"So despite reading these reviews I had to still had to use it due to being pregnant. It did not burn me like these other women say. It did itch a little but that just means it's working. Definitely not as bad for me as some people described it"

"Really wish I would have read the reviews before I bought it. The most horrible experience ever! First and last time using it! I hate medicines that are counter- productive. Before I started taking this I merely was uncomfortable and now I have full on pain. The itch is unbearable. I had to attempt to wash it out but even that didn't fully work. Moral of the story....always read the reviews "

"I was told by my doctor that I had a mild yeast infection and they only had given me two pills for it. I resorted to using Monistat to finish the job. I’ve been using this for four days now and I’m not having any issues. I do have to point out that the package says “may increase itching and burning” and on the first day I was itching a decent amount 5 minutes after I used it and for 10 minutes the next morning. But it wasn’t excruciating and it was easy to ignore. Luckily I never had any pain what so ever . It says to lay down once you insert the cream. So if you get up, walk around, or go to the bathroom then that may cause leakage and problems. Also, I suggest wearing panty liners when using this cream because it comes out throughout the day. But as far as I’m aware, my yeast infection is completely gone after 4 days of the cream! It does its job. Maybe me taking the tablets first made my experience better than most"

"I have started using Monistat 7 and on the first day it was pretty itchy for about an hour after insertion but after that I felt great. The next day I felt like all the itchiness I’ve been feeling subsided. I am on night 3 now and I’m feeling great. This stuff works wonders."

"So I bought the Monistat 7 day pack the first two days were not bad, but mannnn day three was the worst!!!! Day three I inserted the cream and within 30 minutes I felt unbearable burning and itching like OMG!!! I attempted to try and go to sleep because I thought when I woke up everything would be fine. The pain was so bad I couldn't even go to sleep it got so bad my hands started shaking and I almost cried!!!!!! On a scale from 1-10 my pain went from 0-100 real quick! And it's crazy because the first two nights I inserted the cream by morning I knew it had started to work because I continued to feel better both mornings but day three had me never wanting to take Monistat again like they should seriously remove this product off the shelves"

"I'm so used to seeing comments from like 3 years ago that when everyone kept saying bad batch, I was like, well that doesn't make sense for why I'm feeling the same unbearable itching and burning. Then I noticed the date of the posts. All within the last few weeks. So maybe it totally is a bad batch because I would remember if it had burned and itched this much last time. I'm dying. I have been trying to distract myself but I have no idea what happened in the episode of the tv show I watched. Then I tried to read a chapter of my book (which is my ritual before bed and usually puts me right to sleep). I have been reading the same paragraph for the last hour because I literally can't focus on the words because of the itching."

"I have a mild yeast infection that I’ve been dealing with for about 3 days now. Taking a shower and simply running water on vagina actually helped relieve the irritation. Tonight I decided to use M7 thinking it may get rid of the lingering yeast...I showered and after about 5 minutes of applying the application I was so annoyed at how uncomfortable I was that I decided to take another shower! The itching and irritation was 10x worse then the little I was already dealing with. Not sure if it was because the cream was working and killing off the yeast or what but I did not like the way it felt! So annoying!"

"I'm so happy I found these reviews! I've always bought the generic brand and I never felt like this! But after Monistat 3 Oh my gosh my vagina is on fire what the?! It's been 6 hours and I took a cold bath to make it better; Ok its a little better.... don't put the cream on the outside makes it worst. Debating if I wanna go thru this pain for 2 more days... but assuming its burning because its working? I wonder why it never burned with the generic brand? Good luck girls"

"Like. You know that feeling when you hear people saying your exact thoughts and you're just like "YEAH!" "Oh Em Gee!" ?? That's totally happening to me right now!!! I wish I read these reviews BEFORE taking this beast of burden. It's like my vagina is screaming crying and all I can do is try to rock it to sleep. But the rocking and rolling I'm doing is doing nothing for my snatch. The only thing that's helped is reading all of these reviews. Now I'm crying for two different reasons "

"I haven't used an over the counter medicine for a yeast infection in years. If I've ever gotten them in the past, my doctor has prescribed something, but I don't usually get them. I didn't want to make a visit to the doctor and so I tried Monistat 7. I remember this medicine hurting like CRAZY years ago but I thought I'd try it again since it's been so long. I wish I could go back in time!!!! On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst pain-burning-itching, I was at a 10 after inserting the medicine, and I'm just now at a 7 or 8, 18 minutes later. This kills!!!!! I will not be taking the other doses, and I will make an app't with my doctor for a pill to cure this. I don't know what to do to get rid of the intense burning."

"It is my first time to use Monistat 7, and I will never EVER buy this product again. I have tried another Monistat when I was pregnant but forgot which one that is why I ended up with this. Right now I’m still breastfeeding that is why I am using this brand otherwise I will use Canesten. This is torture. The fact that I have an infection is bad enough but this one is burning and itching 20x more that I had to wash down using ice cold water. If you aren’t pregnant or breastfeeding, spare yourself from this pain."

"All of these reviews about the burning and itching is totally 100% true. After about 5 minutes of inserting the applicator, here comes the uncontrollable burning sensation I mean it was TERRIBLE. I was in tears. I laid in the bed for as long as I could before I had my husband bringing me a warm towel to wipe it off. But yet it continued to burn for about an hour. I finally was able to fall asleep. Next morning I woke up no itching or burning. I wanna continue to use this product and follow through with the full treatment but that first time was so uncomfortable I'm scared to try it again."

