"About 1 week in, so far, this drug has worked well, still getting inappropriate laughter, but I feel much more functional than when I was on risperdal and lithium. I don't feel as hungry, I feel more purposeful, I get more done, I feel better. It's still to early to give a review in terms of how well I like the drug, but I have a good feeling about this drug, I believe it will be a step up from the medication I have been on previously. The most important thing is that I believe I'm sleeping well on this drug, better than any other drug I have been on."

"Saphris will knock you out at first, but after a few days it stops. The taste is not that bad. Especially when you get used to it. Saphris makes my hallucinations less substantial than when I'm off meds, it is also wonderful for anxiety. I haven't had any panic attacks since starting. My thoughts are also clear and less disorganised, as we schizophrenics tend to jump from subject to subject with no connection between them. It seems to vanish any excitement or good moods. My mood is low and in fact I was suicidal enough that I started to self injure and isolate. It's probably best to take this medication with an antidepressant if you are prone to suicidal thoughts, which is what I did. Also the amount of time it takes just to administer Saphris, sitting with a tablet in my mouth for 10 minutes is just inconvenient for me as I cannot do anything but sit there. Anyway, it's a relatively mild antipsychotic. I do recommend it if you've failed a few."

"Saphris was incredible for a few months as far as stopping the symptoms and no side effects. We missed my wife's dose by 2 hours and the wheels fell off and she had to fall back on Zyprexa again. It's a medicine we may go back to if the Invega stops working."

"Saphris couldn't be more perfect in getting rid of the psychosis but it makes me so hungry for unhealthy food, it makes me put on so much weight, it makes me go to sleep right away which is fine. I can still get up early in the morning. And also, I have another side effect that is my tongue moves against my inner mouth which is tardive dyskinesia. It would be the perfect medication if it wasn't for the increased hunger and weight-gain and tardive dyskinesia."

"I've been on Saphris 10mg for about a month now, I was put on it in the hospital. I have been on almost all of the atypical antipsycotics and one first generation. All have either not worked well enough or caused horrible side effects so I had to stop. Saphris works pretty well, some days are even symptom free which is a definite improvement from before. Works good for my hallucinations, the delusions are easier to distinguish but am still working on my reality testing. Taste is fine its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. As far as side effects go they are more tame than most of the antipsychotics I've been on. I haven't noticed any increased hunger or any excessive tiredness or fatigue. The only thing is not a specific problem with Saphris just a problem with antipsychotics in general is my mood is brought down. My illness doesn't come with depression but, when I am medicated I feel an effect on my mood. This one brings down my mood quite a bit but it is manageable."

"Um Saphris made me not go to the bathroom and I have IBS already. It has made me really tired and my mood has really decreased I have been really depressed the last couple of days and I have been on for for three weeks now. I had dry mouth and I have felt dizzy for two weeks but both went a way after two weeks. I have felt like I would pass out a few times but I was out side and got over heated so in other words on this drug don’t stay in the sun for long because you will get over heated and pass out with a heat strok. My dr at the hospital put me on this drug I would say from my experience my advice is don’t take it or try it out at your own risk because it is not working out for me. By the way I take5 mg in morning and 10 mg at night. At this point I would say this drug sucks and the worst drug I have ever been on with side effects and that has affected my mood in a bad way I would think really hard before you get on this drug. Good luck and take care"

"My first 4 days of 5mg am and 5mg pm was horrible. OK I have IBS and have problems frequently. As soon as I started saphris I develop severe diarrhea with vomiting through the night, durring the day I am so cramped up (and having very nasty smelling burps) that I can't eat or take it anymore. I wish it could've worked to help me as it has seemed to help so many others. But after the first four days of that I was ready to call it quits. I started and stopped 2 other meds at the time I started taking the saphris, so its taken about 3 weeks figuring out that it was the culprit. If only I could have been warned or read a review of this happening to other people. nasty experience"

"The wife tried this medication several years ago. She liked how it affected her negative symptoms but her hallucinations and paranoia came back really strong after a few weeks. Doctor probably should have eased her transition from olanzapine to Saphris but the way he did it didn't work. I still will be open to this medication in the future with so many positive experiences."

"Saphris medicine is taken every evening when you plan on going to sleep. The dosage of medicine goes under your tongue as prescribed. The medicine is a tranquilizer and dissolves as soon as taken. Saphris have side effects the following day. Including tiredness when taken every evening"

"Its worked wonders for reducing my hallucinations and disorganised speech. However I have barely slept after I started taking this medication. Small price to pay for peace of mind. And it's much cheaper than my previous medication being on the PBS."

"I have heard it described as the new clozapine. It is a good medicine with little side effects. I'm resistant. To most medications but finally found this medication and I'm getting well again."

"Has an uncomfortable side effect shortly after taking it, where muscles, particularly in lower legs/feet, tense up. Goes away after a short while. Overall totally worth it."
