Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "I felt like I was dying. After using Flonase for a month, for the first time in my life I was experiencing anxiety and and panic attacks. Another night I was awoken by a horrible headache and vomited. The flonase made it so hard to breathe I could only take shallow breaths and my heart rate was way higher than usual. The only thing so could focus on was my breath and what’s wrong with me, I would have never known it was the flonase causing this if I didn’t look up the side effects online."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "(False advertising) They sell it in the hayfever section at the chemist for around $30 a bottle in New Zealand (NZ). I thought I'd try something new. It has been a nightmare, taken as directed, ended up with a stuffy nose for a whole week, itchy eyes, then when it got bad I also had a sore throat, coughing, pretty much feels like a flu, all congested up in the chest, feeling tired and hoping to wake up and it gone, its not normal. Wasted my money & time being sick and all at the end of the week."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I have awful allergies and have since I was a kid. At 30 years old I finally couldn't take it anymore, and gave in and started taking medicine. I take a prescription strength Claritin, and use Flonase, Fluticasone Propionate. I really like it because it takes effect immediately. I actually like the smell of it. It cracks me up because it is for allergies, yet smells like flowers. I noticed it works best if you blow your nose first and use it first thing in the morning. I did experience a mild nose bleed about a week into using it, but haven't had one since and I have been using it 4 months now."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "Like another reviewer, I developed daily, severe headaches that started at the base of the skull and neck and then traveled up the whole head. I had a deep pain in the nasal cavity and a horrible, dry cough. I don't think the cough is from the allergies, I think it's from the spray. The headaches are definitely from the spray as every time I try to use it, I develop them. I threw it in the garbage. My primary care doctor loves to tell me that it "all stays in the nose" and doesn't enter the rest of your body systemically which is total bull. How else could it cause glaucoma then and such a huge range of other symptoms that so may people have reported? Mine went in the trash can!"

Xhance (fluticasone) for Nasal Polyps "I have been on XHANCE for approx 2 weeks. I have nasal polyps and allergic fungal sinusitis. I have had 3 sinus surgeries. Frequent sinus infections. Always congested. I believed I would live with this condition forever. My ENT doctor at MUSC suggested I take this XHANCE nasal spray. I was reluctant for I had taken Flonase in the past and it had been unsuccessful. I am in disbelief how well this nasal spray has helped me. Although it has only been 2 weeks, I have seen a 98% improvement. No more sinus congestion or pressure. No more thick, green mucus coming from my sinuses. The spray doesn't sting or smell. I don't have a sore throat due to the medicine draining in my throat. I am able to sleep on both sides without issues. Life is so much better with XHANCE. If you have issues, have your physician prescribe this nasal spray. I also take Zyrtec and Singulair daily. I believe I would need this for the rest of my life. But at least it works!!!!"

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "Well great with the bad. Been using this medicine for two months now. This product worked great. It cleared my sinuses and got rid of the allergies, and it opened up the tubes from my eardrum to my throat where they could drain. But after two months I started getting joint pains, shoulder pains, bad and neck and other joints. It got so bad last week I went to the Doctor and had X-rays done, just some mild wear and tear about it. Then I got to looking up reviews and there it was a lot of joints pains and some mild aggression, moody. Well that summed it up never before had this trouble before Flonase. "

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "Do NOT buy this!!!!! Like other nose sprays, this does NOTHING to help your allergies. Unlike pills that actually work and cure all your allergy symptoms. Flonase does NOTHING but burn your nose and leave you with a very harsh aftertaste. Their ads are very misleading, and Flonase needs to be taken off the market for good. "