"The first night I used it, it burned so bad I couldn't even sleep/ I was in tears & I tried to wash it out in a bath and to no avail, I was completely red faced miserable/crying/ could barely walk with such intense burning. But by the second day, it was almost all cleared up!!! Just mild itching! SO STICK WITH IT FOR THE FULL 7 DAYS!!!! By day two I had almost 0 discharge (mostly just the cream coming back out) I'm on night 3 now, and penetration of the application tube doesn't hurt anymore but I still have mild itching:( hopefully by day 7 I'll be good to go!!"

"I read a lot on the medicine before taking it and asked my doctor about it as well. I am aware that the burning and itching is worse if you were scratching or rubbing the irritation of the infection before you got the medicine, when you do finally take the medicine it'll cause burning and more itching for a few minutes bit it's only because it was irritated. And in some cases if it's caught late it'll cause the burning as well. Mine was caught early luckily and my god mom had gave me advice on it so I was aware I had it do to the itching but I didn't scratch or rub it because she told me not to irritate it even more. I feel much better now."

"I'm 18 years old, and I had never had a yeast infection in my life until recently. I was experiencing itching first and the burning, and it hurt terribly to walk. My mom told me to get monistat 7 & immediately after the first does, there was an increase in burning and itching, but I applied aloe Vera around the outside of my vagina (vulva) and took ibuprofen for relief. After 3 days of taking monistat, my infection had cleared up completely. I haven't fulfilled the full 7 days, but I'm very happy w/ Monistat."

"I used a generic brand and it didn't help at all. This was the worst yeast infection I ever had. I still had intense itching and burning, so I bought this brand. The first time I inserted it squatting down and then I went to lay down. Wow, the itching and burning was intense. It was really bad for about an hour and then I was able to fall asleep. After the second day all symptoms were gone, but still continued the treatment."

"I wish I had a time machine so I could rewind to an hour ago and read these reviews first. My vagina is on FIRE!!!! I wasn’t sure if I had a yeast infect but I’ve had itching and burning the past few days so picked this up hoping for some relief. Now I’m laying here praying for the sweet release of pain. I tried to tolerate it, but after ten minutes I couldn’t take it anymore and washed it off. Then I got up in there with a mirror and my vagina is RED. Like fire engine red. And so so swollen and the itching and burning is unreal. Please, let the tale of my burning red vagina be your red flag. Run far away from this aisle and never return."

"OMG!! I am speechless by how awful Monistat 7 is. I had no idea to come and look for these reviews, otherwise, I wouldn't be missing out on quality sleep to write this review. I have a high pain tolerance and rarely experience side effects to any meds or creams I take but this was completely different. Immediately after inserting the cream into my vaginal, my whole world was on fire. My YI has a mild itching sensation but this was so bad that I couldn't tell if it was itching or burning. I felt stupid as if I intentionally allowed fire ants to crawl in there. After thirty minutes of EXTREME discomfort and no relief, I tried my best to wash all of the cream away. My vaginal is now red and irritated and I have been unable to rest tonight. Ladies, please try oral relief if you don't have a prescription."

It does have a slight burn when you first put it in but nothing else . Cost $13 for the 7 day with the anti itch cream"

"I used Monistat 7 on multiple occasions, but it has probably been close to 20 years since I have done so. It always burned or itched a little more intensely right after application, but the good outweighed the bad and overall it was definitely worth it. This time, I’m not so sure. I did the first application about 35 minutes ago and I am absolutely about to lose my mind. The itch/burn is so intense that I don’t even know what to do with myself. I have been breathing as if I am in labor in an attempt to refrain from using a back scratcher on my vagina. My symptoms were at about a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1-10. I was going to knock this out early! I have had far worse in the past...if you are reading this before trying, DO NOT DO IT. ABORT MISSION!!! Go see your doctor and refuse to use this over the counter medication. Your vagina will thank you. As for me, it has now been about 50 minutes since I used it. The excruciating pain is now almost bearable."

"I am laying in bed, vag on fire, can't sleep because of this horrendous medicine. I am on day 3 and I will not finish the full regimen. It is absolutely shameful that the company is marketing and selling his product as is. Clearly there's been a change in the formula-- something's not right."

"At first I ignored it because I assumed it was working and fighting the yeast but a minute or two after inserting the applicator filled with cream inside my vagina it started to burn. It was burning, stinging, and itching all at the same time very badly. My vagina felt like it was on fire. I wiped some of the product out of me, but it is still burning. I have used Monistat in the past, but I have never had this issue. Have they changed something in the formula?"

"I tried this medicine for the first time last night after reading through this forum. The feeling of itching wasn't as intense as some are describing (though everyone has different pain tolerance). I just did what a lot of these helpful ladies said and just laid down, relaxed, and inserted the cream. It certainly didn't feel like a bunch of fire ants. I didn't even feel the cream enter, honestly. Just the effect afterward. I did the med at 10:30 PM and then stayed laying down while I watched some of my favorite Disney Jr. shows, which was a nice distraction from the feeling the cream gave me in my lower area. I woke up this morning and there's no itching, burning, etc. I feel much better, and this is only day 1. Good luck, ladies! Hope this cream helps you too. "

"I’ve been doing this treatment for only three days. Every night after I shower I insert the cream. The first 15-20 minutes are the worst - burning , itching and irritation. The first time I used this product there was absolutely no pain, I little discomfort considering it was my first time. I don’t know why this is hurting so much, I’m going to research the ingredients to see what might be causing this. I’m experiencing the pain right now, it’s awful, I want to rinse it out."

"Stick with it ladies. Night 1 & 2 were so bad I thought something was wrong and then I found this site and was relieved I wasn’t alone. It got much better night 3, barely any discomfort. Now on night 4 and I don’t feel a thing. Hopefully I’m on the down side of this nightmare."
