"LADIES!!!! You are not alone or crazy if it is burning you. The package says “mild burning and cramping” but it is way more than that for me. It feels like hot sauce in my hooha, and the cramps are awful. For me, the only thing that helps is sitting up and icing her!! The burning has been lasting about 2 hours for me. After that it’s completely normal. I think I will stick to trying to get a prescription pill from here on out… If that isn’t possible then I will stick to the Monistat creams rather than the capsules, as they don’t cause me anywhere near as much discomfort. Praying for you and wishes for a healthy hooha ASAP."

"My vagina feels like it's on fire! It's 15 minutes after I inserted the medication. I feel as if there is a blowtorch under my self. The itching is horrendous! Like 2,000,000 fire ants are down there. It's driving me insane! How can you fall asleep with this pain!"

"I bought monistant 3 cream suppository over the counter on Monday and inserted at night right before bed and yes it as everybody's reviews and experience about the burning and stinging after inserting it is very true. But thats the whole point of it is that it kills the yeast and to me that was when I knew it was doing its job! The burning stinging lasted for about 20 min The next morning same feeling occurred for about 20 min burning stinging lil uncomfortable but let me say after my first dose I was feeling 80% better! Last night Wednesday was my last dose and this morning Im 100% better. I truly didn't think the Monistat 3 was going to work but it did and hopefully I don't get anymore yeast infection, but if I do I know what to use best! So if your reading this and this is your first yeast infection and your thinking about using this product,I think u should give it a try! I'm very sensitive to a lot of things and I was hesitant on using it but gave it a try and it worked for me"

"I have used this medicine several times in the past and usually it works, but it's not worked before and the infection came right back. I never used to have problems with yeast infections but ever since I had my children it seems like I get them 4 or 5 times a year and it's miserable. I've never felt the insane itching and intense burning from this product until now. It is unbearable and makes me skeptical as to if it's actually going to get rid of this infection because this day 2 and I feel like it's just not stopping. The only thing that has helped sooth it temporarily is baking soda made into a paste (for the outside). It burns at first, but after the burn stops I don't have the insane itch and it feels soothing. It usually makes it stop for several hours. I just use it on a wash cloth with water and wash it away after about 60 second."

"I never share reviews but I thought I had to since there’s so many bad ones. I let my infection go on for about a week because I just thought I was itchy because of my period. So when my period ended and the itching didn't I immediately knew. I went to target to get the Monistat 3 because I’ve used it before and it’s worked. The first night is always the worst but for me it’s not unbearable. I put it in and lay down, about an hour later the internal itching begins. It only lasts about 15 minutes. Second night do the same thing, itching begins and only lasts like 15 minutes. Third night, no itching. So if you think you can deal with the 15 minutes a day of intense internal itching choose the 3 day. If not I recommend get the 7 day. Everybodies experiences are different some people get no side effects and others get bad side effects, however they are much more likely to leave a comment. DON'T FREAK OUT"

"Y'all, I'm an ob/gyn and it took me using this stuff myself to decide I will NEVER recommend it to a patient again. My vagina is on FIRE. I am completely miserable. This is way worse than any yeast infection I could dream up. I feel like I must have third degree burns on the inside. I thought I could tough it out, but no girl is that tough! Monistat, this is NOT okay. I will be prescribing oral treatment from now on."

"Please God DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR VAGINA!!!! I should have read the reviews but I’ve used this in the past and didn’t have the same reaction. I’m literally in the fetal position crying and grabbing my vagina! I put this in about 30 minutes ago and immediately after I was bent over in pain. The burning and itching is literally like 30 times worse than the actual pain I was feeling from the infection. I called my doctor and an advise nurse and will be going in first thing in the morning. The only solace I have is reading everyone else’s experiences so at least I know I’m not dying. I honestly thought I would have to go to the emergency room. Again FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON’T USE THIS. It’s like some woman-hating psychopath put some torturous ingredient in this to systematically inflict pain on unsuspecting women. I hate you Monistat how dare you do this to all of us!! "

"DON'T USE IT!!! It was my worst experience in my life. I took the Monistat 3 in 1am expecting that I'm goning sleep and guess what?? It starts to itching like anything. I didn't know what to do. I start crying, I wanted to rip my own skin. I went on this forum and I saw all reviews and I'm regretting that I didn't read it before using a product. I was using anti-itch wipes but it became even worst, my lady was on fire. I tried to take the monistat out with tampons, but nothing helped. Finally after almost 2 hours I fell asleep. It was the worst feeling in my life. DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT!!!! This product deserve 0!"