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "It works well, however causes AWFUL MENTAL SYMPTOMS. Mostly feeling off/depressed. I'm 100% it is Flonase. I stopped and they all left. I tried it again couple weeks later, BOOM, 5th day - when it starts working - depression. A side note that other similar class nasal sprays did EXACTLY the same to me. So all steroids do this to me."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I had a stuffy nose for 2 wks, tried afrin & over the counter meds and nothing worked. I used to take rx flonase about 10 yrs ago every allergy season so I figured it couldnt hurt to try. It took about 3 days and now my nose is almost completely cleared up. Before taking this I had sinus pain/pressure, a horrible smell when I blew my nose, constant runny nose, watery eyes. Most times I couldnt even blow anything out it was so clogged. Flonase works."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "I took this ONCE. I could not sleep all night - I went to bed at 10 and was up until 4 am. Every time I closed my eyes, I entered a lucid dream and started talking and woke myself up. It was so strange. The next day, I tried to nap and the same thing happened. Eventually, it went away. And I never took Flonase again."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "OMG! What a life saver I have had migraines for years and the seem to be sinus related more often then not I wake up in the middle of the night so stuffed up I can't breath and my headache begins, a breath rite helps a little. But I have tried just about everything, Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec, Advil & Tylenol Sinus, Nasacort, Rhino (something) and many others and nothing worked. The Advil Sinus and the old Tylenol sinus helped a little. My ear nose and throat doctor put me on Singular (pill). I bought this after see the commercials stating it blocks 6 types of allergies. Within in 12 to 24 hours I could tell it was helping by 48 hours it was a like a miracle! The pressure in my head, stuffiness, headaches (that were sinus related went away)"

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "I have been using this for 5 days now for Sinusitis, which I developed after a pretty significant bout with the flu. Because of prior condition in my sinuses in 2008 and inability to take the necessary antibiotic to resolve the condition, my sinuses were VERY FULL after this flu. I had severe pain in and behind my nose, under and above my eyes, etc. My ears felt like they would explode too. But, after these 5 days on Flonase and an antibiotic to treat the Sinusitis, I feel much better. I am, however, simultaneously taking supplements which aid in reducing inflammation and have altered my diet to dramatically reduce inflammatory-induced health problems. I believe lifestyle changes are the BETTER long-term solution, as steroids are NOT healthy."

Xhance (fluticasone) for Nasal Polyps "My doctor prescribed this medicine for me about 2 months ago after I tried many nasal sprays. I am completely free from congestion and very happy by the result. However, my sense of smell is not returned back yet. I am hopping that, I will be able to smell in the near future."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "Started taking Flonase and Claritin every day for sinus congestion and fluid in my ears. After using it for 2-3 weeks, my sinus were clear and the fluid in my ears changed to confusion, brain fog, a little dizziness. As a result, full blown anxiety. Never experienced any anxiety in my life. Reading similar posts on here. My question is how long after quitting Flonase and Claritin will I feel better? Day 8 right now and making very little progress. Any comments?"

Xhance (fluticasone) for Nasal Polyps "CVS substituted $900 Xhance for the $30 generic fluticasone my doctor prescribed for my allergies. They must be in collusion with the manufacturer. This product does nothing more than the generic of fluticasone except include a $870 piece of plastic that breaks and looks like a sex toy."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "Flonase SUCKS. The first two days I used it, I thought it was the greatest thing ever invented because my horrible allergies finally seemed to clear up. I forgot to take it one day and woke up in the middle of the night with a stopped up nose, so I took Flonase again as soon as I woke up. It was VERY ineffective that time. I got horrible headaches, insanely itchy eyes, a sore throat, and my mouth and lips were constantly dry. It has been a week since I've vowed to never use Flonase again, and I STILL have the WORST smell in my nose and mouth from that stupid allergy "reliever". If you're wondering if you should hop in your car, make the trip out, and purchase Flonase, I will let you know right now that, that is the biggest mistake."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "Flonase is NOT for treating allergies, it's for treating the inflammation in your nose caused by allergies, so I'm confused as to why people think it'll get rid of itchy/watery eyes and other symptoms. Confusing advertisement I guess. For nasal treatment it works just fine. As a nasal corticosteroid it can be used to treat nasal polyps over a period of time- which often happens with chronic infections/bad allergies. For that function it works well. I haven't had an issue with it. I'm usually able to breathe through my nose again within 15-20 minutes after application. Guess we'll see how it works over the long run."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "The disappointing thing is how effective Flonase is at immediately reducing my sinus inflammation / congestion. I say this because - through trial and error - I've determined that Flonase causes me too many adverse effects to continue use. Much like an episode of anxiety, it comes with racing heart and jittery feeling. My impression is that many doctors are either unaware of how common this tends to be, or presume that a certain number of patients are hypochondriacs. To be fair, health-care professionals do have to deal with their fair share of hypochondriacs. But I would still make the argument that this medication is not ideal for patients sensitive to Steroids (in general). Which is a widely accepted side-effect of Steroid medications - you're not crazy!"

