Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for COPD "Since I started using Breo I still need a maintenance dose of 20 mg of prednisone, but I rarely use my rescue inhaler, and my nebulizing has gone from once every 4 hours to once every 8 hours. At Stage 4 COPD, this medication has given me tremendous relief."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "Was put on it after unknown lung disease (Hypersenstivity pneumonitis OR Bronchiolitis obliterans - yet to be determined) I think it does improve breathing, but I'm having hard time concentrating, feeling emotional, bad sleep and muscle and bone pain. With all these side effects I'd rather have harder time breathing then feeling like I'm a different person... But as it seems, not everyone are effected the same"

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for COPD, Maintenance "My mom used Breo as a COPD maintenance medication. It is a horrible medication!!! The side effects outweigh the benefits. My mom used Breo for two months. The following is what she experienced: horrible panic attacks, extreme confusion, brain fog, hot flashes, neck pain, joint pain, headaches, tachycardia, fidgeting, repetitive movement, crying spells, a1c 6.4, frequent urination, stomach cramps, throat swelling, coughing, runny nose, shortness of breath, and she was always cold. I took her to the ER and all test results (EKG, lab work, and CT scan) were negative. The reviews on this site helped me to narrow it down to the Breo inhaler. Breo was the only medication she took daily. The side effects developed after 8 weeks of usage. It wasn't gradual, it was abrupt. I notified her Pulmonologist and he switched her to Breztri. It has been 3 days since she used Breo and I am praying that she returns to her normal self. There should be a support group for Breo users. It's that bad!"

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for COPD "OMG. Rescue inhaler wasn't enough any more. I was hesitant to be put on all kinds if meds. Well, I had no choice. The wheezing and coughing were unbearable. Not only to me but all those around me. Day or night. By the third day of using this no more use of inhaler. I have it always with me. So far GREAT! Hopefully I won't get negative side effects."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for COPD "I've been using Breo Ellipta for a couple of years - I have COPD. It works well to help me breathe. However, I experience dizziness sometimes when I take it. So I tend to not take it as I'm supposed to take it. I drive for a living and I can't drive if I'm dizzy. I won't risk it. This makes my employer pissed off, but hey at least I can breathe. I get hoarseness also. But it works. Its stops the wheezing. So I can sleep."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "Breo Ellpta made my asthma disappear. Great huh? Not so. I became extremely fatigued and would not leave the house anymore.I previously had been taking exercise classes 3 X a week and stopped them all. I was never able to go back. Breo made an old lady of me. Stopped after a few weeks of taking it."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "Thanks to all the lysol being sprayed in the office my asthma flared up and my doctor decided on Breo. It worked great the first 2 days minus the intense headache and palpitations (i called in sick both days). On the 3 day I had a very aggressive migraine 5mins after taking the inhaler. My left arm went numb up to my neck. Fortunately a benadryl seemed to help but I immediately started puking for the next 12 hours. I slept every minute I could but woke up to intense chills that made me puke again. Since this was a Saturday I had to wait til Monday to see my doctor. When they took my vitals I was hypertensive with 143 heart rate. While it's not uncommon my heart rate to be 100-110, my blood pressure rarely changes let alone spike to hypertensive levels. Now over a week later I'm stuck with dry irritated feeling lungs Again my flare up at the time was relatively minor and could have been treated way easier and cheaper with a standard steroid inhaler."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "I took BREO Ellipta for about 8 months and trailed off, which my doctor actually said was probably a good decision on my part. I just didn’t feel like I needed it as much. I was struggling with breathing paired with another health issue, so I went to see my pulmonologist. He put me back on BREO for a 1 month trial... and 4 days later I’d broken out in itchy hives. I assumed this was from something else, so my doctor gave me steroids to take. I finished my steroids 3 days ago and my rash is worse than ever and still worsening. I don’t know what else it could be.... Has anybody ever had this issue?!!"

