"I wanted to write a 10 star review so hopefully people will view it. The itching stated by everyone is indeed as bad they say! My advice is to keep still for as long as you can bear (personally I couldn’t even do a full 10 minutes). I then rinsed it out, and then applied some tea tree oil mixed with coconut oil. Tea tree oil is antiviral and antifungal and can be a perfect home remedy anyway! But the sting of the oil numbs out the severe itch from the medicine in no time. Yeast infections shouldn’t go untreated and I’m sure if used at the first sign Monistat would be just perfect. Don’t knock it till you try it, your body is going through something and yeah it might hurt a little to get rid of it"

"I have had a YI before and cured it with plain yogurt and this is my 2nd YI. I felt the first time that plain yogurt helped was out of luck. Wow! Extreme itching and mild burning 3 mins after internal cream insertion and rubbing a bit of the external cream. I put on the external cream before the internal cream. Holy crap I hope this means the medication is working. Plus today is my first day of my period. It just makes me feel uncomfortable all over. I'm just trying to think of something else to not think about the itching. The itching subsided a bit after 40 mins. Almost no itching after 1hr and 30min I'm going to keep everyone posted about the effectiveness of this product throughout the week. I'm really hoping it works!"

"Before taking this the itch was so intense I wanted to cry it was irritating and uncomfortable I called my doc a Thursday but they couldn’t see me until Monday. I couldn’t wait that long with the kind of itching and burning I was having. I purchased vagasil to try and ease it before the doctors appt and that only helped for about 3 hours and your only able to apply 3-4 times a day. Like other users said the first night of monistat is something else!! Lord the itching inside was worse than the itch from the YI! It started maybe 10-15 min after insertion. I stuck it out and the next morning I already had relief and the rest of the day the itching was gone! I’ve read that the burning and itching is due to how long you have the YI and for me I think it had been a few days maybe even a week until I realized what it was. If you can get through the first night it’s worth the relief the next day. I’m going to continue with the 7 days to make sure it’s fully gone"

"Tonight is night 3. The first two nights didn't burn or itch. I thought tonight would be the same. After all I've used this medicine several times before. Tonight was horrible. I inserted the applicator with cream and laid on my back in bed. About two minutes later I was in pain!!! Maybe that was a burning that was turning to pain. I ran to the bathroom and tried to get the cream out. Still in pain, I came back to bed and tried to fan the area. Maybe some air would help. Wrong! Then I started googling and found this site. I've read many of these reviews and it's been about an hour and a half. The pain is subsiding some now. Still there but not as intense. On a scale of 1-10, it's maybe a 4 now whereas it was a 10 an hour ago. Maybe my YI was really bad this time."

"I read everyone’s reviews about it burning & itching & I decided to try this product for myself as I am pregnant and that’s the medicine my doctor recommended I was so scared due to all these reviews but I tried it and it’s not that bad, it really hasn't burn that bad maybe I have a better pain tolerance or it affects everyone differently. I don’t know lol there’s a small burn & itch but it’s not unbearable to the point to were I'm crying and it only last 30 minutes after that the pain & itching is gone I felt so much relief after using this product the 30 mins of discomfort was definitely worth i. I just had to suck it up for thirty mins "

"This stuff works. I've had experience with the Monostat 1 day treatment, it doesn't work on me and their 3 day treatment only made it come back later like it had a score to settle. So the Monistat 7 day treatment is the only one that works for me. I've learned the longer you wait to treat it (when the area is looking like plucked chicken because of the yeast) the worse the first dose will itch and burn. But I know it's only because my skin is raw from the yeast. The second day has itching but no burning. The fourth day there is no itching. By day 6 my infection is gone but I take the 7th dose anyway just to make sure. This is the only OTC med that works for me."

"Ok so I’m back again! My first time I used this cream, I had instant relief. About 10 mins in, while watching a movie with my family, my vagina felt like someone was holding a blowtorch to it. It got less and less painful as I took more treatments. This time around (my 2nd time using it), my YI is an aggressive one. I inserted the cream and rubbed the anti itch cream on, and it’s smooth sailing from here. A little itching, but nothing I can’t handle. I really hope I’m not speaking too soon. But I can say this. It gets worse before it gets better! Good luck to you if you’re dealing with the same problem. Use it all 7 days (or it’ll come back worse possibly) and hang in there girly, you’ve got this!!! ❤️❤️"

"I really wish I read the reviews first. I lasted 2 nights using this stuff (Up all night screaming in agony, but I was really trying to stick it out.) and the next morning I looked down and my vagina was completely swollen and sealed closed !! I could not open it whatsoever and if I tried, the skin would just rip apart and bleed. This “medication” should not be on shelves anywhere. I have no idea how this stuff is legal, but someone needs to do something about this NOW!!!"

