" First of all, the worst side effect for me is the constant yeast infections. Never had one in my life until I started this pill, now I will have one constantly, cured for a week then it returns with vengeance. So dry down there, to the point where my partner and I had tension about one of us unknowingly carrying and STD (neither of us were) absolute horrific mood swings, you will become a completely different person. Nausea. Sweating. Weight gain. All of the things you don't want. It took me 3 months to realize this pill was the source of my misery. Do yourself a favor and stop it, there are so many better options out there ladies! Best of luck x o"

"I've been taking Tri-Previfem pill for a few months now. I was on Otho-Tricylen for years with no issues and then my insurance switched me to Tri-Previfem and its been awful. I now get headaches, stomach aches and my sex drive is very low. I am going to go back to Ortho-Tricyclen even if I have to pay for it out of my own pocket."

"I started taking this BC last year 11/2014 when I got the Mirena taken out due to bad acne. A few weeks after starting Tri-Previfem I started having hypoglycemic episodes after I run (~4miles ). Which continued after every run so I started taking supplements before and during my run to keep my blood sugar stable. Which helps partly and very annoying. But the last 2 months I had 2 hypoglycemic episodes in the morning without any physical activity. It's now 8/2014 and I've decided to stop taking them. Cons: hypoglycemia, stomach bloat during period Pros: no acne, regulated periods (precise day and round about time of day), minimal/no cramps."

"I hate this birth control!!! I used to be on Ortho tricyclone lo and I loved, never had any side effects or problems. I was switched to tri prevfiem 3 months ago and it has been awful from day one. I have severe headaches from the beginning of my period to the end. I've gained 10lbs. I have had a yeast infection every month since I've been on it. (I've never had yeast infections before). My mood swings are ridiculous. I never want to have sex. The list goes on. Do not get this birth control!"

"DO NOT TAKE THIS. there's no other way to put it. I've been on it for going on five months and ever since day one it has been awful. I've become severely depressed I cry all the time I feel nauseous 24/7. My anxiety has gone through the roof. I feel like my whole life has changed for the worse ever since I started this medicine."

"I love Tri-Previfem! The only side effect I experienced was a little weight gain during the first few months. My period was much lighter with fewer cramps and my sex drive remained completely normal. I have been taking Tri-Previfem for almost 5 years and I have been currently considering changing to the implant; being in college has created a very hectic schedule and I tend to skip pills constantly and fail to take them on time."

"I have been on theis birth control for almost three years. No pregnancy scares, so side effects, regulated my period, and I had had intense cramps for the 4 years I was on my period before I started taking this. Sick the entire week, couldn't walk and puking everyday. And since I've taken this birth control I have had cramps probably twice."

"It has been great for me I use it for both birth control and irregular menstral bleeding. I had no cycle for 3 months after taking it for a month I got my period no side effects. I am also taking spironolactone to help with fertility. I have full coverage so my insurance covers everything. if you have issues where you have to visit the gyno frequently I would suggest getting full coverage health insurance."

"I've been on the pill for over three weeks and the side effects are horrible. I've gained 10 lbs in just these three weeks. I've been bloating really bad and thought I was pregnant. I originally got on this pill for mainly my acne and the pill made it worse. I've woken up with terrible migraines and being nauseous. My moods swings are bad and sometimes I'm depressed because of the weight gain. I couldn't ride my horse the soreness of my breasts were terrible. I'm thinking about getting off this pill and trying a difference one."

"I took this birth control Tri-Previfem for 8 years. I just got switched today after talking to my OB/GYN and realizing that it was causing anxiety, depression, low sex drive, headaches and extreme mood swings the week before my period. I thought it was all normal or just me, but she said it was the medicine. I have now been switched too Mili. It did regulate my periods but I would have 7-9 days of fairly heavy bleeding each month, which is not supposed to be a thing. Very affective in preventing pregnancies as I have not been pregnant while taking it."

"I've been on this birth control for two weeks now, and I have had so many side effects. Sore breast, stomach cramps, bloating, and very bad acne. I would compare them to pregnancy symptoms. Really hate feeling like I'm pregnant, and it really helped seeing that other girls have had the same experience with this."

"This is the first birth control pill I have ever been on. I’m on my 3rd month and my acne is so awful it’s worse than it ever has been. My first period was perfectly fine but the second was absolutely awful worse than when I wasn’t even on birth control (I have been taking the pill at the same time everyday). Do not get this pill it’s awful."

"I am on day 3 of this pill and I felt awful the whole time. I constantly feel like I'm going to throw up after I take it which makes it difficult for me to sleep. I already have some anxiety but this birth control is making it to where I can't sleep and once I do sleep I can't stay asleep. I just lay in bed feeling hot, nauseous, and like I'm going to die. My anxiety is just getting so bad I will probably stop taking this medication."

