Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I had a UTI back in 2013 and took one dose of Cipro (250 MG) and within hours it started to clear up and by the following day the UTI was gone. I now have another UTI. I took 1 dose again of the 250 MG pill and after about 7-8 hours, I felt about 60% better. I just now took a 2nd dose. Hopefully this will completely clear it up. I haven't noticed any side effects other than a minor headache. But like I said, I have only take 2 doses at the max."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I was initially given amoxicillin for my UTI but after 3 days, I still had a fever, cloudy urine and overall blahs. Went back to Dr. and was given Cipro. Wow...less than 24 hours later, fever is gone and urine is clear. I do have a headache but I don't know if that is from Cipro or from sleeping so much. The list of side effects are a bit scary but so far, no problems."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I will never take Cipro again. After the 3rd pill, I developed tingling in my hands, legs, and feet. I stopped taking it, but the symptoms still persist. I cannot sleep at night and the tingling is constant. I've read this is called being "floxied" and is more common than you might think. I am seeing a Naturopathic doctor next week to try to reverse these awful side effects. Don't take Cipro!"

Cipro XR (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "Do not take Cipro XR, I took and it has destroyed my body, I used to play guitar and lift 260 pounds over my head to not be able to hold a spoon, it destroyed the nerves in my hands, feet, ruptured my achiles tendon, and caused me multifocal motor neuropathy, for the love of god do not take cipro"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bladder Infection "I was given Cipro as I was leaving a hospital where I was treated for a bladder infection. I became confused and nauseous after being on it for 1.5 days and stopped taking it. A little over a week later, I could hardly walk and felt like I had electricity running down my legs. That was followed by stabbing pains in hands and feet, prickling sensations all over my body and patches of burning sensations on my arms, legs and back. It's now almost a year later and I have had to deal with this horror 24/7. Only when I developed overactive bladder along with the neuropathy did I learn Cipro can cause all of my symptoms. My urologist told me this based on my medical history and notifications sent by the FDA to him and other physicians."

For Urinary Tract Infection "My symptoms started with blood in urine. My doctor prescribed Bactrim for 7 days. After 7 days, the blood was still not clear, and I started to have other symptoms like an urge to urinate, more frequent urination, and some minor pain in the penis - typical symptoms of a UTI. The doctor changed it to Cipro for 10 days. Still not better. The doctor changed it again to Macrobid for another 10 days. After 6 days, I still do not feel better, and then all of a sudden, I peed out a pretty good-sized stone (3-4 mm). I felt much better after that. So, all along, it was not UTI but I had a kidney stone. It took 35 days since I had the first symptom to the day the stone passed through and got out. The conclusion was that antibiotics will almost always fix a simple UTI fairly quickly (within 3-7 days for men, at least most symptoms would go away). If you still do not feel better after 3 days, it is likely that there is another underlying condition and not just UTI. It is better to check with the Urologist to find out more."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bladder Infection "Cipro worked the first day for reducing the urgency, but I must not have eaten enough, because I felt like vomiting. The second day I had diarrhea, and the third day, I have the urgency back, but not as painful."

For Sinusitis "Honestly when will people learn that all drugs have side effects but not everyone will suffer with adverse reactions. Yes this is a very strong antibiotic and because it is so strong it can cause some nasty side effects. I’ve used it for sinus infections as well as prostatitis. Slight upset stomach and nausea but compared to having a sinus infection and prostatitis I'd rather take the pill. Don’t let these scare stories put you off taking this med if your doctor has prescribed it. It works wonders."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "Have had serious UTI infections for almost ten years now. Cipro works great to get rid of them. But I have been prescribed it so much that I am immune to it. I have also developed a bad neuropathy in my left leg and foot that goes into my toes and hurts really bad. Started about three years ago after years of Cipro use. I read there is a lawsuit going on for Cipro and another antibiotic that I have taken for this reason, but I have not joined in the lawsuit. Use this drug with extreme caution and not for long periods of time."