"I bought the monistat 1 Day yesterday. Before I inserted it I I decided to look up reviews. It was sooo bad! I literally threw everything away and went to the store for the 3 day. From reading everything I found out that if you do it and immediately lay down with your knees up that it helps a lot. I guess when the cream starts to come out and down your vag from walking or movement is where the burning comes from. I was doing great, and then my 5 year old comes in screaming and I have to get something for him. I go back to lay in bed and OMG. The next hour was just me curled in the fetal position holding my vagina as hard as I can. It finally just stopped but it felt like a whole life time. The itch is unbearable. But I made it through I didn’t shower or try to get it out. I powered through and can feel that it’s doing his job and now I’m laying in bed watching tosh.0 laughing. Stick it through! They’re is a reason drs recommend it, may not be pleasant but doable."

"This is the first time I had a yeast infection so my doctor told me get the monistat 3 day tubes. I was hesitant because of all the bad reviews I saw but I got it anyway. The first night I used it not even 10 minutes later it felt like somebody was holding a lighter up to my vagina. IT WAS BURNING, ITCHING & STINGING so much that I couldn’t even sleep I kept getting up to walk off the itch and I had to put a cold rag on it in order to go to sleep but the next morning I felt great and throughout that day I didn’t feel any burning or itching so I continued using the other tubes for the next two nights and surprisingly I didn’t experience burning or stinging at all! That means the yeast infection was almost fully cured :) I highly recommend this product because of how fast it works. You just have to suck it up and deal with the burning on the first night you use it and wear a pantyliner. Night 2&3 won’t be as bad you may feel little to no burning or itching at all."

"Day 4. Vagina and vulva are raw. Wiping down there with wipes or paper feels like I’m using sandpaper. Urination burns my irritated skin. Left over Monistat occasional drip feels like a combination of sting/itch/burn. I have to dab with wipe after urinating. Day 5. Vagina vulva is Raw, it still hurts to pee, wiping is worst. I’m not sure what to do. I think it may be a chemical burn from the Monistat. Vaginal canal entry itches here and there. No cottage cheese discharge. If in 2 days I’m not better going to the Gyno. IF U ARE SENSITIVE to side effects. BEWARE. SHAME ON U MONISTAT"

"If you’re like me and prob the vast majority who has landed on this page it means you’re prob too late. You used the 3 day Monistat, felt the ungodly burning of a thousands suns and thought “Holy Moly it’s worse than before!”. Conjuring enough strength to Google, you type in a search wondering if a yeast infection cream is going to be the thing that takes you out of existence, only to find that you’re not alone. If you haven’t figured out by the low rating, this application is HORRIBLE to say the least. It had me throwing myself in the shower to remove the cream as best as possible. I’m sitting on an ice pack now and praying the sensation of a million fire ants on my crotch goes away. Don’t risk trying this product, I wish I looked into it before trying it out"

"Got a yeast infection from antibiotics. Well the treatment is way worse than the YI. My lady parts were on fire. I had to wash this off with cold water and sit on ice packs for the next 2 hours. I'm 67 years old and not sexually active, but if I was I would be closing up shop after this. I don't think my lady parts will recover from this "treatment"."

"After reading all of these terrifying comments I was soooo prepared for this to burn me so bad that I would want my vag to fall off but it didn’t. I was awake for at least an hour before I fell asleep after putting it in, and it tingled and itched just a little bit but nothing more than that. I found that it itched more when I got up to use the bathroom really quick after 30 mins of having it in. Definitely wear a pad when using this product as it does leak quite a bit, less if you put it in higher they said. I’m only on day 1 of this though so if anything changes I will definitely be back to update everyone."

I seriously want to claw my vagina off!!! The burning and itching is unbearable. I will NOT be using this product ever again."

"Lacking in health insurance at the moment, I thought getting monistat would be cheaper option for my yeast infection. Now as I sit here in agonizing pain, I would have gladly sold my first born to avoid the itching and pain that is the side effects of monistat. It feels like there is a raccoon deep inside of my vagina scratching to get out. I am at a loss on what to do. I have used monistat before and it wasn’t this bad. Is it possible that it’s because I bought the cream instead of ovule this time? I wouldn’t be surprised if a man created this cream specifically to spite women. Somebody please send help."

