For Birth Control "I got off this birth control at the beginning of the year and I just got back on it a month and a half ago. On the 5th week I got my period and now it’s the 6th week and I’m still on my period and I’m getting a little over having it. This never happened before when I was on it for 3 years. I don’t know if I should just get off the birth control or get something new. I just got back on it one more time so I wouldn’t have my menstrual on vacation."

For Birth Control "So I had to switch my pharmacy because the one I had used for years closed and I had to pick up my birth control and the pharmacist gave me "Ashlyna" which I never took before. I have been taking the same birth control for 5 years and they have never changed my prescription. I am very regular with taking my pill every morning when I wake up. I started to take it and I had gotten my period for 3 and 1/2 weeks. Though I am on the pack where I am supposed to get my period one week every 3 months. I called my doctor and she explained they never changed my prescription so she wrote a note to my new pharmacy stating I can only take the name brand "Teva Camrese" which I have been taking for 5 years. I Went to pick up my regular birth control and it has been 4 days since I started taking it again and my period is finally gone. The Ashlyna birth control sucks and it made my acne and mood swings awful. I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I was on another pill before pregnancy and it. Worked great. Then after having a baby my OB suggested Ashlyna. I’m not a big fan because it feels like I’m on my period every week and it stops for a week and back on my period consistently. They say you’re supposed to have your period every 3 months but I’ve had it for 2 months and some days I feel like it’s over but it come back the next day. Not a big fan"

For Birth Control "I started Ashlyna to control my heavy periods. When my doctor told me about this birth control and that I would only have my period every 3 months, jumped on it. Now everyone is different so this is my experience. I was on another type of birth control and it worked great for 3 years , light bleeding for 4 days and I was very regular, like clock work. Then I noticed my periods started becoming heavy again , large clots and painful cramps. When my doctor told me about Ashlyna , switched to it. The first 2 weeks went fine. Week 3 into the first pill back I started bleed, cramps, major mood swings and bad hot flashes. I have now been bleeding for 3 weeks and still going, still have the mood swings, cramps and hot flashes and I just don't feel like myself. Need less to say, I called my doctor and told her I am not taking it not more and I want to switch back to my other pill. I will deal with 4 day of heavy bleeding and cramping. Ashlyna is not the birth control for me."

For Birth Control "Ashlyna was my second birth control. I was on a monthly one, but I have such miserable cramping during my period that I would get sick. My doctor recommended Ashlyna so the frequency of my pain would be decreased to 4 times a year rather than monthly. However, I’m extremely disappointed. She told me to give it some time... so I made it through the first three months and spotted just about every week; along with the spotting was some slight cramping. I’ve decided to keep trying with it... I’m going on a year on this medication and it has done horrible for me. I can last about a month-month and a half with no period now, but then I’ll have it for a month straight with miserable cramping the entire time for the last month. Then I get to the actual week I should have my period and it’s heavy with awful cramping. Along with all of this, I’ve noticed changes in my energy and weight... sadly not positive changes. I’m about to go to my doctor to be taken off."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Ashlyna birth control pill along with spironolactone (aldosterone blocker) by my dermatologist for cystic acne and to level out my hormone imbalance. Biggest pro of this birth control is my skin- it is literally porcelain, I’ve never seen it so clear. HOWEVER, the hormones are wild. I am definitely more depressed, anxious, fat, and just generally more emotional on this stuff than ever before. I stopped for 2 months this summer just to see the difference after about 2 years of being on it consistently and yes I was much happier and active and even more social but my skin turned really bad again so I’m back in my black hole with perfect skin. It’s a love hate thing. Enter at your own risk."

For Birth Control "I was on Ashlyna as my first ever birth control, after the first 3 months of adjusting to the hormonal changes, my skin cleared up after battling with cystic acne my entire life since puberty in 5th grade, I was 32 when I started Ashlyna. All of my PMDD symptoms disappeared, my skin cleared up and my entire mood was overall better on Ashlyna. The only reason I stopped taking it was because I was getting yeast infections every month instead of my period, and even during months I would get my period, I’d also get a yeast infection. I had never had a yeast infection in all the years prior to me taking this BC so I stopped taking it and coincidentally, the yeast infections stopped too. I would still be taking this BC if it weren’t for the yeast infections."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control Ashlyna for close to 3 years. I discontinued use 2 months ago. A couple months after starting this birth control, I started having severe panic attacks where I would blackout daily. My mood swings were insane. My depression was at an all time low. I was miserable, but I didn’t think a birth control could be causing all this. My periods were painful and made me nauseous, which isn’t normal for me. I didn’t experience spotting, but when I tried to skip over my placebo pills to avoid a period, I still bled. Since I’ve been off, it my mood has improved tenfold and my periods aren’t painful or heavy."

