For Amenorrhea "I was prescribed Provera for 10 days at 6pm every day. I have had no period since my early 20's and then it was only on meds. I have long history of hormonal problems and have been diagnosed with Amenohrrea as many of you, and I have been in and out of IVF specialist clinics while they all tried to sell me theirs since and no one would actually help or give hope to concieve but they were all quick to say that I had premature Ovarian failure however, I never gave up and found a Dr. a fertility specialist and although I am over weight, have been found to have thyroid issues, and have a thin endometrium with high I repeat high levels of Estrogen. I was prescribed this little pill aka Provera. So ladies do not loose hope, ask God & trust!"

For Amenorrhea "Stopped seeing my periods for 5 months after using Oralcon contraceptives. I then went to a gynecologist and they said I have one 4cm fibroid. Then on the 6th month I had my period but it was super heavy. When I woke up in the morning I couldn't walk and when I sat on the bathroom seat, clots just fell out....like so many clots. Went to a doctor, I was given Provera take for 10 days and then after I saw my periods. Today is my third day and they not heavy, hopefully they stay like this. I have minor period cramps but not so bad."

For Amenorrhea "During the ten days on Provera I was emotional, my boobs hurt severely, my face broke out like crazy, and I had horrible fatigue. Two days after the 10 days of taking Provera, I have the worst period I have ever had in my entire life. Having to change my pad/ tampon every single hour was disgusting, I couldn't even enjoy a shower because even afterward I still bled non stop. Each day that passes, the heavier my period gets. Today is my 6th day, and 4,5,&6 where heavy as hell, but 5&6 had excruciating cramps. And too many blood clots! :( I do not recommend this pill at all."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Last September I went to the OB-GYN for my heavy bleeding because I am tired of taking birth control and other meds. They prescribed me with Provera in an attempt to prolong my "dry time". It seemed to work for about 2 months and then suddenly I began having issues with even heavier bleeding, passing large clots, and shorter cycles (18-21 days). This continued until March of this year, when I bled so heavily I had to be put in the hospital for an emergency D&C and had to have a blood transfusion (3 units). Now I continually have issues with hemorrhaging. The Provera made an already bad situation worse. Now it looks like I may have to pursue surgical options as a result. If you are wondering whether or not to take Provera, DON'T!!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've had pcos since I was a teen, very irregular periods dr says I don't ovulate. High school sweet heart and I got married and we want children. It's very difficult having pcos. Dr proscribed provera to induce a period. She said it would shed the lining and would be like starting "new". Took 1 pill a day for 7 days. Took 3 days to start my period after last pill. I do not recommend this pill to anyone. I've had severe bleeding for several days and large blood clots. I soak through at least 2 super plus tampons an hour. It leaks so bad through the tampon I have to also wear pads. Pads have rubbed me raw and the baby bleeding and constant changing of tampons has made me raw from the top of my vagina to my butthole. I'm very weak and dizzy."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking Provera January 7th because I had 3 different periods in the month of December, regular (change every 2-3 hrs), to light (barely noticed it (changed every 4-5 hrs), to extremely heavy with huge clots (literally changed everytime I stood up because there would be a gush of blood). I was told to take it for about 2 weeks and that I would have a period afterwards. I stopped bleeding but I got my period a couple of days before the 2 weeks were up. The side effects I've had are nausea (seriously sick to my stomach, the mere thought of food almost made me regurgitate), and my body was extremely sore and it made me tired. I still have pills and honestly not sure if I should still be taking it but I guess the pills work."

For Amenorrhea "I hadn't had a period in 3 months. My doctor prescribed me Provera 10 mg once a day for 10 days. She stated if I get my period in those 10 days to stop taking the pill at that time. Today was day 7 and my period came. I had no side effects from this medication. I had normal cramps at the onset of my period this morning. It seems to be a normal beginning flow as with any other time I had my period. I will report back to let everyone know how long it lasted."

