"My hands were so painful from arthritis and carpal tunnel that I was missing work, barely able to do any housework (anything that I needed to use my hands for). I'd been getting worse over 6 months and seriously considering going on disability. I was given the prescription for the gel. I put it on as directed and by that night I had relief. I was able to do my job the next day like I haven't for months. This is a miracle for me. Not even strong pain meds worked. I just hope this isn't temporary."

"I was prescribed Diclofenac Sodium tablets for emergency medicine regarding my Chronic Paroxsymal Hemicrania. It was ineffective at alleviating any pain. I'd feel a small reduction in pain level for about 30 minutes then it would spike back up. It caused my blood glucose to shoot up and I am non-diabetic. It also caused me a great deal of stomach cramps, burning pain below sternum, belching, heartburn and diarrhea. I had better response on Ibuprofen and that did very little."

"I was diagnosed with pleurisy yesterday - intense pain on inhalation/yawning/coughing etc - in fact anything that involved inflating the lungs felt like I was being stabbed in the side. Was prescribed Dicloflex (Diclofenac sodium in UK) in 3 x 50mg tablets a day. Didn't seem to make a lot of difference the first day, so I continued using Paracetamol codeine for pain relief. Today I've been a lot more comfortable - it seems like it took three doses to get started. I was even able to yawn earlier and I spent a little time sleeping lying down this morning - both of which would've been impossible yesterday."

""Had immense pain, discomfort and stiffness in my hip joint. My GP prescribed me Diclofenac, and it provided instant relief and reduced the inflammation straight away as after just one dose I could move again like almost normal. Two more doses the next day but then had to discontinue due to the unacceptable side-effects: heart palpitations, hot flushes, restlessness, minor anxiety. But I must state here though for you that I can hardly tolerate Ibuprofen or any NSAID pain-killer for that matter, of late that is. Earlier, I´d tolerate medicines like sweets, but after taking Ciprofloxacin 14 months ago, and that has messed up my whole system: I've even developed a number of food intolerances as well. So, it might still work better for you."

"Doesn't alleviate pain or discomfort. Physicians prescribe it often, but diclofenac nor naproxen have ever worked for me for any ache or pain. The only non-narcotic drug that works for my knee pain is ibuprofen. Going forward, I won't fill the prescription if a doctor insists. I will take my chances with 800 mg of ibuprofen since my stomach has never given me trouble while taking that amount."

"After being born breech, and having both hips dislocated at a time when operations were not thought of. Then giving birth to 7 wonderful children in a short stretch of time. The stress to my hips has taken a crippling tole. I was rarely ever able to get myself out of bed without the feeling of train spikes stabbing into my hips. Voltarane gel enabled me to start my day but the Diciofenac slow release 75mg. Allows me to work my eight hours and come home to enjoy time with my kids instead of going directly to bed in too much pain to live life."

Cataflam (diclofenac) "I was given Toradol for five days post operation (which is another wonderful medication) and Loratab to take along with it. I never had the need or desire to take the latter. But after Toradol was gone (I was able to stretch it over nine days) I still needed something else. I began to take Naproxen over-the counter strength and the pain and stiffness gradually came back. I had Cataflam, which after 2-3 dosages, controlled the discomfort that was building up. "

"This drug is an excellent anti-inflammatory. For me however, it did nothing for pain. I had recent shoulder surgery for the third time in my life, and this was prescribed for inflammation and pain. As it did decrease the inflammation, the side effects were not worth it. I developed stomach cramps, and severe diarrhea."

"Unexplained cruelty explains why Dr at hospital gave me this script when discharged. I have 3 ribs with 4 breaks, a punctured lung that's partially collapsed due to an accident. While at hospital I received percocet and/morphine which enabled normal breathing and mobility. Now, with only diclofenac and ibuprofen to aid me I'm in agony! My lungs are becoming congested from inability to cough or breath deeply, too much pain. No noted side effects except possibly facial puffiness. The puffiness could be due to so much advil. Diclofenac is NOT for pain stemming from an injury. Prescribing this a terrible insult to a patient suffering crippling, quantifiable pain. It may prove useful for minor injuries like sprains, strains or contusions perhaps"

"I've been having all over muscle and joint pain. I tried everything OTC and nothing helped. Saw a rheumatologist who prescribed diclofenac. The next day my pain was greatly diminished and I was able to use my left arm again! The itching I was experiencing before this medicine has intensified over the past week. Don't know if that's a side effect. I didn't take it at all today and the pain is unbearable. Calling doctor in the morning."

"I have a few problems posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, pain due to large uterine fibroid, plus general joint and muscle aches (cause as yet undiagnosed). My doctor put me on diclofenac because of concerns that I was taking too much ibuprofen, but the diclofenac did almost nothing. Once it kicks in, I have mild pain relief for up to three hours max. It doesn't help uterine pain at all. I took it twice a day for weeks and it never helped. Also had diarrhea and upset stomach. Ibuprofen was infinitely better than diclofenac."

