surgery. Pain meds helped very little. However 7 days of this medicine gave me unbelievable relief and the pain meds began to work again. "

"After reading many other reviews on here, I would ascertain that if you have any tendency of depression, anxiety, mood disorder, this medication should be avoided. I’m on my second day and I’ve been seriously blue, depressed and unable to sleep at night. I’m frustrated because I do think it’s doing wonders to my joints and double plantar fasciitis which were so painful a couple days ago I walked difficultly. That alone made my life depressing... but now, this feels very different. Not sure what to do at this point but will definitely weigh the pros and cons and grab a couple Xanax before bed for sure. UGH"

"I had been experiencing shoulder pain from repetitive strain for about 3 years; it started off quite mild and then in the past 3-6 months had developed into a constant stabbing, throbbing pain. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with rotator cuff tendonitis, and was put on methylprednisolone and valium. After the very first day on the steroid, my pain symptoms reduced *dramatically*. On day 3, it barely hurts at all. So, so, so relieved.. I wish I'd gone to the doctor much sooner!"

"I have been to the ER three times in 90 days with horrible sinus pain & pressure. Just finished my third round of augmentin. My ears are still full of fluid & I can hardly hear at all. This steriod has been working so fast! I feel better already & its only been 12 hours on the medicine (4 mg) pills. It does make me feel jittery, but it's definitely worth the side effects. Being sick 90 days is a long time."

Medrol (methylprednisolone) "I’ve been on 4mg of medrol once a day for over ten years. Nothing else gives me the relief I need to get through the day...I’ve weaned off a few times only to go back. I’m aware of all side affects and interactions but nothing else works for me. The day my Dr says I need to get off is the day I look for a new Dr. I have hypothyroidism and have been infected with Epstein Barr in my teens, both of which cause me wide spread inflammation in my soft tissue and joints all over my bodily. This is my miracle medication."

"I figured I'd share my somewhat neutral experience with this drug after reading mostly negative reviews. The reviews about the side effects alone made me cringe and NOT even want to give it a chance. Rarely will you find a positive review when the drug actually works. It's always when it doesn't work that you end up reading the horror stories. I understand everyone is different so this is just my experience. I was originally given this medication for heel bursitis and planter fasciitis. Although at the same time I had a terrible reaction to poison ivy and sumac. I was told it would treat both. I followed the regime exactly. I didn't notice any side effects at all. Nothing. I was waiting for the panic attacks and anxiety I read about from other reviews. No insomnia either. Nothing happened. Saying that, the medication didn't work for me either. My ivy and sumac stayed the same. Same with my foot. I was kind of disappointed. I gave it a shot tho."

"I'm 52 and started developing early signs of carpal tunnel. The pain in my left wrist would keep me up at night until finally, I went to the doctor. He prescribed methylprednisolone 4mg dosepake 21's. I took the first (6) pills that night and slept like a baby! By morning, almost no pain and I felt wonderful! It feels great to do the simply things like pinning your hair, putting on your coat, or pulling up your pants...so many things we take for granted. Oh, and my work station is ergonomically correct now!"

"I had foot pain on right side, my right hip also but not considered at time. I took methylprednisolone 4mg pack. By the end of the medicine, I was not having any pain in foot or hip. Wow what a difference. It made moving around and going to work was much better than a few days before. Eating with medicines helps the upset stomach. What a life change! Thanks!"

"I had my third back surgery on 12/31/15. Pain and tightness has been off and on since. Recently the pain was so bad I couldn't take it anymore because my hydrocodone wasn't working. Went to the doc and he put me in the methylprednisilone dose pak 4mg. Over night it was better. You have to take it with food or it will tear you up. Don't take it close to bedtime. No significant side effects other than mild depression and lethargy. May not even be due to the med but it is a possibility."

"Last month I was given this med by the orthopedic for a "pinched nerve" from my neck to shoulder down arm which was very painful. I took a double dose pak, 42 pills total. I had never took steroids before. Day 2, I immediately felt better. Great! By day 12, the last day of this regimen, I was sooo tired, bloated from lots of gas, but pain was 90 percent better. The days following, I got so weak and just wanted to sleep all the time. Good thing I am retired. It's been 3 weeks since I stopped. The pain is back full force, my legs are swollen from water retention, and I'm full of gas. Pills were good for a short time, but now I am back to square one. Had 2 MRI's yesterday, and will see the doctor in 4 days. Won't take these again."

"I have osteoarthritis, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy as well as occipital neuralgia. In the past I was prescribed prednisone to reduce the painful inflammation. I hated taking it due to the side effects. There are not too many medications I can tolerate or that I don't have an allergic reaction to. This medicine methylprednisolone was great in between all the medical procedures. I felt like a new person without all the constant pain for at least a few months until my next procedure"

"methylprednisolone caused me to go from a normal mental state to extreme panic. I took my pills up until day 5 and then I had to stop due to the side effects making me sicker. A week later with anti anxiety medications to counteract these effects and I’m still not sleeping through the night. The risks for me certainly outweighed the benefits. Do NOT take if you have any form of anxiety disorder."

SEVERE Muscle loss, bulging eye, eyes BLURRY, extreme pressure in my head to the point I can't move sometimes, SHAKINESS depression, HEART PALPITATIONS, bone & joint pain, painful jolts periodically, nausea, black stools, burning back& stomach, diarrhea & constipation, TINGLING, DIZZY."

"I feel like this drug is a miracle drug. I know it's not good for long term use but the 6 day pack of 4 mg tablets makes me feel like a new person almost immediately. I have been taking it after shoulder surgery because I have had a lot of pain in my hand and inflammation. This is the third time I have taken the six day dosage since surgery 8 weeks ago but it relieves my pain really well for about 2 weeks. I have not noticed any side effects. I'm not sure if it affects my sleep because I have not been sleeping much because of shoulder pain anyway. I wish it was a more permanent fix but it's great for temporary relief while the shoulder heals and allows me to work on my physical therapy exercises more and use my hand more."
