For Benign Essential Tremor "I started experiencing severe tremors as a side effect of other meds. At first I could not brush my teeth, then I had problems typing, next I could not feed myself or even hold a cup of coffee, finally I had bouts of tremors so bad that I could not even walk. I finally ended up seeing a neurologist who once he saw the problem and the severity he immediately prescribed Inderal. Within a week virtually all of my tremors had stopped and I was immensely relieved. I experienced no side effects at all. I have been on them for 7 years now and I only slightly shake if get really tired or drink too much coffee. All in all - I would highly recommend this medication for anyone with severe tremors."

For Performance Anxiety "This drug is a miracle! Imagine every time you're about to present in front of people - the panic creeping in, heart racing, visible trembling almost to the point of convulsion with a lump in your throat and cracking voice. Imagine what everyone's thinking as you choke trying to spit out words on a piece of paper, who knew reading could be so difficult. Think about the embarrassment and how incompetent you feel when in reality you actually exude confidence. Why is my body attacking me? Why is it impossible to simply read off a piece of paper and not turn into a shaking wreck. This was me...and I had tried many therapies I read online before, trust me. long story short..I was cured first dose of Inderal and never looked back. I hope others find relief."

For Benign Essential Tremor "My tremors were getting worse and worse so I went to my Doctor. She thought I had Parkinson's and referred me to a neurologist. The appointment came through about 4 months later. The Neurologist diagnosed Essential Tremor and prescribed Half Inderal 80g once a day. After taking the meds I felt so much better, I still get the shakes but nowhere near so bad. My muscles are stiff though and it's causing me problems walking far and my neck and shoulders hurt too. I'll have to ask whether Inderal is the cause at my next appointment. All in all it's been great, I especially notice the difference when cooking or eating a meal or drinking from a glass, I don't spill as much now and it's less embarrassing when in a restaurant."

For Migraine Prevention "Started getting severe migraines regularly at about age 27. By 35 it was debilitating and I would not have been able to hold down a job. Several bad migraines each month. Imitrex would help and I could function if I caught it early enough but sometimes would wake up with them. Tried a lot of things and finally at about age 45 started on Inderal. Changed my life and now practically never get them although I do think that menopause might have helped as it did for my mother. Highly recommend this drug and just wish I had started on it earlier. My kids would have had a more fun and reliable Mom."

For Migraine Prevention "My neurologist had me try many different medications for migraines including Amitriptyline, Topamax and Cymbalta. I was not comfortable with taking medications that are meant to help individuals with seizure disorders and depression. In addition, these medications did not stop the migraines and I experienced many side effects including nausea and decreased appetite. Then I tried Inderal, a low dose medication used to lower blood pressure, paired with B2. My migraines are now fewer and less severe. I still keep Imitrex with me wherever I go to tackle a migraine but I have found that Inderal was the most successful medication that I have tried. Just be sure to take it as recommended. I hope that it helps other migraine sufferers."

For Performance Anxiety "God sent inderal in 1964 but doctors had their eyes closed for years I was twenty years old in 1993 when all started with severe panic anxiety panic attacks. First they put me in low doses of bromazepam 1.5mgx3 .(Don't worry it will be pass soon) Then paroxetine 20mgx3 Then CBT for years no drugs at all and told you need to get use to it. I quit college I quit my job. Then ten years ago I discover inderal all by my self from internet and 10mg X3 took all my symptoms away .Who is gonna give me back all those wasted years??"

For Benign Essential Tremor "I have benign tremors and hypertension. I was taking one Inderol LA 60mg daily for the hypertension. I went to an neurologist about the tremors and he asked my cardiologist to change me to one in the morning and two at night. That was about 5 years ago. It has been a great help for the tremors and my BP is awesome! [e.g., 120/75] Now after so long I have developed a tolerance. My docs think more per day will make my blood pressure too low. If I am really diligent about taking it the tremors are minimal."

For Performance Anxiety "Works like a miracle. My job requires some presentation skills and no amount of practice reduced the anxiety. My speaking skills improved with Toastmasters, but the anxiety was still crippling. I no longer fear giving workshops and presentations. I only need take it prior to giving a presentation - just once in a while - and a single pill does the trick. Far superior to anxiety meds like Xanax. Propranolol reduces the anxiety with no negative effects on my performance, and no side effects that I've noticed."

For Migraine Prevention "I started taking Inderal to help with migraines. I still get headaches almost daily but they aren't migraine-quality and can be managed with Ibuprofen. Negatives: sleep disturbances, feet are ALWAYS freezing, and I'm experiencing frequent orthostatic hypotension. I had normal-to-low BP when starting this med so I don't think it's the right med for my body, since it lowers BP. I like not having migraines but can't exercise or live life if I'm always dizzy and weak."

