For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Originally was put on Levlen as a last resort to treat my Menorrhagia, after 6 months it eventually made my cycle normal-ish, which was great after dealing with that for 2 years. Experienced enormous weight gain, since going on it 3 years ago, I have doubled my weight, exercise, and diet hasn't stopped the weight gain, heaviest I've been in my life. It has happened to other members of my family with taking Levlen, so it might not happen to everyone. Had a lot of fainting, passing out 6 months in, my GP didn't really look into it. My mental health got worse on it too, huge difference in my mood, developed clinical depression, and anxiety. When I stopped taking the pill there was huge difference in my overall mood."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Levlen is a product I have used for the last three years in order to regulate my periods (I have amenorrhea). Without the aid of hormones, I do not have a proper cycle and therefore have been on "versions" of the pill since fifteen. Levlen is just as good as any, and (for me) the contraceptive ability is an added bonus."

For Endometriosis "I was diagnosed with endometriosis and put on Levlen to help reduce the length and pain of my periods. I would have periods that lasted over a month, they are now drastically shorter. They are also much lighter and the pain is much better. I would need to take Advil multiple times a day but now I can usually go without it. I've been on it for about four years and from memory I didn't have any side effects when I first started it, although I think it took a few months to really start working effectively. I know other people have said they got bad cystic acne, I used to break out during my period but I have found it is actually now much better, however I still do get a bit. Also, being able to skip periods is really great."

For Birth Control "Hi, i am 23 years old. I was on Levlen for 4 months. I don't want to say anything bad about this pill but I will share my experience. The first month was constant headaches, no breakthrough bleeding, and on off heartburn. Second month I begun breaking out on my chin as long as heart burn and headaches. Third month the breakouts got really bad and extremely painful and I begun getting ‘dermatitis’ around both my eyes and lips. By my forth month, I had constant headaches, heartburn every few days and the dermatitis got worse as well as the acne. Might I add, I never had acne prior to this. But I must say, birth control and period pain wise, it was incredible. I did gain weight on this pill but i didn't mind because period pain wise prior pill, was extreme."

For Birth Control "Hey all! I would just like to say I am day 5 into taking this pill and it sucks so far! I have been throwing up and feeling nauseas all day. This all started today( 3am) the pills before completely fine but now I feel like crap. I'm laying in bed trying to figure out what is going on with me.. and it turns out so far 1 other lady has had the same issue. When I showered and I dried myself I noticed a thick. White clumpy smelly discharge type. I have done research and all is saying a yeast infection... as what another lady has said. So far the experience is rubbish I will be looking into getting a implanon and see how I go there. I don't like the inconvenience of taking a pill every day. I will give this pill a go but I won't be sticking around for feeling like rubbish everyday... NO THANK YOUUU"

For Endometriosis "I started this pill as I was told I had endometriosis and this would help with the pain. For the first few months it was great and helped with my pain. About 4 months in I was told I have dermatitis on my face. This has lasted nearly 2 years now. !! It’s horrible and I rely on steroid creams to control the flare ups. I’ve also realised I'm angry and moody for no reason at all. I’ve just started to break out around my mouth and chin area which I never had before. I gained 10kg in the first year and now I fluctuate but all up I’ve gained 14kg. Will definitely be changing"

For Endometriosis "Changed to the lower dose form of Levlen after experiencing anxiety attacks from Yasmin. Just 2 months into the pill, anxiety has gone out of control, blood pressure was raised tremendously and had to be put on antidepressant to counteract the effects. Think twice before starting a pil."

For Birth Control "I was on levlen for about 2yrs. When I started levlen it took me roughly 3 months to "settle" into. 3months of spotting/bleeding through the active pill, moodiness and eating anything and everything to do with food as well as the odd food craving.... So you guessed it weight gain. I'm a bit of a push over so this is why I stuck it out for so long. After the 3 months I went back to normal, and me exercising got rid of the extra weight. My eating habits went back to normal and I was back to my normal placid self. My partner and I are VERY sexually active and no pregnancies and no scares. Long story short, besides 3months of me being the worst kind of person with a passion for food, it did it's job very well and I was easily able to skip my period when I wanted with no spotting/bleeding in between. P.S if I skipped my period I was bloated for almost a week."

