Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "My 7yo who had the flu shot in Oct was just diagnosed with Influenza A. She has high fevers of 103.8, fatigue, headache, body aches, runny/stuffy nose and congested cough. Doctor prescribed Tamiflu and I gave it to her within 24 hours of her symptoms. Within 7 hours of the first does she had NO fever, no body aches, no fatigue, no headache. NO SIDE EFFECT so far. She is back to herself again! Tamiflu has been a lifesaver! Think the real issue is this over hyped up ineffective flu shot that is overly promoted in the media!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was in bed, aches, chills, 102 fever, dizzy, all the good stuff that comes with the flu - just miserable. I tested positive for the flu and took my first dose that evening. Within a day and a half, I feel so much better. I still have some symptoms, but I don't feel like I'm knocking at death's door. "

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "My 12 year old daughter diagnosed with Flu B. She started this right away. Since the symptoms of flu and side effects of Tamiflu can be similar, it’s difficult to say. But she is now fever free without medication 48 hours after onset. I’m hoping and thinking the Tamiflu helped her body get control of the virus. I’m stopping it today because she feels pretty good and I don’t want to ruin it for her. She did have dizziness, nausea despite anti nausea medication, but she had it before Tamiflu too. Who knows. But none of the serious side effects for her."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I started taking Tamiflu 36 hours into having the flu. While I did not have as many of the side effects as others have experienced, I did have horrible diarrhea almost immediately after taking the drug. Additionally, I experienced 2 sleepless nights, tossing, turning, back aches and insomnia. With that said, my flu symptoms dissipated within 24 hours of taking the drug, so I do feel like it shortened the duration of the flu. Also, the drug was expensive... Over $100. My insurance barely paid for any of it. I think you have to ask yourself, are you OK feeling bad for an additional day or two in exchange for just having the flu or are you willing to get back 24 hours of your life with the risk of some not so pleasant side effects. After 4 doses, I decided to go off. Hoping the Flu doesn't return as I am not going to finish the course my doctor prescribed. I want to get a good nights rest and not have to get up to go to the bathroom all the time. I'll roll the dice."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Great great great medicine. I was alarmed when I caught the flu so hard that everything hurt. All I could do was sleep. So I did. I slept for 28 straight hours with the ability to only wake up to go to the restroom. Drove to the doctor and confirmed the flu. Doc prescribed tamiflu and ibuprofen. Immediately took the first dose and was able to eat. Not sure if it was the medicine or what but I was able to sleep again that night. By the morning all symptoms were virtually gone. But continue to take my dosage on the 3rd day 2 a day and have to say it’s a great big YES! From me. I had a 102.7 fever body aches and joints were screaming of pain before this med. as for side effects.... none. I guess we are all different. But definitely worth a try."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "If your flu symptoms are bad enough that you feel like it is the end, then this medicine is a godsend. But the side effects really do suck. I had a ton of sinus pressure, sneezing, body aches and delirium from fever before I took this. These symptoms went from a 10 to a 5 overnight thanks to Tamiflu, but now I have nausea and headaches to deal with. The nausea especially is really bad. If your flu symptoms are mild I would keep this in mind."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Went to doctor yesterday, after one full day of a low grade fever, chills, aches, and stuffy nose with a little chest congestion. I didn't feel like I got hit by a Mack truck, still went to work etc. I decided to go to the doctor earlier than I normally would have. They did a swab test and confirmed I had the flu. They gave me Tamiflu. It's been about 36 hours and three doses into it and I feel at least 90% better. My wife's doctor prescribed it for her as a preventative. Neither of us have had any side effects. We both took them with food."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I started with symptoms Friday night and immediately started Tamiflu. I tested positive for flu A. This medicine works wonders for the flu. My advice is to anyone who starts to experience symptoms to get to a doc immediately. I still have some congestion but I feel 95% better!