"After almost a year of taking this I am stopping due to side effects. Weight gain, bloating, fluid retention, confusion, speech, and a few others. I was prescribed this medication for pain associated with asymptomatic lupus, fibro, and neuropathy as well as dynia and arthritic symptoms. It helped with the neuropathy pain to keep me moving but this medication has run its course with me and the multiple side effects I am experiencing outweigh the initial benefit. Worked for the neuropathy and took the edge off of any pain. Its not for me long-term due to the side effects. In conclusion, it has run its course with me."

"Since February 2020, I’ve had shooting pain that seems to come from an ache at the right rear base of my skull. It has become almost unbearable. Sometimes in my neck, sometimes in my upper back, and almost always in my shoulder, down the outside of my bicep, into my lower arm. Also, my right hand sometimes has numbness. I was prescribed Diclofenac Sodium 75mg TBEC, 1 x twice p/d. It does absolutely nothing."

Voltaren (diclofenac) "I was prescribed this medication for joint pain and swelling in the elbows and feet. Took for 2 months. Last week my doctor had to take me off because I developed allergy to the medication with rash and low fever. Worked okay but not worth the allergic reaction."

"Diclofenac Sodium was prescribed I had my reservations however following the instructions approximately 1 week past and to my surprise because of such damage that it worked. I followed the instructions and the pain isn't unbearable now it even appears the size of my knee has diminished somewhat. I can walk ! Without limping the crackling noises that was coming from my knee also has subsided. I am extremely grateful for Diclofenac Sodium I recommend this easy to use."

"I have AVN and I began taking the medicine before core depression surgery. I almost decided not to have the surgery as the medicine worked so well. I take it now once a day as I recover from the surgery and it works really well. I don't have to take hydrocodone any more. My doctor says I will have to stop taking it soon. I have had a stomach ulcer 15 yrs ago and he is concerned but I take Zantac and I have had no side effects as of yet. It has been three months."

Voltaren (diclofenac) "After seeing the foot doctor for what I described as pain off and on as if my toe was broke or spur. I was given voltaren and it seems to work at times, the biofreeze did nothing for arthritis pain, so I give voltaren thumbs up for temporary relief."

"Works great, I have joint pain, muscle pain, (also back pain, limb cramps) best for joint/muscle pain and some help for back pain. If you have had stomach surgery, have to use cautiously. But EXCELLENT results. Stops lung/joint/muscle pain when nothing else will. Does assist the morphine and norco for back pain as well."

"My GP was originally going to go with a three times a day painkiller/anti-inflammatory, but I asked for a once a day. He prescribed diclofenac, 100 mg. I like the once a day, but for my foot aggravation and pain have just not noticed it as being all that effective. I did have the side effect of sensitivity to sun."

"Took this medication for several months after shoulder surgery and can not recommend it. I had terrible stomach and digestion issues while taking it and ended up adding two more meds for acid reflux and other side effects. Stopped taking it and feel better, with more shoulder pain, although this was only slightly more effective than ibuprofen."

"This has been amazing for my TMJ (temporomandibular joint pain) , I am a long time teeth grinder and a couple of weeks ago went through a very painful phase with TMJ and couldn't even open my mouth without being in severe pain. This takes a few days to fully have a really good effect but once it does, wow. It's brilliant! Although take it with food that's all I'll say, the first time I did not and was up all night with severe diarrhea!"

"I got given a script for diclofenac as pain relief for after having a baby. I have it, and soon feel as if my brain is in a box and zooming very quickly down a chute. Also I became very reactive like I don't care. My perception changed from 3d concepts to everything looking a little bit like it could be something else. To be fair, It did remove pain really well but this medicine is way too trippy for me and I needed a good rest from having a baby but instead was exhausted from overnight mania/sense of zooming."

"I'm also taking clyobensprine for pain, but I've been experiencing severe pain for years since 2013. I go into urgent care just a day ago and I was prescribed Diclofenac to help relax my muscles. For the first time, in a very long time, I am officially pain free. I also have right shoulder stiffness and discomfort since 2018, like literally during my C-section it began; tho not 100% but that too died down to where I only feel a slight ache. But the onset of uncontrollable crying and just mental exhaustion is a bit concerning and is considered one of the side effects, but I don't know if it's the side affect or just finally being able to get relief after so many years of being in pain and discomfort that my mind can finally relax. I'm prescribe a 75mg dosage... But my anxiety is through the roof b/c I'm afraid that they won't allow me to refill it..."

"My doctor prescribed diclofenac for my lower back pain after I told him the ibuprofen wasn't working. Diclofenac has the same nil efficacy as ibuprofen. Can someone suggest a better remedy? My wife must sleep on the sofa as I thrash in pain at night. My days are spent sitting in pain as standing or walking is worse. My doctor would not approve an MRI to investigate the cause nor would he prescribe a stronger medicine. If anyone can suggest a homeopathic remedy I will try it. Since the doctor has not responded to my messages and phone calls, I am going to a new doctor but the earliest appointment I could get is in 2 weeks. God bless you."