For Birth Control "The only thing good that came out of Levlen was not getting pregnant. Other than that, my anxiety and depression got worse (now I have to go on medication), my periods got heavier and more painful, and I continued to get acne but also I got severe chronic migraines after being on it. I also completely lost all sex drive and this caused issues between me and my partner. Now I have a copper IUD and likely cannot ever have any other hormonal birth control when this wouldn't have been an issue before. It also increased issues with my other chronic illnesses and I became more fatigued and struggled to do anything in the afternoon"

For Birth Control "Levlen works as a birth control. Was given it as a generic. Sadly it completely disrupted my hormones. First month had breakthrough bleeding. After that I lost my period. I stopped taking it after finishing the one box and my period has never properly returned since and it’s been over a year. Had ultrasound scans and my uterine lining is close to non-existent. I would rather pay more money than receive this ever again."

For Birth Control "5 years ago I took Levlen for 12 months and it has given me mild neutropenia to the point I had to go see a blood doctor. After stopping with Levlen immediately my white blood cells were going up again. Had serious health issues in the past (also gut polyps), bloating and constipation and would recommend to stay far away from this product!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been prescribed this birth control after having several problems with the implannon. I had side effects including breast tenderness and sweats for the first month of taking this pill. After a month on this pill, the side effects disappeared! It's the best thing I have taken as I have no outbreak of irregular periods and have more control of my cycle. I would recommend this product!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Levlen ED for 3 years, first pill my friend ever prescribed me. Ever since I started my mood swings have been horrid, I gained weight and have not been able to get it off regardless of the calorie deficit or training I do, and I was able to eat so much beforehand and I’m consuming less now... I developed symptoms of anxiety and depression and I recently went back to my doctor after multiple breakdowns in the past year and decided: no it has to be the pill and I was told that Levlen ED is the worst for mood swings and negative mental health effects... glad I was informed now. Would not recommend, yes it helped my skin, periods (used to get horrendous 10 day heavy bleeds with cramps that left me lifeless), contraceptive use and that’s about it."

For Birth Control "I had been on Levlan for over 10 years. I started at 67kg and now weigh 83kg. I do a lot of weights training and am a PT so I don’t blame all the weight gain on the pill. Biggest change I noticed was the way I reacted and my emotions with certain things. Past 6 to 9 months my anxiety has definitely exacerbated to a point where I’ll feel differently every hour from being super anxious to feeling numb. My mind would be going a hundred miles an hour and I would be snapping at my Mother constantly over the littlest things. The week before my period I would have intense PMS and would have to constantly tell myself that it’s just PMS week. The week of my period my moods would lift and the bloat would go away then once I’m back on the active tablets the moods and bloating would come back I’m trialling a month of the pill. It’s day 6, I’ve had bleeding/withdrawal for 5 days and I can think properly again without brain fog, nervousness and all day tiredness"

For Birth Control "I've had a wonderful experience on Levlen 20/100. I moved to this pill about 5 years ago from a higher dose because I didn't want to be taking more hormones than necessary. I will eventually want to wean off birth control. I originally went on a higher dose pill for acne as a teenager. My skin is perfect on Levlen during times where I'm also cutting back on sugar, drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep. I'll get a couple of pimples mainly on my chin if I'm not watching my diet/sleep/water intake. My period is maybe 2 days - I actually stopped using menstrual products because I found my period was so light it barely needed anything. I occasionally get slight cramps for a couple hours on the day but otherwise I don't even think about my period. No mood swings as far as I can tell (although I've been on birth control for 10 years so I don't know what it would be like without any BC). My experience is likely influenced by the fact that I am quite fit and do a lot of exercise."

