Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Well, 7 weeks pregnant and diagnosed with tonsillitis and influenza. Tamiflu caused me to have continuous projectile vomiting for 3 hours after taking it. I had to discontinue treatment and ride the flu out. Body is handling the Amoxicillin fine though for the tonsillitis."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was so sick I could barely open my eyes, or talk, or walk. Fever 40'c, chills, constant vomiting. Massive dehydration. Thought I would have a heart attack. Was ready to call ambulance. Took tamiflu. Vomited first dose. Next morning ate toast, try Again. Kept it down. Felt nauseous but concentrated on keeping it down. Well by that afternoon, fever gone. Not out of the woods yet but big improvement. Look, I was 11/10 sick and this stuff took me to about an 8/10 in 12hours. By 2 days later I'm about a 5/10. It makes you hallucinate, but if you're lying in bed sleeping, just think of it as dreams. I decided to be boss here. I ate a piece of toast (even though I wasn't hungry) before every dose. I put nice calm music on to ensure my dreams and hallucinations were calm also. Don't drink water in the first 30 min of taking it, it will make it easier to keep down. If you're truly very very sick, these side affects don't matter compared to the improvement. It could save your life."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was so excited to start tamiflu. I thought that it would help the pain go away and shorten the symptoms. It all started with a mild cough and a sore throat. The next day I woke up with a 102.6 fever and around 3am and started vomiting. I went to urgent care the next day and they gave me tamiflu. I will NEVER take this again. I was more nauseous than before and I was vomiting like crazy! After taking this medicine, I feel worse than I did before I started taking it. I 100% do NOT recommend."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I used this drug for suspected Swine Flu. It definitely works wonders but what I noticed was that it affected my brain in some ways. I am confused and less tolerant than I was before. I am hoping it is temporary. "

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was given Tamiflu by the hospital, and at first, it seemed to work. I didn't have such a bad runny nose, or coughing. However, the side effects were just horrible. I had nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headaches, and, as my friend describes it, I was "just not with it." I took it in pill form, and I think it was perhaps because of the plastic-feeling outer cover I was forced to swallow. I don't particularly recommend it, especially since it also gave me a little insomnia. That was a slight problem, having the flu and all, since sleeping is actually important if I want to heal."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "All I can say is thank god for anti nausea meds! I took Tamiflu with a bit of food, as instructed and within 20-30 mins was violently throwing up, which wasn’t at all part of my flu symptoms. Back to the doctor I went to get anti nausea meds prescribed and the moment I took them I felt completely better. Ate more food and was able to easily take tamiflu with no issues. I understand it’s a super strong drug, but if you really need it, I recommend requesting an anti nausea medication to go along with it."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I woke up Monday morning and I had started to feel really run down and exhausted. I though I just had a bad cold so I just made sure to rest all day. Tuesday morning I woke up with a fever, congestion, and I could barely get out of bed. Thursday afternoon I finally went to the doctor where I was diagnosed with the Influenza A (H3N2) Virus. They prescribed me Tamiflu to see if it would help with my symptoms. So that Thursday night at around 10pm I take the medicine and an hour later the nausea started. I began throwing up too. I have never felt so nauseous before, it was horrible! I ended up in the emergency room at 4am to see if they could give me anti-nausea medication to make it stop and they did. I did take the medication on an empty stomach but that's because I had absolutely no appetite all week while sick. I definitely wont be taking this medication again. It is not worth feeling that nauseous ever again!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I was diagnosed with the flu and tried tamiflu. I had one pill and three hours later I had horrible side effects - I couldn't keep anything down, insane nausea, lost all feeling in my extremities and my hands and feet cramped up so I couldn't move. Sharp pains all through my chest. It was bad, had to go to the ER. Two of the doctors told me to keep taking it but the ER nurse told me she doesn't like Tamiflu and I could stop taking it. I stopped and woke up feeling way better."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Avian Influenza "My Granddaughter all of a sudden came down with a high fever of 105 degrees. We took her to urgent care her flu test came up positive for Type A. The doctor gave her Tamiflu and within 1 day her fever was completely gone. Within two days she was 60% better. Unfortunately I became ill and sure enough tested positive for Type A flu. I was given Tamiflu and I have never experienced such quick results. I was very ill with fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, terrible congestion, and coughing. After 1 day on Tamiflu, my symptoms lessened. I was 50% better within 24 hours and 70% better within 48 hours. The only downside was I lost some hearing in my left ear & have 2 severely infected ears. Dr. said side effect of Tamiflu is ear infections."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "This medicine is trash. It barely helped with my flu at all the first day and I'm on the second day of using it and I've never been so nauseous in my life. It feels like I spent hours on a rocking boat it sucks so much I'll never take this medicine again."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "My fever went down within a few hours and I was feeling better the next day, but weak. After finishing the last dose of 5 days, I became extremely nauseous and my abdomen hurt so badly, I didn't think I would survive. I didn't vomit, but stomach pain was excruciating. It has lasted over 24 hours, so far and I can't find any advice regarding what to do about the pain."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Swine Flu "After contracting Swine flu I was given Tamiflu as treatment. While it has,(touch wood), prevented the virus spreading to my lungs which was a concern as an asthmatic, the side effects are less than pleasant. I found that it made you confused, unable to think properly, string sentences together or concentrate. Made me irritable, thirsty, stomach cramps, muscle aches and very very sleepy. "

