Mirena (levonorgestrel) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had the Mirena put in Aug 13, 2019... spotted every day for about a month, finally had a period but very lightly. Ruined my sex life, constantly bleeding and smell of old blood. Days I wasn’t spotting when having sex, made me realize that old blood was sitting in my cervix which cause me to smell during sex. Finally got it removed yesterday and just want my body to get back to the way that it was... I would rather deal with my period then to not know when I’m gonna bleed or having continuous spotting and horrible sex life. One day after removal I’m bleeding like a normal period so hopefully that will clear everything up. I would never put in another Mirena."

Take Action (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "Okay, I promised myself that I would do a review once I started my period to calm some of you ladies who are freaking right now. I took the pill probably about 45 minutes after unprotected sex. A week later I started spotting, so of course I was freaking out thinking it wasn’t my period. It was very light spotting, but my cramps were AWFUL! I was shaking they were so bad. The bleeding lasted 5 days, so I was hoping it was my period. A few days later I experienced every pregnancy symptom in the book.. headaches, nausea, exhaustion, sore boobs/nipples, weight gain, cravings. You name it! It felt like the most stressful few months of my life.. this month I was 6 days late on my period and FINALLY started! This pill does have side affects for some people! Not all.. but! If you take it before 72 hours I promise it works! You’ll be okay I promise.❤️"

Take Action (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "Hopefully this helps some of you. I told myself I would write a review for this pill. Here we go! So, My boyfriend and I had sex on 2/6/20. We used a condom. He came and when he pulled out, we realized it had broken inside of me. He bought the "Take action" pill and I took it the next day 2/7/20 I have never taken this pill before. (I ate some food just in case because I didn't know if it was going to be hard on my body like plan b was.) I felt nauseous at first, but then it went away. I felt literally no nasty symptoms like plan b made me feel. (Then again it depends on the girls body so who knows). I started getting period symptoms on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of February. On Valentine's day I got my period! And I still have it right now. I really don't have any cramps just kinda a heavier flow. But the pill works!! Also I'm quite young so am not ready for a baby. Take care ladies ! Don't stress your period will show up."

Aftera (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "I am a teen and if you are one too you might want to read this if your stressing and want to know how this works. I had sex with boyfriend he came in me with no condom. We bought aftera 1 hour or so later. My boobs were sore for about two weeks, it first started the day after I had taken the pill. The pain may get really bad but just breathe and relax, its a side affect. I got cramps here and there but it would feel like a little kick to my stomach. Then I had spotting for one day. I thought I was pregnant because of the dark color but that is also a side affect. Just breathe and let the pill do its work. Plan B and aftera are the same thing. Same ingredients. Don't dig through every website trying to see if your pregnant or not, its okay"

Mirena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "Just wanted to share my experience because I think it is really important to add that more often than not people post negative reviews rather than positive because they find it more necessary. Nothing wrong with that, it's just the reason I am posting my review. Please if you are considering birth control talk with your health care provider about what is best for your individual need. Anyways, I got the Mirena about 2 and a half years ago and I have NEVER looked back. I recommend it to all of my girlfriends. Yes there is some discomfort upon insertion but I haven't had my period in 2 and a half years! The amount of money and time and honestly just stress and emotions that I've saved make up for it ten-fold. I also did not gain weight, didn't get acne, and just overall have forgotten I've even had it. No period and no unwanted pregnancy with no side effects, I really couldn't think of a better scenario. I highly recommend if it's something you've been considering."

Liletta (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "Date Placed: 04/18 Today's Date: 9/12 Still experiencing NEVER-ENDING SPOTTING. When it was first placed everything was normal for a month but then I got a REALLY HEAVY FLOW for about 3 weeks and had to use Super Plus tampons. Once that finally stopped I had no bleeding for maybe two weeks. Now here I am with the BROWNISH REDDISH DISCHARGE. Has anyone else experienced any of these things?"

