For Perioral Dermatitis "I have perioral dermatitis which gets very bad around my mouth and can lead to burning, tight skin, making it hard to eat, and so on. I had a crying session for a day or two because it was just that bad. I reached out to a dermatologist who prescribed this medication - I got the 0.1% ointment. It has been wonderful for me. I was able to get off the medication for a while (since my dermatitis only really acts up during the change of seasons, I can use it once a month for good measure). I forget that I have perioral dermatitis. I love this product. I know that a lot of people have a hard time with it, and to that, I say if you're supposed to go on it, just use very little on a wet face and top it off with your moisturizer and see how it goes. Right now, I start with a very damp face, use a toner, then the ointment, then my moisturizer, and then an oil. But when you first go on this, I would say keep it minimal. And stop drinking milk!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I was prescribed Protopic for atopic dermatitis on my eyelids, which had been kicking around my eyelids for about 4 months, really irritating. The first application definitely was on the hot/burning side for about 12 hours, the second and third applications were not. The Atopic dermatitis appears to be improving. Also, I do not know if it was coincidental, but I woke up at 4AM with a heavy migraine and then got sick, that may have been from the meal I ate at 9PM, some sort of food poisoning, because I had gas all day long and the food did all come up. Don't know, but I am fine 24 hours later."

Protopic (tacrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Applied this to treat what looked like a mix of folliculitis and atopic dermatitis flares (but which turned out to be just atopic dermatitis) on both lower legs, especially the shins. Itchiness, redness and dryness abated about 80% after one week without any initial irritations or burning sensation. There is no feeling of soreness or increased sensibility whatsoever, I've basically just stopped thinking about those problematic parts of my skin, so there's that passive psychological boost, too. Only 9/10 because long term results are still unknown and because it's pretty greasy."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have suffered like many others for years with rubbish skin. Had every steriod under the sun but wanted to try and stop the problem from happening in the first place. I was prescribed Protopic. Yes, at first it burns like hell, but that to me is it working and I suffer it. As I continue to use it this burning doesn't happen and it has left me with lovely skin. I have found however that I did not apply on the Thursday and had some alcohol on the Friday thinking the cream would be out of my system, but definately not! My face became very flushed when I started drinking but then calmed down. My eyelids and area around the eye was completely swollen the following morning and has just got worse....will need to monitor this."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I think I was suffering from topical steroid withdrawal, and tried to get off of them once my skin was dry, red, and flaky. I thought I was out of options until I remembered the Protopic generic, tacrolimus. I asked my doctor about it, and she was able to prescribe it to me. So far, it's cleared up my skin, although I do I have red skin on my thighs. I get itchy and keep causing more eczema or sores due to scratching, and I'm unaware of the allergens causing it. It does burn, and I'm odd, I think it feels good sometimes, especially in the winter. I recommend it for eczema sufferers, because I've used it in the past, and it's worked, and as an adult now, it's working again for me. Topical steroids have failed me."

For Atopic Dermatitis "My Dr. prescribed this ointment in conjunction with memetisone cream. I had a severe reaction with red, hot, weepy, itchy, thin feeling skin that bleed with lightest scratch. Per Dr. I stopped using memetisone and just used tacrolimus, from there skin dried up and became very scaley, still itchy, thin feeling and painful. The ointment also made my skin feel vey dry."

For Seborrheic Dermatitis "I have Seborrheic dermatitis and the skin issues on my face and forehead, behind the ear, neck, chest, can be handled quite easily with this cream. It is an expensive cream compared to other cream but it works in my experience. Of course it is not magical and depending on situation it can take a week of application for me to get it down under control. By that I mean not so red or flakey or spots. Like others I sometimes feel a little itchiness after application, but I'm guessing that's the work of the cream at work. I don't know if there are any side effects, but I only tend to apply it if my condition flares up really bad to get it under control. It isn't 100% cure but at least it helps a lot for my skin problem. I'm living in South east Asia if that makes any difference."

Protopic (tacrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Like rubbing lava on my skin, makes me feel like I'm on fire, makes my skin redder and worse. Increases my stress levels causing me to scratch more. The worst thing I have ever been prescribed for this condition."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had eczema for a couple months now and nothing has made my confidence go down as much as eczema has. Being uncomfortable in your own skin and not being able to hide it even when you wear makeup sucks. HEAR ME OUT: I have used Eucrisa before this religiously, no it did not seem to help the eczema go away, but it helped the redness go down. I was nervous to try Tacrolimus because of all the reviews but I decided to give it a try so I could gain my confidence back. I started off by just putting a little bit on a small area of my eczema. I HIGHLY recommend doing that. Its only been 4 days since I have used it and I am one of the few that has had little to no side effects and about 50% of my eczema is gone. Please be aware that everyone's experience will be different. I also recommend putting a base layer of moisturizer on before applying the cream. For me, this cram has been a miracle and I hope everyone finds something that works for them."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I've had eczema for my entire life but it started getting really bad around my eyes in the last year. It was super dry and flaky and nothing seemed to work. I tried tacrolimus and the first night I put it on it burned and itched so bad. When I woke up the next morning it was still mildly burning but after two more uses all symptoms stopped and my eczema began to clear. My face was clear within 5 uses but I continue to use it every night. This ointment isn't any gooier than steroid cremes I have been prescribed and it actually works."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Few days back I had been to my dermatologist they recommended me tacrolimus ointment to apply on the affected spots on my face and from where I remembered it itched so bad I didn't have any burning sensation though but the itching was too severe and my face was getting light reddish too. I thought that it had some kind of allergic reaction with my skin ...but only in 2 days the white spots started vanishing and the itchiness subsided after 5 days and in 1 week I got a clear smooth skin. It really did work (though it needs a lot of patience about the greasiness and for the annoying itching but it really does work)"