"I started taking this medicine because my insurance wouldn't cover Ortho Tricyclen. This is only my second month, but I'm done - severe migraine throughout my period, tension headaches the rest of the time, and terrible over-bleeding, a problem I've never had with any other birth control."

"The first month of this pill I had breakthrough bleeding basically the whole month. I also had this terrible stomach feeling. The second month I had no bleeding and no weird stomach feelings. I just switched off to a lower dose pill due to my breasts growing 2 sizes and being extremely swollen (I was already a D I didn't want them any bigger!) and also I lost my sex drive completely. Happy to have had no emotional changes at all (in fact, I felt happier). Overall, this pill wasn't as terrible as all the reviews I've read made it out to be, but everyone is different."

"I didn't like this birth control and I know it affects everyone differently, but this was my first time on the pill and within the first 3 months I gained 20 lbs! I also had a lot of breast tenderness. Then I got switched to Syeda, and the 2nd month I was on it I had headaches daily that would not go away with ibuprofen or Excedrin. Then by the 3rd month I had headaches every other day. Not to mention on a daily basis I had breast tenderness and cramps every week except the first week of the start of my pills. And now I'm going to start the Depo Provera shot in two weeks, and I'm hearing mixed reviews with that."

"I started taking this pill due to mild acne and discomfort during menstruation--namely cramps and bloating. My acne has noticeably improved, as has my cramping! My periods are finally regular and predictable, with less bleeding! The main side effect I have dealt with is nausea during the first week of the pills, which is usually remedied by taking a tums or a mint. I have not experienced any weight gain or decrease in sex drive."

"I started with sprintec and it seemed fine...then they switched to previfem. I have horrible vaginal discharge almost everyday, I have cramps sometimes almost as bad as before I went on the pill. My period lasts just as long as before 5 days and is still super heavy. I do have unprotected sex with my boyfriend and haven't gotten pregnant yet so that's a plus. More cons, more emotional, sometimes chest pain, nausea, I'm ready to quit. Only pro can predict when period is coming and not being pregnant"

"I never had a problem with birth control until I switched from the brand Ortho-Tricylcen to Tri-Previfem. It was ok for the first month of use but after that I found that this medication caused me to have heightened anxiety, loss of appetite, and even nausea. Bottom line- I'm switching back to what I was on before because of these side effects!"

"Works wonderfully. My acne is relatively clear and I no longer have cramping the day I start my period. My period lasts about 5 days from the previous 7. It is much lighter too. I have had no issues with this medicine."

"I've been on this pill for roughly 6-7 months now and at first everything was going great. the past month or so however, I've had the most horrible anxiety, panic attacks, and irritability ever. Even more recently I've had nausea to the point where I'm throwing up periodically through the night. My anxiety was so bad I was having so many negative thoughts and didn't have the motivation to do much anymore. I couldn't come up with any other explanation until I thought about my birth control. I'm stopping immediately and will be seeing my doctor soon to switch pills hopefully!"

"I'm 28, no children. I've been on this birth control for about 5 years and have just one complaint - it gives me high blood pressure. High BP runs in my family, so I am switching from this birth control to another one. Apart from the high BP, this birth control has been fantastic. My skin has never looked better, I didn't gain weight, nor did I experience mood swings. Occasionally I had spotting between periods, but it was never anything that disrupted me. I know everyone is different, but my experience was great."

"Tried 3 different birth controls over the past year and finally felt like this one worked. It fixed my bleeding problems and regulated my cycle. Month by month I stared noticing the nausea getting worse and worse. Now are 4 months on this pill I've decided to stop taking it because it makes me sick as a dog. My breast are tender almost all of the time and my sex drive has basically vanished. Wish there was something out there that worked for me but this is definately not it"

"This is the 3rd brand I've ever tried after having horrible side effects from the first two. For a while this pill really worked for me, and I thought I finally found my brand. But a lot of little things like rapid heart rate, headaches, and frequent infections I finally linked to this. I never got pregnant and it regulated my periods well. But eventually my body started rebelling against this pill and it wasn't worth it."

"I had been taking the name-brand of this contraceptive for probably 18 years. Then my insurance decided it would only pay for generic. I started this one in October. By Thanksgiving I had a raging allergic rash on most of my body. ER dr wrongly diagnosed me, and after 2 other dr visits and a biopsy, they discovered it was an allergy to this drug. It is now mid-February, and after 3 rounds of steroids, I STILL have some of the rash. Torture for sure!"
