Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "Despite all the side effects that are plaguing other users, I believe Cipro is worth a try - it is the most effective antibiotic I have been prescribed for UTI, and I experience little to no side effects. The only time I tried to take Macrobid, I experienced fever, nausea, muscle pain, dizziness, and had to call in sick to work last-minute because I'd slept through the whole day prior. So considering alternatives, I trust Cipro for MY use."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I took my second Cipro pill today out of 7 days dosage. Burning sensation almost disappeared and as well as the bladder pressure. However the back pain is still strong. Side effects: diarrhea, weakness and sleeping problems but it’s tolerable Will come back with an update on day 3"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I usually get 2-3 urinary tract infections per year. This is my first time using Cipro. I started on it 3 days ago and have had no side effects. The UTI is about 99% gone and I had major relief in the first 24 hours. No problems with discomfort when urinating, just a slight tinge after I go but barely noticeable and my urine is clear without any odor. I was hesitant to use it due to the side effects but am pleased that I have not experienced them."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I was given ciprofloxacin when I was 18 as a cure for my UTI, that wasn't a bad one. The UTI went away but I was left with constant nausea, abdominal pains, lost of appetite for multiple days, and chills and fever at night, making it impossible to sleep, so the Cipro had the hideous long-term side effects. Cipro is the worst medications I’ve ever been prescribed, and should be taken off the market. This drug is so awful. It has altered my stomach and it’s sensitivity for life. :( This drug sent me to the ER, and was fed through an IV for 2-3 days. HORRIBLE!"

For Kidney Infections "Had a kidney infection 2 years ago. The only side effect I had on these is feeling really sleepy/out of it at times. It also cured my diarrhea from my kidney infection. I had a terrible infection; fever, vomiting, couldn't eat for five days, diarrhea, and this cleared it right up. Don't be scared to try this medicine if it was prescribed to you. All because it happened to another person, doesn't mean it will happen to you."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bladder Infection "This medicine gave me the relief of symptoms of pain, urgency and frequency I needed quickly but I felt bad otherwise with overall fatigue and joint pain everywhere. Seven Days of that was worth it to me to rid me of that infection. But I worry if those side effects could worsen if I use it again in the future."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I've been taking Cipro for three weeks now, had a horrible urinary tract infection that was not caught on time, and it went to my Kidney. To my luck this medication exists and also is my worst nightmare. (I'm used to it now, but the first three days, I couldn't sleep, I had the worst headaches ever, fever, body aches, a little of diarrhea, and lost of appetite) I have two more days to go. At first I thought the headaches were because I stopped drinking coffee, like a LOT!, but stopped my coffee intake when I got super sick. I'm currently on a 1000mg Cipro and wooo.. I can tell you, that as much as the side effects kick you, this medicine sure is working wonders. I drink plenty of water now, I honestly don't ever want to go back to having a urinary tract infection."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I've taken this medicine about 7 times. It works well for the UTI, and prior to taking it this last time I had little side effects. This last time however was horrible. I couldn't sleep (not even a wink!) was shaky, felt like I couldn't walk, sore everywhere, headaches from hell... all of these effects started to happen on the 5th day... the 7th day (last day) was the worst and continued for the next week. I like this medicine because it works for the UTI, but I will not take it again. The side effects are scary."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Diverticulitis "Have used once or twice a year for last 10 years and start to have relief within 24 hours with symptoms usually gone by day three. I take two a day after first tinge of pain (you know what I am talking about) and continue for one week minimum or two days more than symptoms persist. Makes me a little fatigued and I start to get diarrhea after about 4 days but it is worth it."

For Sinusitis "While my heart breaks for the folks who have shared of terrible and enduring side-effects from using Cipro, for the the first time in my life I am posting on the internet, if I can help you decide. I am elderly, frail, and have had to be hospitalized from several meds, due to toxic and enduring side-effects. But we are all different; Cipro works better for me on sinus & UT infections than ANY other med. Relief in as little as 4 hours from severe pain. For me, it is great"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I get chronic UTI's and kidney infections. I recently found out that my chronic infections have led to scarring of my left kidney and both ureters so I go in for a cystoscopy and Videourodynamics in December. Cipro is the only thing that works for me. It works fast too. I usually get bad headaches with this medicine, but I am prone to headaches as well...lucky me. I always make sure I take good probiotics when I am on this medicine to replenish the gut flora. Bactrim is weak and never works...Cipro is the only thing that works for me and my body. Everyone's body is different so do your research and talk to your doctor about your concerns."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Ok, I had a horrible UTI, I was in excruciating pain and screaming every time I had to pee. I was prescribed cipro, but made the mistake of reading the bad reviews on here before taking. I worried myself into a full blown panic attack over the side effects people claimed..and held off on taking the medicine out of fear. It was a huge mistake. I suffered for days for nothing, and ended up having the infection start in my kidneys!!! I was so freaked out by the bad reviews that I only took the first dose after the pain was in my back and I was feeling sick. I even sat in the hospital parking lot because these bad reviews had me so scared the pills were going to kill me! Day 2 of meds...no side effects whatsoever!!! I take a probiotic in between my doses which is 250mg 2x day. It keeps the gastric symptoms at bay. The pain was all but gone from back, stomach and no more fire pee after the first dose! Do not read these reviews and torture yourself thinking you will have a horrific reaction!"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I have taken Cipro many times, but, only a 250mg at a time. Taken 2 times a day. Maybe these other people that were on 500mg's were on to high a dose. I've never had a bad experience with it, only relief & stopped the UTI. I can't take a sulfa med because I'm allergic to it. So this works. I was on it for 5 days."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bladder Infection "I took one dose and within about 3 hours the blood started to clear from the urine and pain lessened; however, soon I got a bad headache, nausea, and chills. Within about 12 hours from the first (and only)dose I was in the hospital--vomiting and feeling miserable. Was there for 3 days taking a different antibiotic and fluids by IV. One week later bad diahrrea, and pain in knee joint. Must be allergic to Cipro--will remember that for sure!"