For Atopic Dermatitis "After 19 solid months of awful flare ups after being relatively flare free for close to 25 years, my internist finally prescribed generic protopic (tacrolimus). After the first evening, in which I felt like my face was on fire and kept waiting for family to ask why is your face so red?” (they never did, apparently it was just feeling hot not looking it), it has been wonderful. If you can make it past the first 5 hours, it’s a breeze and it helps a lot. I am a new person and coworkers have said my skin is “glowing”!"

Protopic (tacrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "I went camping over memorial day at our Ranch... Long story short, its Oklahoma its summer, IT'S CHIGGER TIME! Got torn up on my genitals. After an appt at Urgent Care and a negative STD test for herpes, the clap, syphillis, etc. The doc gave me some antibiotics (Cephlaxen 500mg x 4 daily & Hydroxyzine). After 4 days all looked promising, ran out of antibiotics... All resumed. After 3 days of swearing I would castrate myself just to stop the itch ... Went to a dermatologist. Same tests for STD's all over again, but was given more antibiotics and 0.1% Protopic. Put on at 1205pm after picking up from pharmacy. About 1900 my penis was burning"

For Atopic Dermatitis "What a waste of money. I used the first tube of Tacrolimus 0.1% and saw no results of my bumps and awful itching. Well, I thought the medication took a while to work and I am not almost through my second tube and it still doesn't work Each tube cost me $129 and that was only the part I paid, insurance paid the most. It is a worthless drug for me. I still crazy itch. Don't waste your money. Over the counter hydrocortisone works as well at a fraction of the price and it's not as super greasy as Tacrolimis. I am so disappointed,"

"My dermatologist recommended keeping this in the fridge. That seems to prevent the burning sensation others report. I’ve not had any problems with that. Using this for rosacea and it’s a slow process but working. 2 weeks on, two weeks off, with low dose doxycycline the whole time."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I've been dealing with perioral dermatis and eczema on may face since June 2018. My face blew up after topical steroids were applied for what I thought was eczema. Fast forward to now Jan 21 2019 my skin I literally clear. I tried EVERYTHING. I spent sooo much money. I did take a round of prednisone in August and that help a lot but I was still getting these crazy flares. This ointment has been a life changer. It does burn and sometimes its for the first 2 application....but trust me it will get better. This is the first time in over 6 months that I have been rash and itch free. I also use Specto gel face soap."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Well, most of the comments on here are written by lucky lucky people. It didn’t “cured” me in 2 days. I’m 2 weeks in and there is only a tiny little bit of positive change on ONE of my 16 patches (and it’s ON MY FACE. so I was very hopeful) Lucky you if it works in 2 days- if it’s true I totally envy you. It does itch and burn the first few days but you’ll get through it. My skin felt very hot as well even after 10 hours and more from the application. It’s still itch a bit now; it made some of my patch very red and raw. I almost gave up a few times but will continue to use it twice a day until I have my skin biopsy result in 10 days. Oh and if you are in Canada and don’t have insurance, this product cost around a 100$ (a heads up is always good. Especially when spending that much money for something that doesn’t work in 2 days like all of these people said)"

Protopic (tacrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "I'm using this to prevent pitiriasis alba as a result of ezcema. Protopic is very greasy, so I use it at night only, and only on affected spots every few days (when needed). It takes away all signs of my eczema within a few days, and I haven't had a single spot of pitiriasis alba since using it. I haven't noticed any side effects or burning. Corticosteroids had no impact on my eczema whatsoever. Love this product."

Protopic (tacrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "Used for 3 weeks morning and night to help my perioral dermatitis. Every time I drank even a small glass of wine the areas I had applied the ointment to began to burn and turned bright red. Even now, 3 days since I’ve used any cream at all the same reaction occurs. Does anyone know when this will stop happening?! It did clear my skin but I’m worried the effects were damaging"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have atopic blepharo-dermatitis and eczema. I used Protopic 0.1% cream for my eylids swelling and redness. I first experienced dryness after a year of intermittent use. I only spent less than 30g in 1.5 yrs with Protopic. Yesterday I experienced tightness 5 on the scale from 0 to 10, and also pain. I took 500mg Tylenol but the tightness remained the next day. I get temporary relief with warm water massage but only for 10 minutes. I got panic attack as the result"

For Atopic Dermatitis "Ok so I’ve been using this tacrolimus cream since I was younger probably around 15 years old. I used it for a while and eventually my eczema went away but I had my first child in 2018 at 19 years old and afterwards the eczema came back on me hard. So I requested this medication again. Yes it DOES burn when you first start using it. Your skin needs to get used to it. Your face will be very sensitive to light. Once your body gets used to it it works WONDERS. You will notice your face clearing up very quickly and feeling so much better. I use it every day on the skin on the creases of my nose and above my lip. My skin has gotten so used to it that it rarely burns and if it does it’s only for about 5 whole seconds after applying. This is my lifesaver all year long and especially once the air gets dry. It does not cure only helps."

I would rather not be treated at all than suffer the two hours of intense burning pain and swelling that happens with every application. My skin is worse after using this."