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Myself and 4 of my children took tamiflu immediately after flu symptoms started and within 24 hours every single one of us felt so much better, still sick just not death bed sick. We made sure to take it with some food and never had any side effects at all. Children’s ages are 4, 6, 9 and 12."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Starting feeling bad on Sunday went to my Dr. On Monday she said I had the flu so I started Tamiflu it seems to have helped me a lot and pretty quick I just have had a terrible headache for 2 days and diarrhea other than that its been great.. Just can't handle this headache"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Swine Flu "My daughter (9) and I (37) were tested positive for H1N1. Both of us were prescribed Tamiflu. Both of us had to stop early (I stopped after 2 days or 4th pill, my daughter stopped after 1st day or two 7.5mg doses). I had insomnia, bad back pain, stomach pain and nausea. After I stopped it cramping continued for awhile. My daughter’s eyes were puffy, red with blood vessels popped, nausea, stomach pain. But the worst was at night when she was so weird! She felt like someone picks her up and drops her back on the bed. She also had difficulty answering easy questions like “ what’s your last name?” I pray that all this will go away soon. Her eyes got better the next day we stopped Tamiflu. Thank God I didn’t give Tamiflu to my 3 year old. It was prescribed to her as precautionary measure since she was definitely exposed to the virus. I would not forgive myself. I wonder if anybody who developed or selling or prescribing this medication is taking it themselves. Probably not."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I work with children so I get the occasional cold, but this time it wouldn’t remit with the normal over the counter stuff, so 3 days ago, off I go to Urgent Care. The Doc gave me Tamiflu, day one, liquids and just in bed no energy almost no food. Day two, chills sweats no energy, day three I’m feeling worst chills sweats now I’m visiting the Oval Office (bathroom) every 20-45 min diarrhea/nausea, so you cough and well you throw up. I can’t sleep, I’m tired it’s 4.30 am and if I close my eyes I have nightmares in a semi asleep. Irritability or plain anxiety... ok that’s where I stop. I started reading about Tamiflu, this drug is no joke it’s strong and side effects are real. Now I wonder how long before I flush this out my system. For me it helped with symptoms but the sides are WAY STRONG. Costof dr visit + meds $300! and now I feel worse..."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was diagnosed with the Flu, I was prescribed Tamiflu, the doses on the first day were ok, the first dose on the second day caused me to wish I never took it, it started with a headache, then diarrhea, then nausea, then vomiting, then bloody diarrhea, it started at 9:25 am, it's now 5:50 pm and no relief in sight! Whomever invented this "Drug" should be made to take it, I feel worse now than when I started having the flu!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was hit suddenly this past Saturday evening with headache, joint pain, chest pain, chills and a fever of 100. I had a telehealth appointment yesterday (Sunday) and began my tamiflu around 1 pm (oral). Last night was rough as well, fever close to 102 and meds doing little to knock it down. Chest sore, difficulty coughing, achy, sweaty and overall miserable. Around midday today (Monday) I began to feel much better, three doses of tamiflu in. Temp holding steady at 99 and none of the aches and sharp bone pains. My advice, get the tamiflu early, get in bed and stay there, drink drink drink, water, ginger ale, jello, pudding, and spend your time resting. Yes, it works."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Diagnosed with influenza recently, my dr prescribed Tamiflu..believe me, this was feeling like you had been " hit by a Mack truck " flu, have never felt so ill with so much body pain everywhere..slept virtually all day for 3 days straight, then the Tamiflu kicked in. Seriously, with zero side effects! Now day 4 and I'm off the pain killers and actually feeling quite good. Still going to finish off the prescribed dosage of tablets, but have to say the results are amazing. Yesterday I wouldn't have had the strength to write this..amazing."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "My 9 yr old son got sick with the flu (confirmed by swab) on a Thursday afternoon. Before bed we gave him the Tamiflu. Overnight he was very sick with a high fever, vomiting and headache, but the next morning after his second dose of Tamiflu was already starting to feel much better, fever a lot lower and eating soup. The medicine is easier on the stomach if you eat something with it, otherwise it can cause stomach/digestion distress. Like others who posted, was skeptical about using it, especially for a child, but so far its worked well."