For Migraine Prevention "After suffering with migraines 30 years, Inderol gave me a pain-free life! It was the best I've ever felt! However, after several wonderful months, I began to get so dehydrated that it caused intense migraines and E.R. visits for re-hydration. Had to stop taking it because of dehydration side effect. Beware of dehydration while taking this drug."

For Benign Essential Tremor "I had struggled with Benign Essential Tremor for about 7 years (post-trauma), with shaky hands, stuttered speech, etc. For years I was given Valium or Xanax to treat it. In an effort to make a career change, I asked my doctor to find a non-narcotic solution. In short, after seeing a neurologist I was prescribed propranolol and I'm free of almost all symptoms with less side effects and the negative stigma of being prescribed a benzo."

For High Blood Pressure "I'm a 55 year old male and have been on Inderal since I was in my late 20's. This medicine was perfect for me with little side effects. Some light-headedness at times, nausea was probably the worst side-effect. Inderal has become expensive over the years and sometimes hard to find. After insurance company changes forced me to try other blood pressure drugs, I ended up back on Inderal. Now it seems it is not as effective as it was before. No one (Doctor, Cardiologist, etc.) seems to know why. Increase in palpitations, blood pressure rising, side effects have become worse, etc. Doctor put me on Bystolic. We'll see how it goes. LESSON: If a medicine works for you and you've been on it a long time, STAY ON IT. Don't let the insurance companies play with your health!"

For Benign Essential Tremor "I have had good luck with this medicine but as I age it appears to be less effective, or it may be that my tremors are getting worse and the dosage needs to be increased. I have tried an increase in the medication and have become very sluggish. All in all it is working rather well and the cost is low."

For Migraine Prevention "I found immense relief with Inderal, on just 10mg every morning and night....it was like a miracle as preventative and I also have found it dulls a migraine if one happens to break through, by taking an extra one. I had been waking up with a bad headache/migraine every day, which lasted all day. Codeine was my only vague relief in mega doses. My only complaint is that since commencing Inderal I have gained 10kg and no dieting seems to help! All this in only 12 months. The other side effects have been an increase to my allergy intolerance to certain foods ie chocolate and a heightened problem with low blood sugar. So, the doctor has just commenced me on Topamax instead 25mg every morning and night. Will report how this compares!"

I take Inderal LA 160 mg once daily. Sometimes during the day I must also take a Xanax once or twice to help. But by far the Inderal was the most effective drug I have every taken for tremors."

I like the fact that I do not have to take it everyday...only for specific events which are typically scheduled in advance. I would still prefer no medication but have been very happy with the results from Inderal."

For High Blood Pressure "I have taken Inderal and Inderal LA for the past 30 years with very few side effects. It helps both my arrhythmia and my high blood pressure. I felt slightly weaker and more tired in the beginning, but now I just feel normal. I have been able to live a relatively normal life and have always been able to do whatever physical activity I needed to do."

For Benign Essential Tremor "Have had tremor most of my life. Was diagnosed in my late teens and put on 60mg Inderal LA. Immediate improvement only real side effect has been a bit of drowsiness so I always take at night. I have tried the generics because Inderal has gotten so expensive, especially . The generics just don't work as well, it has to do with the bio-availability which is part of what sets a brand-name drug apart from generics even though they might share the same chemical name. Regardless, have started buying from Canada. Only down-side is that you have to buy 90 day supply, but it costs same as generic w/good rx discount. Turned 50 this past year and it just doesn't work quite as well but I knew it would happen. Considering whether or not to try Neurotin..."

For Benign Essential Tremor "My doctor had me on a regular dose of Inderal, and Valium as a back up if needed. This was working fine. When I went in for my annual visit and said everything was as usual, no better but no worse, she changed me to primidone. I am on my 3rd month of this and feel like a basketcase. Vertigo, stomach problems, vision problems, memory problems. "

For Performance Anxiety "I have had anxiety a lot since high school and it has gotten worse in college. I have taken many different medicines for anxiety and this is by far the best fit for me. I didn't like how I had to take the other medicines everyday whether or not I felt anxious- this one was great for me because my doctor told me I could take it whenever I felt a little more anxiety than normal. I will take it in the morning if I wake up anxious and I have never had an anxiety attack or feelings of being anxious yet. I would highly suggest talking to your doctor about this medicine if anxiety is the issue."

For High Blood Pressure "Lowered blood pressure but, caused severe hair loss (I saw clumps of hair in drain after every shower) and depression! I have since learned that this 'side effect' is known as 'beta-blocker blues'. However, my M.D. switched me to Tenormin (another beta-blocker) which did NOT have these side effects."
