30 million unit multi-dose pen (NDC 00085-1235-01) - discontinued
60 million unit multi-dose pen (NDC 00085-1254-01) - discontinued

Reason for the Shortage

  • Intron A multi-dose pens were recalled in late, 2009 due to stability issues. They were discontinued in late-2010.
  • The Pegintron pens are not affected and are available.

Estimated Resupply Dates

Merck has available all powder for injection presentations including 10 million unit (NDC 00085-0571-02), 18 million unit (NDC 00085-1110-01) and 50 million unit (NDC 00085-0539-01) vials. Intron A solution for injection in multi-dose vials are also readily available in 18 million unit (NDC 00085-1168-01) and 25 million unit (NDC 00085-1133-01) presentations.