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "I have been on Breo for a week now and I have totally forgotten that I have asthma. I have been battling for 3 years trying to find a steroid inhaler that actually helps with my symptoms. Before Breo, I was going through a rescue inhaler every 14 days even while being on other long lasting puffers. I feel like I have my life back. No more wheezing or tightness. My breathing is back to what is was before asthma. I have not experienced any bad side effects as of yet. I also like that this is a puffer I only have to take once a day in the morning when I wake up."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for COPD "So far, so good. I am very impressed with the results. I am breathing better than I have for quite some time and I use my rescue inhaler infrequently. My wife commented that she hadn't heard me cough at all today and my wheezing has stopped. I have experienced no side effects to speak of. The first time I took it my heart rate was elevated for a while but that's the only time it happened. I have been on it for a month."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "My doctor changed my medication from Advair & Ventolin to this new highly recommended medication Breo. This is my second week taken it. I don't need any more Ventolin and I have being used it 2 puffs every 4 hours for the past 25 years. I am taking one puff of Breo every 2-3 days and it works better than anything else that I have being trying on my entire life. Please note: I am eating tons of celery, this vegetable is magic. I think the combination of Breo and celery is amazing and my body is happy. Please don't forget to rinse your mouth immediately after the puffer otherwise you will have other side effects like sore throat."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "My nebulizer and my rescue inhaler were working but my pulmonologist wanted to wean me from both. Two days after starting Breo ellipta I started a wracking cough with ample sputum, sore throat, irritated sinuses, headache, nasal congestion, chest tightness, and unable to take a deep breath. I thought it was the flu or a bad cold and continued using it for a week while symptoms got worse. Doctor said I could also use the nebulizer if necessary, but found out the nebulizer nor the rescue inhaler had any effect while using Breo. Doctor stopped the Breo and in 36 hours all side effects disappeared except the cough which is definitely better. Will not take again."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "Have had asthma since age 12. Also just quit smoking 5 weeks ago. Started Breo 2015-ish. It was like a miracle drug! Couldn't believe I didn't need my rescue for months at time. Went thru 1 inhaler/month most of my life. Drawback of Breo is that it severely weakened my immune system. Started getting oral thrush every 2-3 months even after rinsing & gargling w/antiseptic. 2 years ago I started getting sick all the time. Last year had flu 2x, a respiratory infection and 3 stomach viruses. Took prednisone in January - I was told me to stop Breo because that was too much steroid. Haven't touched it since, & haven't gotten sick since. Also have anxiety and heart palpitations now, never had prior to using Breo. Now not smoking & not taking Breo in 7 months palpitations have lessened & anxiety starting to get better. Feel better since stopping Breo. It's quite a shame b/c my asthma was totally controlled while taking it, but still seems controlled. Hope I don't have to take it again!"

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "My doctor recommended 24-hours Breo to replace my Adaviar 250/50. In the first 4 days of taking Breo, I experienced most of the side affects of Breo (fever, chest infection, cough, mouth pain, excessive discharge, runny nose, sore throat, headache, back pain). I stopped taking Breo and went back to Advair. Will wait and see when the medication is improved. Thanks, Raed"

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for COPD "I used Breo one time only. It felt like I had drunk five cups of coffee. This medicine thoroughly effected my nervous system. I can't live like I'm drugged up for two seconds. I would rather take a short acting inhaler than feel drugged all the time. Breo is not for me."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for COPD "It has not worked for me. Blurred vision, lethargy, sore throat, vocal changes( hoarseness), tremor, difficulty in concentration are amongst the S/E experienced. Further, a persistent chest infection, which may be related to using Stelara for Crohn's Disease may have had some influence on the outcome. I'll get by with Atrovent!"

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "I've had asthma for 38 years. I've been life flighted 3 times for it and have hospitalized at least 50 times and spent time in ICU. As I got older it did not go away but did improve. My Dr gave me a sample of Breo and I've never had relief like this. It's the best inhaler of all time. I don't care if it comes out in 10 years that it was lethal. It helps me breath now."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "I started taking Breo Ellipta in November after my respirologist prescribed it after exposure to mould left me wheezing and coughing. I had a mild wheeze and often had to clear my throat. Within a month of taking this medicine, I had full on asthma; coughing wheezing, gasping for air. I realized I often got worse after taking my dose. After spending a good part of my day in emergency, I was switched to Flovent and am finally able to fully catch a breath. Not only did it not help me, it made me much, much worse"

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma "Referred to a lung specialist after a flu gave me a bad cough for over 5 months. Diagnosed with asthma. Received a sample of Breo 100. It definitely helped with the over abundance of mucus. But after a week developed insomnia, just couldn't stay asleep. Felt that irritable nervous feeling. I've decided to stop using the inhaler, now to wait for a good nights sleep."

Breo Ellipta (fluticasone / vilanterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "Improved my asthma symptoms quickly but the side effects made it unusable. Improved lung function within a day or two but had severe muscle spasms first in my right trapezius . Didn't relate it to drug at first so went to dr and started muscle relaxers and inflammation reduction meds. Unable to turn head at all by day 3 and not able to sleep because of pain. Discontinued Breo and symptoms were better within a few days. Restarted Breo a week later and had muscle spasm in upper thighs and neck by day two. I really liked the effect for my lungs but the pain and lack of function are not bearable."
