Estroven (multivitamin with minerals) "I took Estroven, which is a complete multivitamin. I had a blood test, I had high triglycerides, and my liver enzymes were elevated. I stopped taking this Estroven for one month and retested my liver enzymes and they were already six points lower. Please be aware of this when you’re taking this medication."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "I was told to take PreserVision AREDS 2 after an eye exam where the Dr. thought he saw early possible macula degeneration in one eye. I took them every day and was noticing that my sight seems to be deteriorating and I had more floaters. My eyes seemed tired more after playing piano or reading. Then I ran out and spent a few days without them. My vision improved greatly! Less floaters and more able to focus on different tasks. I just played piano without my glasses! Go figure. Gotta talk at my appointment in June but I don't think my body Likes them."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "Trying to use this product, bad nausea, unable to take 2 per day as recommended. Tried Vitalux - body cant handle them, stomach problems continually with both medications. Don't see any difference to eye sight. Have Drusen which told could be sign of age related macular degeneration but some articles read say you can have them with no degeneration, thinking of stopping this medication at least going to talk with doctor when see him in June."

Centrum Silver (multivitamin with minerals) "I need to WARN all people out there that this multivitamin can develop depression. I have never diagnosed depression before and 2 days after taking this I developed a terrible "sad/down" mood which I never felt before. I called PFIZER to explain this to them and they told me Centrum has no side effects at all...really?. I did my research and found out about 4K cases were reported on side effects, being one of them major depression. I took it ONLY for 10 days and it was the worst 10 days of my life. I had been thru some bad stages in my life yet never been depressed. The day after I took Centrum I had this horrible feelings of discouragement. I stopped the medication today and hope to go back to normal very soon"

I never connected these symptoms to a vitamin, but noticed that I forgot to take it for a couple days and I was symptom free. I am interested in the ingredients that might be causing the flare up."

Centrum Silver (multivitamin with minerals) "Within 3 months of starting Centrum Silver, my skin around my neck in front and towards my shoulders became very red and irritated. I tried a prescription gel on them but that didn't help. Tried not taking the vitamin and within 2 months the irritation went away along with most of the red coloring. I am a 64 year old male in good health and have never had any of these issues before. I may try starting to take these vitamins again to see if the irritation returns."

Centrum Silver (multivitamin with minerals) "I have been taking Centrum Silver for years. No problems. I have noticed you have up the percentages on some ingredients to 100% or more on some things. I am now having upset stomach and I think it may be related to the vitamin. I take with food. I also take extra C,D,B12, Maganisum. I am at a loss which it might be. I wish you had left it alone. I may have to change."

Ocuvite (multivitamin with minerals) "purchased ocuvite eye vit & min supplement adult 50+ for $19.97 at walmart for my age-related dry eyes . I (and most of the human population need to supplement for age-related dry eyes. I want to nourish my eyes because they give me the world! exp date 2019-09 box read: 'minigels' and 'soft gels'. opened box and bottle to find: quite large and quite hard to the touch, deep red-colored pills---NOT 'minigel', not 'soft gel'! ok, took one on faith and with hope. 5 hours later, found myself sick as the proverbial dog overnight! wasted $19.97. I am retired from 30+ years in Nursing/HealthCare and NO, I do NOT have the flu nor food poisoning lol."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "This morning when I woke up, I thought “Why am I waking up daily feeling tired and unrested and why am I experiencing nightly, negative and complex dreams?” Tried to determine what’s new in my life — no new meds, no dietary change, no new vitamins — wait — I started taking this Bausch + Lomb pill due to cataract growth in both eyes. Recommended by a friend. Decided to research side effects, which led me to this website / postings. I swear God is doing the leading! After reading a few, I realized that I had experienced several of the same symptoms. Nausea? Check! Stomach cramps? Check! Diarrhea? Check! Blurry vision ? Check! The first symptom was definitely nausea and there was no logical explanation for it. Prior to finding this website, I didn’t take the morning dose today and decided to stop them entirely for a couple weeks. After reading every single post, I’m not swallowing another. They’re going back to Costco!"

