For Restless Legs Syndrome "Suffered undiagnosed sleep disorder for 20+ years. Light, poor quality sleep. I sleep so soundly now that I need to put my alarm on for the mornings. Spouse says that she has never seen such a dramatic change in my sleep quality."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "This medication destroyed my life. It did wonders for my restless legs syndrome and I could finally sleep. It had no side effects (at least that I was aware of at the time) Now, two years later I've filled for bankruptcy after gambling away all of my savings and assets. Before taking this medication, I had never had a problem with gambling. BEWARE OF THIS MEDICATION. IT CAN TURN YOU INTO A COMPULSIVE GAMBLER!!!"

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "My wife had frequent leg movements throughout the night. Mirapex immediately stopped the leg movements. She continues to take the drug daily and restless leg syndrome has not returned. Very effective drug."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I am a 12 year survivor of mirapex/Pramepexole. It was a miracle to begin with. I only slept about 4hrs a night but had enormous energy and never tired. That lasted nine years. But during that time I lost bladder control, impulse disorders, loss of concentration, myalgia neuropathy, falling asleep while driving, many more and augmentation. I was on .5 mg. Detoxing med free from this med was horrendous! After detox most of the side effects cleared up. But I still have issues with memory and concentration. This is the only med I took on a reg bases as my health was good. Im still suffering the side effects of the Withdrawl from it. Studies should be for longer than 12 weeks."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "After using Mirapex for approximately a year, it slowly became less effective. Although I had been without any symptoms of RLS, I now began to experience increasing episodes of RLS. With the help of my doctor, I have used different combinations of medicines (including Mirapex) until we found the right one. It seems prolonged use of some medicines can make them less effective. Sometimes changing the regimen with professional help can keep RLS at bay."