For Birth Control "I received a prescription for levlen ED about two weeks ago. My doctor warned me that some brands of birth control can trigger people that suffer from migraines, which I used to suffer from but haven’t in a long time. I made the switch to the pill after a bad experience with the implanon, but I’ve only been using levlen for one week and I’ve come to realise it’s worse than the implanon. Every day I’ve experienced migraines and nausea, and have had an outbreak of cystic acne ( I’m 19 and have never had acne in my life), as well as developing a yeast infection. Switching brands ASAP or going off birth control completely, this pill isn’t worth the money or side effects based off of my personal experience."

For Birth Control "I took this when I was about 20 years old. For not quite 3 weeks. I got the worst nausea and had to take Maxolon to help with that. I remember when the anti-nausea medication wore off and I rushed to the bathroom, so sure I was going to puke. I didn't, but whoa! I looked at myself in the mirror and said "No pill ever again" and I've stuck with that! Shocking what this pill does. And I took this years ago when the hormone dosage levels were far higher than they are now! It's not surprising how horrible so many women's experiences are on here. Being on the OCP is basically pretending to your body that you're pregnant, among other things. Nausea, sleep problems, weight gain, acne, lack of libido; you name it. The list of side-effects of Levlen ED is disastrous. AVOID THIS PILL. Honestly, if you want all those symptoms from this pill, just get pregnant! A least you get a cute little baby at the end of it!"

For Birth Control "Just started Levlen around 2 months ago. Now I know that there is no proof that the pill causes weight gain, however as soon as I started on this pill I noticed a huge difference in my hunger levels. I’m usually one to lose weight quite quickly and “shake it off” but I just can’t seem to get rid of it. Also have started to get bad acne/pimples mostly around the chin area. Libido has completely disappeared and I just don’t feel like myself. Will give it another month but keen to try another pill."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "After 13 years on Diane35 (Estelle) I switched to Levlen. At first it seemed fine and for quite a long time it appeared to be keeping my PCOS under control. Around the two year mark hair growth and acne reappeared at quite a fast pace and nothing I tried seemed to help. After 6 months of battling acne I’ve moved back to Diane35."

For Birth Control "I have been on Levlen for 2 months now. Months ago, I was on Yaz and it went terribly after 2 weeks, with painful break outs, mood swings, feelings of depression, panic attacks, and random bouts of anger. Levlen has been amazing. None of the side effects I once experienced, and my skin has cleared up! Plus, I'm not pregnant! I would recommend Levlen if you're unsure which pill to try, as it's a good price."

For Endometriosis "My GP prescribed Levlen to control my abdominal pain. I have nearly finished the first month and rather than stopping my period it seems to have had the opposite effect - never ending period. I had some nausea initially, but this has substantially reduced. In addition to my normal period pain, I have experienced unusual mood changes (anger, anxiety, flat affect). Further, it seems to have caused a flare in my Lupus symptoms (joint and muscle pain). Overall, it feels like my batteries have been drained. I know this works for some people, but I personally regret taking it."

For Birth Control "Levlen made me a psycho! Felt like years of emotional rollercoasters and anxieties. I am literally so much more chill now that I’ve been off it for over 5 months. If you’re having relationship issues because you’re a moody person with mental health issues then I recommend trying a different contraceptive option. It works well as a pregnancy deterrent but so not worth it."

For Birth Control "Started this Levlen last August and as of writing this review I’ve been using it for about 7 months. It did take about 2 months for me to settle into it which killed my libido, and my bleeding was abnormal (spotting, super long periods of 7+ days, unpredictable period starting days) but probably since November it’s been well. My periods come exactly when the pack says it should (though very heavy the first 2 days) and my libido is back to normal. I’ve had no issues with mood swings though that might be attributed to my other meds. I also take Lovan (an SSRI) so my libido for the combination for these two is pretty good."
