For Pain "I have used Lidocaine patches for years they work really well on my back pain. That is until my pharmacist changed brands and I received Mylan brand of lidocaine patch 5%. This brand is a waste of money. They do not stay on at all. When you finally peel it off (which is very difficult) the backing and press it to your skin immediately the patch begins peeling up. If you to get the patch on you have to take first aid tape and place it on the patch or otherwise it falls off. This company needs to know that their product is all most useless."

Lidoderm (lidocaine) for Postherpetic Neuralgia "If I could give a lower rating than 1, I would. I have used Lidoderm by 2 other manufacturers in the past so can say with authority that the Mylan patch is horrible. What good is it if it doesn't stay on? Having to tape it is unacceptable (and doesn't work), especially considering the cost. I cannot believe the Mylan version was given FDA approval. As a registered nurse, I am appalled that this company would make such an inferior product for people who must live with pain. I recommend Lidoderm widely, but now I am telling everyone I know to avoid it if they have no choice but the ineffective Mylan formulation of it."

For Pain "I'm in a battle over the switch to Mylan lidocaine 5% patches. I agree with everyone here--they don't work, they don't stick, and they're a cheaper version containing less medication (140mg vs. 700mg). The pharmacist tried to tell me the Mylan patch still delivers 50mg/gram of lidocaine. Yes, but it's a thinner patch, and therefore less effective. In fact, Mylan's own website states that "the patches are made of different materials containing a different amount of medication." For those of you who say that Watson no longer makes lidocaine patches, they have changed their name to Actavis. There is also another manufacturer, Qualitest. Both of these brands make a product similar to Lidoderm. Ask for these brands specifically!"

For Pain "I have used the lidocaine patches by Watson for years for osteoporosis in my neck and back and they decreased my pain from a 10 to a 3. No narcotics needed. Now I have been given the lidocaine patch made by Milan and they are absolutely HORRIBLE. .WASTE OF MONEY.. USELESS. Not only are they nearly impossible to separate from the plastic backing once you finally get them on they start peeling up immediately. . These are a total waste of money and someone should do something about this because the Mylan company surely doesn't care. .. now I will need to take a pill to help with the pain..."

LMX 5 (lidocaine) for Hemorrhoids "This cream is the best for hemmies, as we call them in the doctor’s office I work in. I’ve used it off and on for 20 years when I have a flare, when constipation and pushing leaves painful hemmies. Nothing is worse. A 30 gram tube will run $60, give or take. But it lasts quite awhile. It has been the same price for the 20 years. I’ve tried other brands and they work. But something in this brand makes it last longer. This usually works for me: Clean the area gently with Toilet Paper (TP) and witch hazel. Pat dry. Then apply a peanut size amount using TP. Repeat in 2-4 hours. Take Metamucil or stool softener daily and BM’s will be consistent and not hard. Avoid pushing hard with bowel motions. Use hot sitz baths as much as you can. Take a OTC pain reliever and you’re good to go. Well, for the most part. I had surgery 20+ years ago and it lasted maybe 4 years?"

For Pain "Milan brand lidocaine patches are a waste of time. They will not stay on. At all. Not even for a few minutes. They don't stretch. At all. They are super thin but sticks to itself and are completely ineffective. The two other manufacturers of Lidocaine patches have done well. Milan put a terrible waste of a product on the market. Obviously not field tested. If they were able to have even one patch stay on someone 12 hours I would be shocked. That person would have to be in a coma. These are expensive and once the box of 30 has been broken open, that's it. Those of us who get a 3-month supply have a lot of work to do if we want to exchange it. My pharmacist did easily."

For Pain "I can't tell if this expensive patch is working because I can't get it to adhere. I already use other patches so I know I'm putting it on correctly as instructions indicate. I'm in Galveston Texas and I am keeping them stored in accordance to instructions. Anyone else having same issues?"

Lidoderm (lidocaine) for Pain "I have non-union/unfused sternum from open heart surgery. This is one thing that really helps with the pain. Only bad thing is insurance will only pay for it if I have shingles. I only wish the FDA would do further studies so that those of us who need this patch can get our insurance to cover it. The insurance covered it until 2016."

LMX 5 (lidocaine) for Hemorrhoids "This cream works within a few minutes for pain from hemorrhoids. It is easy to use, a smaller than pea-sized dot of it is plenty, and tends to burn slightly for a minute or less, then pain is gone. The only drawback is it's effect doesn't last more than a couple of hours and it says not to exceed six applications in a day. It is pricey but it can be purchased without a prescription at any pharmacy. I suggest ordering before you need it because it usually has to be ordered and the wait can be...painfully long. I bought it to use to prevent electrolysis pain but so glad I had it when I had a flare up."

Lidoderm (lidocaine) for Pain "I have cervical & lumbar spinal stenosis, herniated discs and several other spinal issues. The lumbar part causes extreme pain in my hip to the point I can barely walk. I'm waiting for pain mgmt appt, but after seeing them for cervical problems I have zero confidence they will help. In the meantime, my gp precribed these in addition to oral pain med. After reading reviews here, I'm glad I went to walgreens because I got the ones from watson. They stick well so far. Too soon to say how well they work because I just applied a little while ago. It does seem a little better already though. Pretty expensive co-pay, but if it helps I'll find a way to afford it."