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Started having headache and body aches on the night of January 10, I never had experienced such intense body ache before. Had low fever 101F on January 11 but I couldn't get a doctor's appointment till January 12, she did a nose swab and results confirmed influenza A. I started Aleve to alleviate body ache same time as when I started Tamiflu between light breakfast and lunch, noticed diarrhea later that day but thought it was flu related, so I started diarrhea medication. Body aches dissipated through that night and by next morning I could stop Aleve. Flu symptoms cleared since January 14, except for slight dry cough with no chest involvement, and slight allergy-like cold. Tamiflu worked f/me but has side effects of diarrhea and slight nausea."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu after being ill with a strange and strong flu virus but it made me feel so much worse with vomiting, nausea, dizziness and headaches in addition to my flu symptoms. It really isn’t worth it and I wish I wasn’t prescribed it because now I’m faced with the task of finishing it because you have to complete the pack. I’m dreading taking the next one. It really isn’t worth feeling this way for hardly any benefits. Plus it’s super expensive."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I went to the ER on day two of shortness of breath, chest pains, fever, coughing, aches and pain all over my body. I was prescribed Tamiflu. I went home took it around 7 my fever dropped down from 100.7 to 98.6 in an hour. I had no more chills and was able to turn my heater off and felt a lot better. I did get very dizzy and felt light headed, but over all I do feel a lot better only after 1 pill!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Was diagnosed with Influenza and was prescribed Tamiflu. Cost me $140 out of the pocket. Took 2 pills and felt worse than I did before taking them. Vomiting was horrible. Then had to pay to go back to doctor because of all the vomiting. Gave me new prescriptions. Will just ride the flu out next time. Cost me more than just letting it take it's course. Tamiflu definitely not worth the cost or vomiting. Contacted drug company and no reimbursements are given."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "bad medicine. I was prescribed this along w a z pak for my flu and bronchitis combo. The last 24 hours have been hell with extreme stomach stabbing pains. Z paks are god's gift so I know it's not them, after reading online others having this nightmare w Tamiflu, I finally understand why and I've stopped taking it. Sure would've been nice to get a warning from the pharmacist or doctor. My stomach seriously feels like it's ruined from this. Feels like someone is stabbing me in the stomach every 20 seconds like clockwork. Thanks, bad medication!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Both my children and I got the flu and were prescribed tamiflu. I was surprised that even with insurance it cost 46 bucks per prescription. Seems a bit high to me. I couldn't even get my kids to take it because the taste of it made my son throw up. I stopped taking mine about three days in because of how sick to my stomach it made me feel. If I get the flu again I will just ride it out and not bother with the tamiflu."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "My flu came on hard and fast 4 days ago. Woke up with a tickle in my throat and by noon I had a barking cough and 102 fever. In my opinion, all the tamiflu has done at this point is hasten the rate of dehydration that I'm already experiencing. I can't believe I paid $135 to make myself feel even worse. I still feel like I was hit by a truck, feeling like there is no end in sight for this nasty bug."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Felt tingle in throat and moderate joint pain Tuesday night. Woke up Wednesday morning full blown flu. Severe joint pain, headache, body ache and minor cough. Felt like I had been hit by truck. Had 103 temp. Went to Dr and was prescribed tamiflu and z/pac. Slept all day Wednesday and night. Woke up Thursday temp down to 99 and felt 90% better. Friday all symptoms of flu are gone and normal temp. Was given 5 days of tamiflu so I took another and got very nauseated. Don't know if I'll finish prescription or not."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I am on the second day with Tamiflu, 3 more days to go. Had not been able to sleep at all even if I managed to, I will have nightmares. Had diarrhea and no appetite. What kind of medication is this? I am pay so much for it ! Wonder if I should stop taking it."