For Birth Control "About 7 weeks in my first pack, I started spotting for 2 1/2 weeks which then turned into a full on HEAVY period for another week. My doctor said to stay on it, things should level out. During the 7 week placebo pill, nothing happened. Went several more weeks with no period, then a 3 day period. Followed 3 1/2 weeks later with another 8 day period. I've had the worst acne of my adult life with Ashlyna causing huge painful pimples under the skin that will not go away. My husband says I am moody. Definitely low libido. I'm going to try one more 13 week pack after I finish this one. If things don't level out, I need to do something different."

For Birth Control "I came to Ashlyna from Depo, which also gave me horrible side effects. Ashlyna has given me abnormal spotting daily for months. I get killing migraines that last for days even with medication. I originally had gained 20lbs when I first started taking it. I've been on it for a year and I'm done. I get horrible mood swings and cramping like I've never ever had before. I no longer get periods at all, but still the spotting and horrible pain. I have no sex drive what so ever. I have had 2 bacteria infections while being on it, never once had one before. This sounded great at first, but it honestly isn't worth it if I have to be in pain all day.."

For Birth Control "This birth control started off fine but after a month of being on it I had awful dark brown discharge that eventually turned into bleeding. I bled for nearly two months and then started my period and had a much heavier flow and major cramps and bloating. I also became more prone to migraines & extreme headaches after drinking any amount of coffee. However, I didn’t gain weight on this pill, nor did I have any nausea problems. When I was on my period while on this pill, I did feel foggy and dizzy at times. My doctor took me off this pill after 3 months."

For Birth Control "I’ve only been taking Ashlyna for about a month and a half. I’ve had a few bouts of extreme dizziness and nausea preventing me from leaving the house (didn’t think it would be wise to drive nor could I properly socialize). My breasts have gotten increasingly sore and I think they’ve gotten a little bigger (which at a 32G is quite annoying but to others perhaps not). If I don’t eat properly and or don't have a large meal, I get sooo hungry I get dizzy and nauseous. I’ve gained a couple pounds, but I also haven’t been working out as much. I woke up tonight with an elevated heart rate and feeling nauseous. Like others I feel overly tired even though I usually make it to bed before 11, but I can barely make it out of bed in the morning at 9 or 10. I originally started this as my periods were getting really bad, I wanted another option to control my acne and peace of mind for sex. I’ll probably keep taking this but if the nausea and dizziness doesn’t go away I might try to switch"

For Birth Control "I started this pill back in December 2018 in hopes of having a period every 3 months due to bad cramps. Well, let me just tell you, this pill is AWFUL. I have been spotting for a month, my hair is falling out like crazy, mood swings and depression and I'm constantly tired. I am currently on month three and I'm getting off of this mess as soon as possible. I highly recommend looking into other birth control."

For Birth Control "I am a dumb person and stopped taking birth control because I have PCOS and don’t have a period or anything unless I’m on birth control. I starting dating this guy and and wanted to get back on birth control, but didn’t want to bleed every month, so my dr recommended Ashlyna. It was fine for the first month, and then around the middle of the second month, I started bleeding a little. I bled for over a month straight and had horrible cramps, even though I had never experienced cramps or any period symptoms before. I also went through like 10+ super plus tampons a day and had to wear pads at the same time. After I bled for so long, I was told to double up on the pill to stop the bleeding, but I ran out early and my insurance wouldn’t cover me to refill. In order to avoid that from happening again, my Dr suggested for me to stop taking anything for a week, and then start a generic pack. Now I bleed every month, but it’s better than the alternative."