After breakfast this morning, I took my first one and almost immediately felt sick with nausea, fatigue, near vomiting and a slight temperature. I'm glad I checked here for reviews... no more for me!!!"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "Have been taking AREDS2 for over three years. One pill twice a day WITH A MEAL. My left eye is wet AMD and dr told me and what I read was that AREDS2 will not help wet AMD. My right eye is dry and has remained dry with these pills. Never had any bad side effects but I follow the directions too. Very pleased."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "My mother has taken Areds for years. They recently changed to a brighter red gel pill. Since then, she has been in and out of hospitals for gas, abdominal pain and inability to eat due to heartburn and a “full feeling”. She was labeled as “ Failure to thrive “. We stopped the AREdS and she was better within a week."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "The AREDs 2 I have been taking for over a month now. I do not have any eye problems except for a slight cataract on one eye. I’m basically taking it as a precautionary measure. I have found that in general my vision has improved some and my eyes are not red in the morning. The cap is easy to swallow and I take it with a full glass of water .I have to time it perfectly as to the timing of any dairy ,antacids,and calcium consumption. I Feel that it is doing good!"

My optometrist has done tests because I have fair skin and blue eyes which normally mean more likely to have the macular degeneration and the latest test showed improvement."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "Just a tip for anyone having issues with nausea while taking this product: I was experiencing the same issue and I switched to the chewables. Ever since that I have never felt it again! I think something in the pills gel coating causes that feeling. Hope that this helps!"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "Dr said I needed cataract surgery. So, I decided to have the surgery on both eyes. During my first visit, for the preop eye exam, the optometrist recommended AREDS 2. I've been on the ARED for that 18 months, and have just come into some unstable blood pressure readings. [I take no BP meds]. I mistakenly was only taking 1 tab a day. Started on 2, recently. [Up until I started the 2 tab dosage, I had no BP abnormalities.] Seeing these comments from others, I have linked the stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision, headaches, upset stomach, I am experiencing, to this drug. My situation may be unique, in that I take an over 50 multivitamin, 5000u D3, 99mg Potassium, glucosamine/chondroitin. Vitamin overload? My daughter, a RN, has warned me about excessive potassium. Can cause heart issues. I am discontinuing the AREDS. HTH,"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "As my husband takes a lot of medicines it was hard to tell which started his thankfully past illness. He started getting mouth ulcers. We went to the ER sent him home though it was canker sores and would go away. After that he became dehydrated and nauseous, finally in hospital again for 6 days diagnosed with diverticulitis. I couldn't find the correlation until I was reading these reviews. He was taking these 2 times a day for 2 weeks before onset. Again not sure yet if these caused it but to be safe, than sorry. Throwing out and appointment with eye doctor coming up."

Centrum Silver (multivitamin with minerals) "The new Centrum Silver for 50+ with a new formula of higher vitamin C and zinc has more side effects on me than the previous ones. Why did they change it? The vitamin does give me more energy and sharpness, but I found out that it causes me to have itchy rashes and allergies too. I found out after I stopped taking it for a week and then took it again to see if it is the one causing it. Sometimes these supplements will do more harm than good."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "It is most likely the zinc causing nausea, but could also be vitamin A. I have a very sensitive digestive system and I can take Lutein 40mg, Zeaxanthin, Vitamin C 1000mg, and E with NO issues. If your doctor insists, at least try the vitamins other than zinc and A and see how you feel. Some are better than non!"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "I took this drug for about 7 years and during that time I felt almost constantly unwell with stomach pain, gastritis, fatigue, hand bruising, nausea, and more. I had many tests but drs could not figure what was causing my problems. Finally, one dr suggested that I stop taking Preservision AREDS2 for 2 weeks and within 3 days, I felt so much better...even my hands stopped bruising. I think it's the massive amount of Zinc (80 mg) that one gets each day with the 2 capsules that caused my problem. Now I'm taking Lutein and trying to get more Zinc in my diet. There should be more information available about the pros and cons of this vitamin!"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) "My mom was prescribed this medication for her Macular Degeneration. She was 84 at the time. Poor thing, the first night she took one pill, she was doubled over in so much abdominal pain she couldn't sleep at all. I couldn't imagine why something for your eye would cause some abdominal pain. However, it was the only thing she had taken differently when the pain started. So we knew it was that. A few weeks later, I decided to try it myself. I had such intense cramping in my abdomen, I couldn't even stand up straight. So based on the reaction my mother and I got, this medication dose is too high for people to take. They need to figure out the dose that will still work to help with the eye diseases, but doesn't cause you to double over in agony from abdominal pain!"

Centrum Silver (multivitamin with minerals) "Recent blood test during physical revealed high Iron levels in my blood test. My research tells me that the vast majority of post menopausal women don't need extra iron . This Vitamin supplement in Dallas, TX, United States (DFW-Dallas-Fort Worth Intl.)marketed to women over 50 . My Dr advised me to stop taking any vitamin supplement that contains Iron. I plan to switch back to One a Day /50 . Which has no iron in it ."