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I am one of those sticklers who tries to follow every direction given by my physician. When it came to treating the flu, I was certainly no different...until I took Tamiflu. I felt so horrible the first two days with a fever of 100.2+, that I didn't know if it was helping or hurting. By day three, my fever broke (thanks to Advil) and every time I took Tamiflu, I nearly threw up, with or without food. I am so nauseous that I can hardly move. It made me very irritable and negative. I only have three pills left, but I just cannot force myself to take them. Everyone reacts differently to medicine. This is just my experience. Good luck to the fellow flu survivors!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Tested positive for Influenza via nasal swab on 2nd day of symptoms. Noticed significant improvements: fever gone within 24 hours, body aches gone, headache gone, extreme fatigue gone, nausea gone. Left with what feels like a minor respiratory infection (i.e. chesty cough but not very painful) and I still tire easily but not "extreme fatigue". Was also given Augmentin as a prophylactic against bacterial pneumonia as I have a history of secondary bacterial chest infections following the flu. This has been an absolute miracle drug for me personally and I hope the same comes to the others in need of it on this site."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I am 18 years old, and I have had influenza B before. I first started noticing symptoms on Saturday night, beginning with a mild cough. I woke up the next morning feeling awful, I couldn’t leave bed, I was running an 101.7 degree fever. The next day (yesterday) I felt twice as bad, I was running an 102.2 degree fever, so I went to urgent care. I was prescribed Mucinex and Tamiflu. 30 minutes after taking the medicines, I vomited twice. I thought it was just the Mucinex, so when I woke up this morning I only took the tamiflu. I have been vomiting all day. Not sure if it’s just my body rejecting the medication, but I know I felt much better before taking this."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I took Tamiflu last year 2 days after having flu symptoms and being recommended by my doctor. At first it worked great, completely knocked out my fever and chills. Then on day 2 of taking this drug, I got the worst headache of my life. I’ve never had migraines but I’m certain this drug caused me to have one. I had to lay in the dark, with no sound or light for 4 days. I would have rather had the flu for a month than take this medication. I would highly recommend NOT taking this med, it’s not worth it."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I discovered an effective flu reliever in Tamiflu. I was at work and about to go home because my body felt heavy, my joints were quite aching and my body temperature was hotter than usual. There seemed to be flu attack going around our work place because the staffs were getting it one after the other. So I decided to see the GP and I’m diagnosed with Influenza A. Tamiflu was prescribed for twice a day. I took it and it was definitely less than 8 hours before the onset of symptoms. I experienced fever, chills and headaches symptoms but improved immediately. The good effects of Tamiflu. The next day I was well and good and took my bath as I do every morning. Indeed Tamiflu was very effective and it did not give me any bad side effects at all."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Started with chills and an achy body. Temperature peaked at 101.7. Went to the doctor and was given Tamiflu. After two doses my temperature had gone back to normal. I did feel nauseous after the first dose and took Zofran to relieve the nausea. Fever did return but only a little over 100. After four doses no fever and feel pretty normal. Mind you, I did get the flu shot as I do every year. This is the first time in 30 years that I have gotten the flu!"

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "I went from fine to congested to full-on fever/chills/vomiting/cough in 24 hours. Got tested at urgent care right away (Type A influenza), was prescribed Tamiflu and an anti-nausea med to take with it, and was dosed within a day of my first symptoms. By the next morning, after two doses, I felt human again. I'm on Day 3 now and the fever and chills are gone. Still have a little digestive upset, but the vomiting is long gone. I feel like I'm in the final stages of a head cold. It has been amazing. I understand the secret is to start taking it as soon as possible after symptoms start. Probably helps, too, that I had a flu shot. I would definitely use this again."

Tamiflu (oseltamivir) for Influenza "Took this medication to help treat the flu. I took this with food because I have a sensitive stomach. Almost immediately after taking I began having extreme nausea and diarrhea. I’ve been throwing up since I took this medication and noticed that this is one of the most common side effects. I personally would not recommend."