Mirapex ER (pramipexole) for Parkinson's Disease "Diagnosed in 2010 at 46yo - I have been using Mirapex Er .75 1x day for several years with minimal issues/problems - It can have a lot of side effects so it is not for everybody. Ok.. so I've seen a few ghosts along the way... (at the time was at a higher dose of 1.25mg per day) - I haven't seen any since lowering the dose to the current .75 level. Although you can get the fast acting non ER version - you really need the ER version to keep it in your system longer to receive the benefit of it. For me it helps to minimize the cramping I get in my right foot. My insurance will not cover this drug. I ran across this Mirapex assistance site (Eagle Pharmacy / Lakeland FL) where I can get Mirapex ER for $30 a month without insurance."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Pramipexole has changed my life! I have suffered with restless legs syndrome since I was about 25 years old and I am now 78. After starting this medication I have been able to get a good, full-nights sleep. As a result of sleeping well, I have a lot more day-time energy. I occasionally have bouts of RLS but with the consent of my doctor, just increasing the dosage for a few days will get me through these episodes. Sometimes I don't increase the dosage during one of these episodes but take a hot bath which helps. When I have been without the meds for a couple of days, not even a hot bath will help. This has been a WONDERFUL medicine for me. It literally has made my life full again."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "This medicine is a miracle!! OMG! It nearly has made my RLS dissapear, only had it 2 times in 4 weeks since I have been on it! Before I was getting RLS around 2-3 times a day! I couldn't go to a movie or sit to watch tv, car rides were miserable. Since being on this medication, I have been to a movie and 3 concerts without RLS! I have tryed Requip and Gaberpentin and neither of those worked. I am so happy with this med! I take .50 once a day at night. I think the reason I have had RLS the 2 times in this 4 weeks is that I didn't take it at the same time those 2 nights, I took it later than usual! All in all, I am very happy with this, I am taking the generic."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "Since taking it for RLS, I have not had a single problem with my legs or arms trying to run a marathon while I try to sleep. The only problem I have is it makes me dream like crazy. I sometimes wake up and almost think the dreams were real. It is very strange and it happens almost every night. I have gotten used to it though. For the relief it has provided me, the dreaming is worth it."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I had suffered restless legs syndrome periodically for many years. Then, suddenly, I was getting RLS every night. The weird thing, to me, is that I also had the feelings in my arms, but certainly not as frequently as the legs. After weeks of trying to reposition my legs, ignoring it (impossible!), I finally went to my doctor. I took my first dose that night, and haven't had symptoms ever since. I read up on the long-term usage, and am a little concerned about it. I'll cross that bridge if and when I cross it."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered from RLS and PLMD for years. The last few years I've been taking Sinemet, which worked great in the beginning but gradually lost its effectiveness. I was up to 3 pills a day and the RLS was worse than ever. My neurologist just started me on Mirapex and it is incredible. One pill at night and I get a good nights sleep. I'm also not getting the RLS during the daytime anymore. I haven't felt this good in a long time! No side effects either."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I wanted to cut my legs off, I was willing to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of my life vs living with the agony from RLS, which at the time, felt like I was telling my doctor a fib... when Mirapex came to canada I went straight to him and said put me on this NOW. I would go weeks without any half decent sleep if any at all. Now if I don't take my 3.50 mg a day I know it. BUT I also just (today) got out of the hospital from the psych ward, third time, each time has gotten worse. Suicide, uncontrollable actions, Grandiose ideas, lack of sleep and not from RLS, heart palpitations, eye sight blurry, confusion, short memory, forgetfullness... and of course compulsive gambling/shopping! SOMETHING ELSE HAS TO WORK! now..."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "After suffering from RLS for over 30 years and trying numerous medications to include Quinine Sulfate this WORKS. Loss of sleep has diminished as well as the attitude to go along with it. I can't believe that after all the Doctors I saw this one diagnosed it without me telling him. I was sitting in the office and my legs were jumping, that afternoon I tried the Mirapex and presto problem solved. No side effects I know of, dose is 0.5 mg 2x per day, some days not needed. What a relief."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "Military doctors originally put me on Klonopin for my restless leg syndrome. The medication was a total God send! My only noticeable side effect was dizziness if I stood up too fast. Once we retired from the Army, however, new doctor, new medicines. I got stuck with a neurologist with a 'complex', who told me I could take Mirapex and have nerve damage testing, or I could just have the nerve testing and go without. Great. So I took the Mirapex. Over about six weeks, I've gained weight (not normal for me), forgotten LARGE amounts of things. I sleep LOUSY, and still have the 'twitches'. Doctor finally listened and put me back on Klonopin, but didn't warn me about switching from one to the other. I've now been awake for over 24 hours, only catnapping in 15 minute increments."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Pramipexole works well but the only negative I would mention is in my experience it takes 90-120 minutes to take effect. This can become VERY frustrating if I feel the RLS becoming active and I haven't taken my medication yet. It can be a long time before I feel any relief!"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "The first and only night I took pramipexole for RLS was so bad.. I went to bed immediately after taking it. I get nervous taking new meds, so I thought I could just sleep through any mild side effects. I woke up 2 hours later with nausea, vomiting, slurred speech and weakness. My boyfriend found me on the floor having extreme muscle spasms. He thought I was seizing. I spent the rest of the night sweating and weak. I’m not saying it doesn’t work for others, just be very cautions make sure someone is home with you when you take it for the first time."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Parkinson's Disease "I believe the dumbest thing that a pharmaceutical company could do is what they have done with pramipexole, it's the tiniest pill I've ever seen. My mother has Parkinson's which causes her to shake. This pill being so tiny continues to be dropped from her hands almost daily. Not a very brilliant design."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have taken Mirapex an average of 4 nights per week for about 11 months. I have no restless leg when I take it at least an hour or so before the usual onset (for me, bed time). I am so very happy to have found such a simple cure to something that has plagued me and caused me problems for thirty years. Now I can even travel in an air plane or car in the evening and at night with no restless legs....a huge change for me. I am thrilled. I love it. I have not noticed any side effects."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "I have been using Mirapex for almost a year now. Before that, I used Requip. I take a half dose twice a day. A single dose a day does not make 24 hours. This makes 12 hour shift work tolerable as far as the RLS."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have been on Pramipexole, generic for Mirapex, for about 15 years. The only side effect is a bit of drowsiness now and again. I am very pleased with how this medication works. Previous Drs have had me on drugs that would push my RLS even harder as the drug wore off. Now my new General practitioner wants me to try extra iron, magnesium and zinc to see if that can replace taking this drug. Trying that but I am happy to stay on Maripex Because it works for me!"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Pramapexole can cause fainting. I had been quite please with the affects of pramipexole during the 3 months I had been on it. However, for about 3-4 weeks prior to my hospitalization, I just felt out of sorts. I began to notice a feeling of being lightheaded. One morning I bounded out of bed - standing up too quickly - and woke up a few moments later having fallen against a wall. I didn't too very much enjoy the resultant scrapes. (Neither did the wall) After a visit to the ER followed by two days of very impressive detective work, the very fine doctors informed me that Pramipexole - also known as Mirapex - was the culprit. Take this drug seriously. I works quite well but at a potential cost. Hope this benefits you all."

Mirapex (pramipexole) for Restless Legs Syndrome "I have had disruptive RLS for all of my life. A couple of years ago it got intolerable. I tried Requip first, but it made me exceptionally tired the next day. Mirapex works quite well, allows me to not move and get agitated and I feel fine the next day."

I found out the hard way when I forgot to refill my Mirapex that Gabapentin didn't work for my RLS. My leg twitched and jerked all night"

Mirapex ER (pramipexole) for Parkinson's Disease "Besides Mirapex ER causing compulsive behavior(shopping) as a side effect it seemed to be working fairly well. I was taking the 4.5 mg dose for Parkinson’s. But when my neurologist passed away suddenly I had to switch doctors. She completely changed my medicine. It’s been almost a month and it half and I’m in the worse shape I’ve b ever ugh been in. Withdrawal for my brain had been unimaginable."
