Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking l-methylfolate (the active ingredient contained in Deplin) hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Less serious side effects of l-methylfolate may include:

• nausea;

• loss of appetite;

• bloating;

• gas; or

• bitter taste in your mouth.