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "I had unprotected sex and I took the pill 30 hours later. I felt a bit drowsy within the first few hours, however over the next two weeks I experienced cramping. The cramps were really bad.10 days after taking the pill my breasts completely swelled. My nipples were always hard and the pain was unbearable. I was convinced I was pregnant. The cramps continued and I was experiencing back pain. Then the pain in my breasts finally began to subside and I got my period the next day, exactly when I was supposed to. It was a little bit heavier than usual but I've never been happier to be on my period. The pill messes up your body due to increase of hormones. I've read it makes you feel exactly as pregnant women do so don't panic over the symptoms!"

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "If you're here reading these comments, that means you're a boy or girl in the same position I was: A mistake was made somewhere and you're concerned about pregnancy. The waiting is gruesome, but I'm here to assure you; this pill works. After ingesting the pill 16 hours after sex, a period of terrible waiting began. My girlfriend and I were both antsy and scared, and the time of her expected period came and went. She was 8 days late, but alas, she had it. This pill works in mysterious ways that can cause a later period, but I'm here to tell you there is nothing to worry about. It's scary, it's unsettling, but I'm here to tell you to calm down and relax because this pill will take care of everything."

Mirena (levonorgestrel) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had the Mirena IUD inserted on Feb 4th. It took 5 mins to insert and they used an ultrasound machine to ensure it was done correctly. I have an extremely high pain tolerance, but must the insertion was probably the worst 5 mins of my entire life. The pain was ridiculous! After that, I had mild cramping for 24 hrs and light brown bleeding for 3 days. On the 4th day out of no where , I felt sick to my stomach and had horrible cramping pains. Lasted for 30 minutes, I was almost in tears, but subsided with 800 mg of Advil and a hot water bottle. My period was suppose to start Feb 14th, but I had brown spotting 3 days prior and am still menstruating!! Its been 11 days straight; its light but enough to need a panty liner or tampon. I'm exhausted, cranky and frustrated. My next dr appt is Mar 7th to check that the IUD is still in the same position. I'm thinking if I bleed all of March, I'm getting this thing taken out. I had no idea I'd bleed for this many days in a row."

Mirena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "First off, I was 25 and childless. I had tried the pill, but I am a poor forgetful soul, and that was unacceptable. The patch left an icky mark that hurt my skin. I am married so we are beyond condoms. My Mirena insertion, a year and a half ago, was somewhat painful, so I took a nap. I had some cramps for the first two weeks, probably due to getting used to the hormones in the IUS. My first cycle afterward, the blood seemed thin and only lasted a few days. I have not had a period since. I really like Mirena because it's easy and I don't have to think about it. My sex drive is still great, and I don't have to pay every month for birth control. I just wanted to explain all of the side effects I experienced so others could be informed."

Mirena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "The Mirena seemed like a great option for me as I had negative experiences with other forms of birth control. Insertion was fine but I had severe cramping for a few days after. My moods were up and down for the first few months and I wanted to have it removed but my doctor recommended to try it for 6 months. It has now been 6 months and my mental health is the worst it has ever been. I'm constantly on the verge of tears and cannot cope with everyday life. I have a history of anxiety but I've never felt this low. I would not recommend the Mirena if you are sensitive to other birth controls (pill, implanon). I still have bad cramps on the Mirena and my periods are heavier. Can't wait to have it removed!"

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "I just wanted to leave a review of my experience in case someone else is going through a similar situation. So I had unprotected sex with a guy the day after I had already ovulated. Of course I read that plan b isn’t really effective during ovulation or after so I freaked out. He pulled out but I was still nervous about possible pregnancy so the next day (about 16 hours later) I took the plan b pill. I had cramping here and there in both my stomach and lower back. Little bit of nausea a few days after taking it. I stressed myself out so much from googling symptoms and what not. I thought for sure I might be pregnant, but one day before my period was due I started spotting light and then I got more intense cramps and my period came strong right after. This pill DOES work! People will say it doesn’t during ovulation but I’ve read a lot of reviews on here and other women say the same thing. Keep your hopes up because your period will eventually come!!"