For Birth Control "I'm 43yrs old and was looking for fewer periods per year. Since I've had no issues in the past, a hysterectomy would be considered "elective"..Well no issues till NOW.. 3 doctors and one urgent care visit later, I'm still bleeding. Its been 2mths none stop, to the point I've now become anemic. Extremely fatigue and no sex drive. I feel like I'm losing my mind and that no one understands how incredibly bad this is for me. Now I've got another appt with yet another doctor and hopefully she'll be able to get this under control.. Seriously explore ALL your options, and if you can avoid this medication..DO SO.. PLEASE save time and frustration. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION"

For Birth Control "I kept having breakthrough bleeding but my face did clear up. In the beginning I had mood swings, suicidal thoughts and headaches, but I pushed through it. This specific birth control didn't work with my body's chemistry, but keep in mind any birth control is a trial and error. I use to take a 30d one that was perfect but I didn't want my period so frequently. So I'll keep trying until I find one that works with my body."

For Birth Control "I am currently on the last week of the 2nd month of the Ashlyna (Seasonique) brand of this. As far as periods go, I haven't had any bleeding and this is working great for that. However, since I've started this brand I have gained a ton of weight. I am on other medication for depression, but I've been on that for over a year so the birth control definitely isn't helping. I would make sure to take in account weight gain this may cause before deciding on this particular brand."

For Birth Control "I'm going on my 3rd week taking this and for me it has caused, In the first week or two, a lowered libido (sex drive) and vaginal dryness.. and I'm 16!! even when I'm with my bf and I'm turned on, I'm not even really wet at all.. and this causes irritating and painful sex unless you have lube. Before this I had no problem getting wet. This is the first brith control I've ever been on so I don't know if all this is supposed to go away after a couple or few months but honestly I don't think it's worth it. I've also been experiencing breast tenderness (usually in the morning, it feels like I'm going through puberty all over again lol) perhaps and little bit of breast enlargement (which hey, I'm not complaining about) and abit of mood swings"

For Birth Control "I have been on the three month no period, one week of period form of this medication for approximately 3 weeks. It was prescribed by my doctor to help with the extreme cramps and various symptoms I get during my period in spite of me being a smoker. In the last week or so, I have been noting several worrying side effects and I am not sure that I will continue this medication. My heart rate is increased from a good, normal range to almost always high (high 80s-125 resting). I wake up at night to swollen, tingly hands and have difficulty sleeping. Tired frequently. Today I had to go to urgent care because of one of the worst pains I've ever had in my stomach area, may or may not be related but I read something about it on this site."

For Birth Control "This birth control made me an emotional wreck. I took it for 2 weeks! The only thing that had changed in my life was taking this birth control. I turned into a immature sensitive baby. Also a VERY possessive person. I was very moody. My husband was walking on eggshells. The sound of him breathing would set me off. It was like a switch flipped. Anyone in my way, better RUN. I had asked my doctor for the Nuvaring, since having it before worked well for me. The pharmacy stated it was 640.!! That is how I came to this birth control. Spent 180 for 3 months supply of this to end up taking 2 weeks. I know that everyone responds differently to birth control. Just needed to share."

For Birth Control "So I'll start off by saying that I use to be on Camrese (another generic of Seasonique). I use to get through my second month of pills & then I would spot for almost the entire 3rd month up until my period. Period weeks were short & sweet, but a downside was every couple months I would randomly get heavy cramping in the middle of the night. I am on my first pack of Ashlyna & so far it's been great. I am currently on my period week & only spotted for 2 days before my placebo week. I do get a little emotional, but it's the holidays too. I should be jumping for joy, but since this is my first pack I don't know how to feel that I've still only been basically spotting all week. I'll have to see where I'm at after a few more packs but so far so good"

For Birth Control "I know birth control affects everyone differently. And I happy for the people who enjoyed this birth control. But I did not. I was placed on this to manage my endometriosis. When I started taking it, the first two weeks were constant crying and shaking from my anxiety sky rocketing. It slowly adjusted but still had panic attacks and my depression got worse. All of my physical problems went away. But it made my emotional and mental issues MUCH worse. By the 3rd month I was mostly adjusted and starting to feel like myself again... until I took the pills for my period... Then it started all over again!!! I decided to stop taking them. And my body is still adjusting after almost two months. I would MUCH rather deal with the physical pain."