"I have had a yeast infection for over a week. Tried Diflucan and it did not work so I thought I would try Monistat 3. I was TERRIFIED after reading the reviews since I have never tried Monistat before and everyone said it was burning them BUT I am happy to report that there has been no burning!!! If you have a YI and are desperate (and already bought the Monistat)... just try it. It didn't burn me, it might not burn you either! lol. I will say it felt warm for a while but not burn at all."

"Hi. I’m here to add another instalment or “what have I just put in my vag” If you’re reading this, it’s probably too late. Just know you’re not alone. We all made the same mistake. Pretty sure my husband thought I was being super dramatic until I showed him some of these reviews. Currently sitting in a bath trying to wash the awful stuff out. Ugh. My vag is more uncomfortable now after using it than it was after I pushed a whole human through it. This is horrendous. Hang in there fellow burning vag friends!"

"Not my first YI, but my first time using Monistat of any kind. I used the kind with the cream filled applicators. Oh my freaking goodness, never again. I don't know how to best describe the itching and burning that happened after using the applicator, but to say it's painful is an understatement. I have an extremely high pain tolerance, and this is honest up there in the worst pains I've ever experienced. I would rather literally burn out my own eyeballs with actual fire than ever use Monistat again. Seriously. I tried to tough it out, thinking maybe it was just the medicine doing its job, but I ended up breaking down and birthing the glob of cream into the toilet. I'm currently sitting here with a cooling ice pack on the area (which does help a bit, but not enough). It's been an hour, and the burning is not going away. Freaking yikes. I am not sure how this stuff is even legal. Would NOT recommend, in case you didn't get that."

"Second dose and my Girly-Glory is currently on fire. I'm pretty sure she has called for the fire department and called for an Uber to get away from me. I am trying to make her feel better with a bag of frozen peas stuffed in my crotch but I fear it's a lost cause. I haven't had a yeast infection since my early 20's and I'm 53 now so it's been a minute. I don't recall having this sort of reaction before and even last night's dose wasn't this bad. This stuff better work otherwise I will write a strongly worded letter to Monistat. It is clear this product was developed by men who have no idea what *mild burning or itching in a woman's Happy Hole actually feels like! After the first dose I felt MUCH better the next day (today) and I'm sure tomorrow will be better yet so if you can power through its definitely worth it and you will deserve a medal (of course you won't get one but that's part for the course isn't it?) Benadryl definitely helps too!"

"Monistat SAVED my sanity and my girl parts! I went about 2 days trying to do home remedies and nothing was working. I was so itchy, irritated, and ridiculously swollen. I told my friend and she suggested monistat for me. I put it in before bed, put the anti itching cream that came with it, and within an hour I felt SO much relief, woke up the next morning feeling a lot better. Last night I did the second dose, I felt a little bit of burning but I fell asleep quickly and feel almost 100% better today. I’m so excited to do the last one tonight and hopefully will feel completely back to normal. Do not let the reviews scare you off!! It works!!"

"First time ever experiencing YI. My Dr. prescribed a 3 day treatment but when I went to pick it up, they say my insurance doesn't cover and it'll cost $375. Should've seen the look on my face. The pharmacist told me to just grab the over the counter ones. 1st day treatment had me SCREAMING, CRYING to GOD for help, JUMPING around all over my room like a swarm of fire ants found its way up my vagina! My brother checked on me to see what was going on. I yelled at him saying, "I HATE BEING A WOMEN!" And he just slowly backed up out the room and closed my door. My 2nd day wasnt too bad. I was more prepared after finding/reading up on these reviews. I popped some ibuprofen, 2 probiotics, 2 oxy that I had left over from a past surgery. Passed out like a baby. Next day, the itching and burning wasn't a big issue. The YI kinda cleared up. I'm on my 3rd day today. Did the same exact steps as day 2. Writing this review before I slowly doze off."

"After having been misdiagnosed with a yeast infection, diagnosed with BV, treated with Metronidazole gel and then developing a yeast infection because of the gel, I've been three weeks with pants of fire. If you're reading this, you might know the feeling. I did three doses of Diflucan and no relief. Dizziness and general crummy feeling, but still burning and itching. One dose of M3 and I thought I was in Heaven. No burning. It was relief within an hour (and I was terrified of all the burning reviews). Not everyone reacts the same. One day and I'm looking forward to dose 2. The cooling effect is wearing off and I want this thing gone. Monistat 3 cream was my savior!"