"I agree with everone else regarding the intense itchy feeling and pain right after inserting the cream, but it gets better after about 20 minutes. The trick is to use anti-itch cream or anti-itch wipes right after you apply the cream. These wipes were heaven-sent. My obgyn suggested the 7 day treatment because it's not as irritating as the 3 day one. This product works despite its annoying side effects so do not stop using if you can. After 1-2 treatments, the itchiness stopped during the day."

"I have used this in the past, due to taking antibiotics after having a tooth pulled. I am 14 weeks pregnant, and day one is the worse. I was on fire for about 15 minutes, then i started reading people's post on here, and after laughing so hard, the burning is gone. This is my second time having to use this and I'm 31years old. I know it's not funny to have a YI, but I got a good chuckle out of the fact I'm not the only one on fire over here. Thanks. Product clears infection in 3 days."

"Okay so I realized I have a yeast infection after using a new type of soap. I went to a drug store to get meds. Usually I get cheap stuff and it works pretty good but I decided for some reason to get the more expensive Monistat brand this time. Well I took a shower and got ready for bed. Inserted the medicine exactly how the directions says to. And literally 30 seconds later I was on fire and itching. This is terrible. The discomfort for the yeast infection is way better than going through this. It was been about 10 minutes and I'm consider taking another shower. I came to Google for questions and found this chat group. I'm definitely not using this again!!!!!"

"My doctor prescribed this to me in high school when you had to have a prescription to get it. I have been using Monistat 7, Monistat 1, and Monistat 3 since high school and I am now 47. I have never had a burning sensation until this time. I honestly believe someone has tampered with this product as Monistat is not suppose to burn. You can insert it anytime. The only thing normally was that it would leak. No burning. Depending on how bad the yeast infection was it might tingle but that was it. Big pharmaceutical probably bought them out to keep us paying for prescribed medicine. This time my applicators were blue instead of white... Dead give away. Monistat applicators have always been white. If you get blue don’t use"

"Omg I was going through the reviews as I’m dealing with night one now. The itching is unbearable! I’ve been squirming since I’ve inserted the cream in . Mild burning sensation but honestly I have been dealing with a swollen vagina for a couple days . It’s just the itching for me! I’m trying to let the product run its course . Was taking UTI antibiotics and the YI came with it . Got a 2 for 1 special I guess lol ."

"The Monostat 7 actually works but you have to be really patient with it as soon as you insert it, it BURNS and the only thing in your mind is washing it away. It’s really hard to keep it on because it feels like it worsens. Be patient it will go always like 30 minutes later."

"The pain sucks but this is why us women just need to take care of ourselves I understand some are prone to them but wouldn't you rather go through a couple days of pain than having to deal with a damn YI ? I've had a YI before and I was prescribed a cream from the doctor and she also gave me a pill .. This time I used the monistat 7 and they're both similar !!!!! Same pain same problems for a couple days but this product cures you just as much as a prescribed cream would ! My advice would be to grow a pair and suck it up and to just take care of yourself better ! If you can go through birth or cramps honestly you can go through this tiny bit of pain its honestly not that bad and it cures you !!!"

"Okay so this is my first time having a YI I'm 17 and I was so scared at first! I told my sister my situation and she recommended the monistat 7 saying the others didn't work. Well I'm on night 4 right now and that pain is so horrible! The fact that you have to take the cream before bed makes it really hard for me to fall asleep. The pain gets so bad I have to distract myself so I won't burst out into tears. This has been such a long week and I dread every night I have to go to bed "

"The first day it is very itchy and the second day it was bearable. On day three I was itching inside as well. The remainder of the four days were a tad bit better. There was still itching but I knew that by day 5 my yeast infection was gone. The cooling wipes helped a little too. It was worth the pain that I went through. Ladies hang in there if you can!"

"This was horrible! I had the infection for about 3 days until I could get the cream and started it tonight. I put it in and in less than a minute felt the horrible itching and burning like everyone else. It was so bad I took it out and washed after less than five minutes. I will not be using this ever again and I will be telling my pharmacist about this. DO NOT BUY THIS IT IS THE WORST FEELING EVER."