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "Hello ladies. My experience with Plan B has been stressful to be truly honest. I have used this pill more than 5 times in my life. This year I used it like 3 weeks ago and I used just to be cautious because I was not ovulating, but I was 5 days away to ovulate, I took the pill after 42 hours and the side effects are awful. I have nausea, I feel tired, I have mild cramps and worst of all EXTREMELY SENSITIVE BREASTS!!!!! That got me thinking for the past 3 weeks that I was pregnant but my period has not arrived yet. I took a pregnancy test and the results are negative, I know that my period will eventually show up because it isn't the first time I have experienced this. Last time I had very few side effects and my period arrived 2 months late, so I guess this time it will also be awhile but this pill messes up your body big time."

Kyleena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "The reason the reviews are so high for kyleena is because most people are leaving 10 star reviews a few days up to a week after they got it inserted. Let it settle and your body get used to it and wait until you know how it affects your body. I have had mine in for 9 months and at first I loved it but now I can't wait to have it removed. For the past few months I have been very irritable and angry, very bad stomach aches and bad bowel movements, bloated, and absolutely no sex drive, I don't even care about sex. I thought there was something wrong with me to the point to where I thought I needed to talk to a therapist, then it clicked in my head that it was the IUD. Do not write a 10 star review when you have only had it in for a few days."

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "IT WORKS. I got my period one day late. I took it after 10 hours of the deed. I was on My 8th day of my menstrual cycle and 5 days before ovulation. However because I was afraid of risks I took it since my app said my fertile window started. I knew the pill was working because I got acne the day after on my chin (hormonal), cramps and sore boobs all next 3 weeks. Mood swings all over the place. I was scared so I took a blood test one day before my estimated period date and it came back negative. Two days after that my period arrived. I feel very tired and painful but I am happy to be out of this craziness. This page helped me a lot to not go crazy. I took plan B 4 times in my life and always worked. Sending you good vibes and peace of mind. You got this!"

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "This has totally been the most stressful almost 2 weeks of my life. So me and my boyfriend were having sex and the condom broke but we didn’t realize that it broke until after he finished in me. I look at my flo period app and I was two days past the main ovulation day but still in my fertile window. I immediately started crying and panicking so the next day I went and got plan b. we then realized on google it says it won’t work if your already ovulation so I was even more freaked out. I didn’t have super extreme symptoms but my boobs were sore and I had horrible mood swings. Not having that many symptoms worried me a little bit but here we are I just got my period 12 days after I took the pill and one day earlier then expected. Just remember that everyone’s body is different and try not to google things even tho it’s almost impossible to do it will give you major anxiety. Best wishes to everyone going through similar things"

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "I took this approximately 48 hours after unprotected sex while I was ovulating. I felt fine after taking the pill. A few days before my period was due I experienced major mood swings, bloating, cramps and sore breasts. These symptoms lasted the few days before I was due and then the symptoms stopped on the actual day I was due. But no period. Needless to say I was freaking out! (This is why I am writing this to help others from freaking) -- I was supposed to start on a Friday. Then Saturday rolls around, then Sunday and no period... Just really, really sore breasts on Sunday. That Monday evening I finally started and had breast tenderness, cramps, headache, tiredness... But atleast I started - 3 (longest days of my life) days late."

Liletta (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I got Liletta about 3 years ago. Very painful insertion but pain went away about 1 hour later. My next two periods were unbearable. Like I thought an ovary was exploding and couldn't walk or breath. I have been having pain on and off every week that are similar to endometriosis pains with light bleeding. I have PCOS and I told the Dr and they said it would be fine but I'm starting to wonder about it. I have no sex drive, I feel tired all the time and I have a mental fog that I specifically remembered starting around the time of my insertion. I also gained about 15 pounds. The cramps radiate out from my ovaries to my back and down my thighs. My Dr keeps telling me it's normal... I want to get it removed as soon as possible."