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bladder Infection "I love Cipro. I have had it several times before for a bladder infection, and again recently after passing a kidney stone. It works so fast. I have nothing bad to say about it, in fact I have noticed that my skin has cleared up, I know it isn't for that but my skin has never been this clear."

For Prostatitis "Look, if you need to take this antibiotic, don’t hesitate. The reason why the antibiotic is rated so low is because people who take this antibiotic and have no major side effects don’t leave reviews. I let reviews like this scare me into not taking it, and little did I know I did more harm to myself by not taking the antibiotic earlier. I’m currently taking it and have experienced no major side effects. Just make sure your body has no nutrient deficiency, e.g. magnesium/potassium, if you plan to take it long term. Hope this helps."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "Without a CT or any proper diagnosis of diverticulitis, based on symptoms I was prescribed Cipro twice a day for 10 days. On day 3 I woke in a panic early in the morning thinking I was dying with the worst feeling of panic and terror I have ever felt. Day 4 was worse. I looked up the side effects after the 8th pill (evening day 4) and every single bizarre symptom I was having including the panic attacks and psychiatric systems, neuropathy, major abdominal pain and worsened diarrhea were there . Terrified, I decided to stop the medication immediately. I had no idea that I had just been poisoned by a Fluoroquinolone. 2 months later I had a CT scan that said NO Diverticulitis. Fluoroquinolones are extremely dangerous, as ear drops and as pills and should be pulled off the market. Doctors who prescribe these pills that make us sick and destroy our lives don't take any responsibility or apologize or help with the multitude of side effects and permanent damage."

CIPRO is amazing antibiotic for UTI. I never had any side effects. Reading others experience is scary. I am currently on cipro again since yesterday because I have UTI again. 500 mg every 12 hours. I had 3 pills so far. No noticeable side effects. If don't feel improvement yet. I hope my UTI clear up completely by end of the treatment course (5 days)."

For Sinusitis "Cipro is a godsend, it's the only antibiotic that works for the wicked sinus infection I get. I tolerate it extremely well, drink plenty of water while taking it, and feel better within hours after first dose. Don't be afraid of this medication. I'm allergic to penicillin as well as erythromycin so my md prescribes cipro."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "This is a miracle pill! It works for UTI's. As a little girl up until now and I'm 29 I've always got UTI's, especially in my early 20's every month literally. After meeting with the specialist who prescribed me Cipro, he said take 1 pill when you feel the symptoms and ever since then I feel my UTI's are under control I've got 2-3 per year which is amazing for me considering I been getting these my whole life, I can't be more pleased!! I had no side affects from the pill. Thank you doctor for this prescription!! Happy patient"

For Bladder Infection "Cipro works great for me and is what I ask for. I've always been given 500 mg twice a day. Knocks out the pain and burning within 24 hours. For those who say they always get a yeast infection... take a supplement of acidophilus every day to replenish the good bacteria in your system. You won't get the yeast infection if you do this. Take it several days after stopping the Cipro, and you'll be good to go! "

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I unfortunately got a UTI during a trip in Bali and was prescribed cipro 500 for a 10 day course from a clinic here. My dr back home said try it for 3 days and if I still have problems push it to 5 days. I HATE taking meds, so after reading a ton of reviews and side effects for this drug I was very hesitant to take it. I waited 3 days until I couldn’t take it anymore and was in unbearable pain to finally start the course. I felt so much better day 1 and fortunately day 3 I’m feeling back to normal and luckily no major side effects except slight itchiness all over within the first few hours and a little bit of chest pressure (probably anxiety from taking this!) I actually felt more alert than normal. I’m going to stop today and hopefully will remain feeling good. I am rating this an 8 because it’s a heavy duty antibiotic and I think there are other choices I could’ve taken that aren’t as strong, for an uncomplicated uti- but that’s all they had available here."

For Kidney Infections "I have had multiple kidney infection and urinary tract infections and NOTHING works better or quicker than Cipro. I also take cranberry pills along with antibiotic and this seems to help me flush my system as well as lots of water and cranberry juice. I find that I don't get relief for a couple of days (2-3). I do have one side effect and that is my joints hurt, but it disappears after the 3rd day of use (for me). Also, I wouldn't take on an empty stomach because it can and will make you nauseous. Otherwise, I would recommend for both urinary, bladder and kidney infections."

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I took Cipro for a UTI. It worked great. I took 750mg twice a day for 10 days and it worked perfectly. After the first dose I start feeling relief from my UTI symptoms ( frequent urge, slight incontinience, shy bladder, etc). I gave Cipro a thumbs up. I am late twenties, male, active, no allergies."

For Kidney Infections "Took Cipro for cystitis that turned into a mild kidney infection after Macrobid didn't do the trick. No serious side effects from medication except for drowsiness a couple hours after a dose... Not so bad when you're achy from a kidney infection. Don't freak out over reviews. It's worth remembering that most people taking antibiotics aren't feeling so hot anyway, so side effects nausea and aches could be due to illness as much as anything else. ALWAYS FINISH YOUR ANTIBIOTICS!"