For Pain "Personal Warning. Dangerous Substance. Please do not use numbing cream unless you are absolutely certain of what you are doing. I used a 5% cream, I spread a decent amount on my shoulders and neck to help with pain, but since no effect kicked in, I decided to just wash it off in my morning shower. I did not know that it should not be combined with heat. The shower’s heat hastened absorption and crashed my system in an immediate overdose, I became dehydrated, could not stand, lost feeling in my legs, and could not stop shaking violently. My extremities became numb and burned, and I was lightheaded and fighting to stay conscious. I struggled to breathe and move, and I had to call emergency help. The cream had also absorbed into my shirt, which, when I put it on later without realizing, gave me a second dose. I have never been more miserable and in pain in my life. Please, please be very careful with this substance. You could lose your life. This needs far stricter regulation."

For Neuropathic Pain "Mylan lidocaine patches are a waste of money, the adhesive + lidocaine layer is too thin - 1/5 the thickness of the Watson generic brand. The clue is the total lidocaine is only 140mg per pad versus Watson's 700mg, and thus much less adhesive since the ratio of lidocain to adhesive must remain the same. Mylan won't stay stuck to skin, and the non-stretchable backing hurts if/when the patch rolls and pinches skin. Very disappointing to pay so much out of pocket for such a poor attempt at a product. Never ever again with the Mylan brand."

For Pain "I am a recovering addict who suffers from terrible back pain. Unfortunately, I am unable to take any scheduled pain medications because of my fear of relapse. My Dr suggested lidocaine patches by Endo Pharmaceuticals. I told him that I was willing to try anything because 1200 mg of ibuprofen was not touching the pain. I am so grateful for his suggestion. These patches have helped relieved my pain so much. I am able to sleep through the night and face my day pain free. Thank you Endo for making these patches. I was out of alternatives and had lost hope."

For Neuropathic Pain "I've been using Lidocaine patches for years now. Recently I became a Medicare patient and can no longer afford them. A friend of mine brought me some of hers. They were made by Mylan. 1. They would not stick unless I used paper tape to hold them down (this is a must if you have to use these). 2. When I wore them on the inside of my knee they split into. 3. I did not receive any pain relief. 4. These cost $100's if you do not have insurance. Medicare will Not pay. 5. Anyone that gives this product anything but a 1 must have stock in the company. The GOOD NEWS! While I cannot afford them, I will tell you I was using same percentage but made by a company called Watson. These patches are over 1/8" thick gel/cloth back. These WORK!"

For Pain "Totally useless all around. No relief, and doesn’t stick. Hard to peel the backing off. No more effective than putting scotch tape on, though at least that would stick better. How is this even on the market? Didn’t know I was being sent this awful generic and had waited weeks. Have to see now about getting the usual Lidoderm patch. Guess another month of back pain."

For Pain "I was just prescribed lidocaine 5% patches by my physician and the pharmacy filled it with the Generic patch by Mylan. Do not waste your time on these they're not like the lighted term patches with the white polyester type backing, they are plastic and they do not stick. I'm taking them back to the pharmacy tomorrow to see if I can get refunded for them since I'll never be able to use them. I've use the patches by Watson before and they were very good, these ones however are a waste of money."

For Neuropathic Pain "I have used these patches with great success for years but yesterday I was given the new Mylan brand and they are awful...they will not stick and I am allergic to surgical tape so can't keep them on. They just plain will not stick except to themselves. I am stuck with 90 patches that I most likely will not be able to use and I am going to be in pain all month until I can get my next RX. You can bet I will ask for my old brand next time."

Lidoderm (lidocaine) for Postherpetic Neuralgia "My first question is why did Mylan discontinue making the cotton patches that actually stuck to your skin and start producing a less quality patch that would not stick to a dry surface of any kind? Secondly, who test these products and provides the thumbs up for quality control? And third, why do the consumers have to settle with less quality medicines as the prices inflate to purchase and the stocks just continue to rise."

For Pain "If I could give a lower rating I would. All the previous complaints listed here are totally correct these Mylan patches are NO GOOD, HORRIBLE, WORTHLESS, and a waste of money. I complained to the pharmacy which couldn't do anything they suggested I call the manufacturer Mylan which I did, at first they acted helpful saying they would call my pharmacy and see if they could adjust the brand for one that works, and would call me back they also gave me a case # (that's a red flag). No one from Mylan ever called back I called again and got a run around and a few days after I got a letter in the mail from Mylan basically saying they're product was sound and I should follow the directions on the box or watch the video(as if I hadn't already!)"

Medi-Quik Spray (lidocaine) for Pain "Works for pain, but also antibacterial! AND a gentle spray! I absolutely love this product because I didn't get ANY reactions (like I did from all the others), I HEALED faster, and it DOES take away itching and pain like a charm. The other products didn't work NEARLY as well. I was disappointed that my local drug stores don't carry it, so I had to look it up and purchase online. I can't believe stores don't carry it. It's phenomenal product as far as I'm concerned, and since I'm so sensitive, my friends and family use me as a barometer. They love this stuff, too."