For Kidney Infections "I was nervous to take Cipro because I had made the mistake of reading online reviews. To people like me who get anxiety about medication: just think, people who willingly write a review online about medication probably had an extreme or unpleasant experience, but that does not make them the majority. I'm a petite woman that was prescribed 500 mg two times a day for a week. The first time I took the pill I felt a bit lightheaded and woke up a tad nauseous. However, I was not on a full stomach (too nauseous to eat with my kidney infection) and I made the mistake of not drinking a full glass of water with the pill. As long as you do those things and avoid dairy (among other things like NSAIDs, etc) you'll be fine. Feeling much better now"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I have SLE, and I tend to contract UTI's pretty easily. Usually they'll give me Keflex or Flagyl, both of which don't seem to cut it. My current primary started prescribing it about a year and a half ago, and now I specifically ask for it. I had an AWFUL UTI for over a week, finally got to ER today, within a few hours, the worst of the symptoms were residing.... the burning, constant urge, abdominal and lower back pain/pressure. Honestly, I would give it 10 stars, but relief often comes at a price, although for me, they're temporary side effects - bad migraines, yeast infections, worsened photo-sensitivity, drowsiness. All medications have potential side effects. Communicate with your doctor & make sure it's right for YOU."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Prostatitis "When my urologist recommended Cipro to combat my prostatitis (500mg 2x per day for 6 weeks!) I wanted to make sure long-term use was OK. So I went online....and it looked really scary! People totally slamming the drug. But I went for it anyway. Seems to have done the job I needed it to do and there are ZERO side effects. I mean ZERO. People talk about vomiting - I take the pill with or without food and not even a tiny bit of nausea. No fatigue, no aching or numbness, no appearance of tendon issues....nothing. Maybe it's just me and I know not everybody is the same but worked for me. The only reason I gave a 9 and not a 10 is because I still have a couple of days to go before I am done with the 6 week course."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Kidney Infections "I’m on cipro rn for a kidney infection, and I have never felt so awful. My kidney infection didn’t even hurt this bad. Since starting it 3 days ago I have had the worst migraine ever, the only relief I got was when it was just before the time to take it again, I been trying so hard not to cry cause that makes it so much worst. I’m calling my doctor today because I can’t do this no more. I’m about to go crazy."

For Bladder Infection "Was prescribed ciprofloxacin for a UTI and had to take it 2 times a day for seven days, I got no side effects or mental health issues but the first day I took I had slight stomach pain but it was barely nothing. It's best if you eat a good full meal before or right after you take pill and drink A LOT of water that's what I did and I was fine. UTI went away thank goodness. I hope this helps anyone"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bladder Infection "Unfortunately I can no longer take this drug. This has been my go too for years and was always able to “fix me”. I suffer from interstitial cystitis, chronic kidney infections and chronic UTI’s. After 11 days on 500mg 2x a day I found myself in the ER, looks as if the bacteria I have is now resistant to this medication. Please be careful when taking this I know how great it can work but your body can also become rejecting of it as well. It has given me many side affects at times and other times none at all. Best of luck to my fellow sufferers."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I'm 28 and since I have had my first baby I have had nonstop UTIs. They have prescribed cipro almost every time and now the last several times cipro has only reduced my UTI symptoms for a matter of days before it comes back full swing. I've had this current UTI for years now and somehow have not gotten sepsis by now. It's always the same e-coli when cultured, even the same exact number every time. I hope there's something else that will work for me soon. I'm tired of the symptoms and kidney pain."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bladder Infection "I took Cipro for a bladder infection which gave me severe burning pain, depression and dark thoughts. I now have severe tendon and joint pains to the extreme that doctors are diagnosing me with chronic arthritis, severe tendonitis, and there are days I can't walk. The FDA has double black box warning. NOT good, do YOUR research. This Cipro can change your life over night. I never, ever had joint pain until my doctor was careless the day he prescribed this - the double black box warning had been issued so prescribers take more care. His staff never paid attention and here I am living with the consequences. RESEARCH CIPRO, you will be well informed and trust me you could save your own life. Doctors prescribe but it is YOUR health so be informed"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I'm 67 & have a sulfameth resistant UTI so my Doc next put me on cipro and after 5 days all symptoms have disappeared. I was very worried about the reported side effects but aside from some joint pain, I've had no problem. I will be completing my 10 day run of this drug to hopefully knock this infection out for good!"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I was on Cipro for a long time with all kinds of negative side effects and the infection just kept recurring. Went to a new doctor, Integrative Medicine, he told me to take d-mannose every morning & every, night one pill. The urinary tract infection cleared up quickly and the only time it got bad again is if I foolishly forget to take the d-mannose. Check it out"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Diverticulitis "Last year, when I had my first diverticulitis attack (a bad one), I was put on Cipro and Flagyl. Condition did clear up although I was left with a nasty case of Thrush. This time only on Cipro - don't find the one medicine alone very effective. I'm nearing the end of my prescription (10 days of 2 per day) and still having some pain and nausea. Will see my doctor next week."

For Bacterial Infection "Good experience. Definately some side effects when I started, nauseous and a bit spaced out for cleared up a serious sinus/ear infection fast. I do have to laugh at the bad reviews I read about Cipro. They list horrible things but you know nothing else of the reviewers lifestyle, food choices, other meds etc. So I took it as directed and ignored all the other crap I read and it worked well. Also the folks who said they ate yogurt and felt better is just not true. Cipro kills everything that includes the good bacteria in yogurt so wait until your finished then at probiotics. Number 2, any dairy cancels the Cipro out, hence ....don't eat yogurt.....drink lots of water and only take these poisons when you need too :)"