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "I was googling 'Can Flonase make you anxious?' and came upon this particular site. I'm very glad that I did because I seem to have a high sensitivity to any steroid including nasal spray. My heart began racing more especially at night. My sleep was disrupted, I was tossing and turning, waking up with a racing heart, feeling like I couldn't breathe and I was very hot. I certainly will only use this in case of emergency. It's good to know there are others who experience the same as I did."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "I have really bad allergies that are pretty much year round now! I was taking Claritin D for months before I found Flonase! I took both for about 2 days and then no longer needed the Claritin! It was REALLY worth the money! Everything started clearing up within 24 hours...its been 5 days now and all my symptoms are gone!! Don't listen to the haters! This medicine is AMAZING! I told my dad about it, because he has allergies like me. He started it yesterday and I got a text from him today thanking me for telling him about it! He said he can already breathe again!"

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "Don't take this drug. I had horrible anxiety , paranoia like thoughts, heart palpitations, insomnia, my body was shaking and nightmares as well as being tired. Also, I had nausea, dry mouth and sore throat. It did help with stuffy nose. I took flonase on and off for several months. It look me a while to figure out why I was feeling so horrible and why I could not sleep. It might take weeks to feel completely better. When I stopped taking it the first time it took about 3 weeks then I took it again and then I realized Flonase was causing my symptoms. The anxiety is not listed as a side effect but in my case it was Flonase that caused it."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I am a 68 yr old woman and I used this medication for almost 2 weeks. I will never take this medication again. It relieved my seasonal allergies great (runny/stuffy nose and extremely watery eyes) but the side effects were not pleasant and absolutely not worth going through. I experienced; very bad muscular back pain close to my spine, had muscle aches that were all over the place, my hair and body became very very oily, and I had itching on my torso, face and back of head but no rash. The back pain was next to unbearable. All the symptoms have pretty much subsided after 4 days off of it. Never again for me."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "I took this because I was having trouble with allergies this year. I read the instructions and it said 1 squirt per nostril for children under 12 and 2 squirts per nostril for adults. I thought, well if children take this, it must be fine. NOT FINE. Racing heart. I mean you can feel it going to burst. My joints and muscles would tense up without realizing. I was driving and suddenly began thinking cars were going to hit me. I'm a delivery driver, so went straight home and then dealt with anxiety, rapid heart beat. It hate the way it made on day 1. On day 2 now, symptoms are subsiding but I can't believe that it is suggested kids take this stuff, it's dangerous. The best thing to do with this is throw it in the waste basket."

Flonase (fluticasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "This has changed my life. I had really bad allergies and would get sinus infections at least once every 2 months and everytime I was on a plane. I discovered flonase while on a trip and was at the end of my rope having antibiotics constantly and I tried the flonase as a last resort for some relief. It wasn't instant but the change was amazing. Since taking flonase i haven't had a infection since and have travelled extensively without any issue. I have recommended to a friend who has horrible allergies and it has helped her almost completely ease her symptoms and even stopped her snoring. Might not be for everyone but with regular use it has worked wonders for me"

Flonase (fluticasone) for Rhinitis "I got sick earlier this week with the flu, which triggered a sinus infection and bronchitis. My doctor prescribed OTC Flonase for the symptom of sinus congestion. I began taking Flonase, two squirts a day in each nostril, on Tuesday. While I was in the midst of the illness, with fever, body aches, and severe congestion and coughing, I did not think there was a problem with the fact that I could not taste or smell. It is the fifth day, however, and while my sense of taste has come back about 40%, my sense of smell has not come back at all. I became curious and looked up "Flonase and sense of smell" on the internet. Apparently, people are reporting loss of sense of smell when using this product. I hope mine comes back."