Kyleena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I want to point out that people are more likely to leave a review if they had a negative experience so if it seems like the amount bad reviews are overwhelming, this is why. I’ve only had the Kyleena for a couple of weeks but I can say that it has been a BREEZE. I was so nervous about getting it because of the pain horror stories; My doc prescribed low dose Xanax and some misoprostol. I took half of a Xanax and some ibuprofen before my visit and I’d say on a pain scale 4/10. Very bearable. Cramped hard for 30 seconds, then mildly for about 4 hours intermittently after I got home. These cramps were so mild it was almost not noticeable. That’s it. The only thing I have noticed is that I get mild dizzy spells here and there but a) it’s a normal side effect that is extremely bearable b) it will wear off in time and c) it beats out of most birth control side effects or, ya know, children. If you’re on the fence at least give it a try- it might be perfect for you"

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "I wanted to tell my story to all girls who are going through pregnancy scare.I had sex (WHILE OVULATING) with a guy I barely know and the condom broke and he inished inside me. I took plan b within an hour. I was nauseous for 3-4 days, wanted to puke, didn't ate at all due to stress, had to go to the toilet more and had light pain in abdominal. After maybe 5-6 days after plan b I had brown discharge which was more like medium period but it lasted for 3days. After 2weeks after intercourse my period should gave started but because of plan b I was sure it will come later than usual and exactly after 2weeks I got my period symptoms: severe breast pain, severe abdominal pain, mood swings. But after a week I got my period and it is sooo heavy like never before. So girls, don't stress like I did and just trust the pill, it really will do its job."

Mirena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I have had the Mirena in for for nearly 2 years. Was ok for first few months odd cramp here and there. 6 months after insertion got my first (of many) bacterial infections. Cramps, pain during sex, brown smelly discharge. Always cleared up with flagyl and cream. I can’t even count how many I have had since then. It’s awful. I have 0 sex drive which makes my partner and me feel awful. Every time I get spotting always puts fear in me that it could be something more sinister which always escalates my anxiety. Have made an appointment to get it removed, as I can't live like this anymore."

Plan B One-Step (levonorgestrel) for Emergency Contraception "Well, lets just say that I had a wonderful cruise. When me and my partner were done with all 3 times we've done it, the condom would always go missing. Stressed out, and having to wait until I got off the boat, I ran to the nearest pharmacy to buy the one step pill. Mind you, I did take it within the 72 hours as intended. After two weeks of patiently waiting for my period, it came, all but a few days late. I'm writing this review because i was stressing out whether the pill worked or not. Just letting you know that it does. And I was pretty close to the 72 hour deadline."

I took it 4 days after my period had ended. I am 5’0 & 95 pounds. I'm stating that because I think that played a big roll in the side affects I experienced. I started bleeding 5 days after taking the pill. I had cramps for over two weeks straight. My whole body ached & It made me fatigued. It was all severed. I threw up twice within the first 3 days. The pill did work. It made my next period 21 days late. The stress was real. Do not stress it works ! Just be aware that the dose is heavy & every body reacts differently to it."

Mirena (levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I had my Mirena inserted in March 2017, because my husband & I didn’t want anymore kids. The insertion wasn’t bad, it didn’t bother me. I had irregular bleeding for about 2 months, then no more periods. I had a healthy sex drive, that crumbled with Mirena. I thought it was unrelated to the Mirena, my Dr said it couldn’t be the Mirena. I couldn’t lose weight & always felt bloated. My skin was constantly breaking out with acne. My husband & I agreed for him to get a vasectomy. I had the Mirena taken out in August 2019. I didn’t even feel him take it out. A) I started to lose weight & that constant bloated feeling B) My sex drive is back to what it used to be, I felt broken for over 2 years C) My skin is clear D) I have energy & lost that feeling of depression & fatigue. Listen to your body, everyone is different, my Dr tried to convince me to keep it in, but I choose what was best for me. Some women love it, some hate it, this is my personal experience with Mirena."