For Amenorrhea "I’ve started taking Provera for having missed a period for a couple months and trying to conceive. I’ve had irregular periods in the past on and off because the doctor told me I’m “somewhat poly cystic”. I’ve taken the 10mg for 10 days. While taking it I felt moody, had acne break outs, breast tenderness, and mild nausea. I started spotting on about day 4 after taking it. I’m now on day 6 and have SEVERE cramping to the point it hurts to breathe. I remember taking this in the past and it made me have the worst period ever. I know the lining needs to shed and when it does it’s going to be sooooo heavy. Guess the pill does the trick, but just have to be ready for the pain :("

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am 46 and live on the UK, i've just been put on this Provera medication today. I have had numerous blood tests and have have been told that I am on my way to menopause, kick started after having my left ovary removed due to a cyst in 2015. I have been lucky in the sense that periods weren't too bad for me growing up, but over the last couple of years they have been very irregular. Lately though, I have had quite heavy flooding and are awaiting an appointment to have an hysteroscopy. My last period finished Christmas eve and since then I have had spotting every day, sometimes a lot. Hot flushes, headaches and irratic sleeping patterns. I am taking prescribed iron tablets and vitamin D as I feel exhausted. So, today the doctor put me on Provera, 2 tablets a day. I am hoping that they will help."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My cycle have been on for over 3 months so I went to the doctor. She prescribed provera. The first day after starting the medication I cramped (I'm not a cramper). The cramps stopped but the bleeding never did. About two weeks on the pill, I started bleeding really heavy and passing too many clots then I came research. I wouldn't recommend this drug to anyone."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have abnormal Uterine bleeding and after bleeding for 2 months straight I was given provera 2x before It actually worked. On top of it all it took almost 5 days to fully stop my bleeding. Thank god I stopped bleeding, but I still have cramps. It’s been exactly 17 days that I have not bleed. But now I’m wondering my pills are almost done. What going to happen to me? Am I going to start bleeding heavy again? Is it going to never stop again? I’m so afraid of what will happen when I’m done with provera. Ugh!!!"

For Amenorrhea "PLEASE READ!! I've always had normal periods before and while on birth control pills. I was on the pill for about 8 years. After stopping birth control, I only had 2 periods. 4 months had went by and my period was still absent so I decided to make an appointment to visit my gynecologist. I did blood work and everything came back normal so she decided to prescribe me Provera to take over 10 days. I was extremely nervous to take it because of the side effects I could possibly experience. I took the pill for 10 days and had no side effects at all. Typically I'm an over thinker so I began to wonder if it was even working for me. 2 days after stopping Provera, my period starts and it's normal. Reading reviews before taking Provera really helped me have an idea so I hope my review helps the next woman who may be experiencing this!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My experience with Provera has been a very painful situation. I am 26 and was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome at the age of 22. I never had regular periods since the age of 15. I was always on some form of birth control to regulate. I was taking the Depo-Povera shot (depo shot) for about 6 months before I decided to get off due to the excessive weight gain. The Nurse Practitioner weaned me off of the shot and decided to give me the Micronor birth control pills which did not help as well. I have been on my cycle for 2.5. months. I can ot afford insurance, the only thing I could do was to go to the emergency room. I seen the ER dr there where she gave me the Provera 10mg four times a day. My bleeding has gotten heavier."

For Amenorrhea "I'm 26 years old and have always had irregular periods. Recently found out that I have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and was prescribed provera. I took it twice a day for 10 days...and started bleeding about 3 days after they finished. I can honestly say it was the worst period I've ever had! It was very heavy & I felt sick and dizzy. And I was so emotional and I never get any sort of PMS usually. My period also lasted for 10 days. It stopped on Sunday there and I'm bleeding again today (Thursday). Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am 31 yrs old. Since the birth of my first child, I've had very heavy, painful periods. Often irregular as in a couple times a month. But I have been bleeding for almost 5 months now. Three months ago, I was put on Provera 10 mg once a day. It lightened my bleeding after a few days, then I had brown discharge for a few days. But I started bleeding again even while taking the Provera. I first had a 10 day supply, then a 30 day supply, another 2 weeks, and now 2 more. But it has changed nothing. I'm bleeding and cramping nonstop and still have no answers. No fibroids, polyps, or cysts."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is my 3rd time taking this medication provera for problem bleeding. The first time it worked like for 4 days. After the 4th day I couldn’t stop bleeding had to go back to ER. I was put on provera again. This time it didn’t work at all . Actually when I took the last pill the next day I couldn’t stop bleeding. I had clots the size of grapefruits . I was so lightheaded I went to ER and I needed a blood transfusion. I was put on Provera again for the third time . See how they work for me this time . On my 3rd day taking them . I guess they work different on everyone."
