Toujeo SoloStar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "I have been on Toujeo for two weeks and my sugars have been disappointing to say the least! My sugar was 113 @ BT and waking was 260!!! I have to take way too much N to cover my blood sugar during the day/ after meals to makeup for the Toujeo not effectively working! My chest has been hurting from stressing out & my blood sugars have been so unstable with this new insulin. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOUJEO FOR ANY TYPE 1 DIABETICS! PLEASE REMOVE FROM SHELF AND SAVE LIVES."

Lantus (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I have been on the lantus for 6mos. and have been walking everyday up to 1hr. each day and have been eating well for about 1yr. and my BSG is still about 150 or higher and I have gained 47lbs since I started. That is the only thing different that I've been doing."

Toujeo SoloStar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "Do not use this insulin! It needs to be recalled asap! The first few months I was on it were fabulous, rock steady blood sugars. Last week all of a sudden it stopped working for me. I tried multiple batches and this was not a refrigeration or site injection issue. Other type ones have gone through this same issue. There is an article on diabetes daily toujeo-insulin-the-problem-i-had-with-this-insulin I understand that some may enjoy it, as I did, but it is unpredictable and not safe for use. How this is even on the market is beyond me. Do not use!"

Semglee (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I had awful side effects from Tresiba so my doctor prescribed Novolog. My insurance refused to cover it so I am now on Semglee. My blood glucose level has been better, however, it feels like I am injecting alcohol every time I use it. The burn is horrible."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "I was taking Lantus and it worked very well. Forced to change because of health plan and now I have very high blood sugars all of the time- never in range since switching. BASAGLAR DOES NOT WORK. Health plan said they were saving 25 million- I wonder why."

Lantus (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Lantus is my first treatment with insulin. I am presently at 22 units once a day and my numbers are much lower than before when just on metformin and glimepiride. I do not have to use glimeperide now. I do not have the terrible lows as before and my highs are a lot less. I feel better, in general but I have gained some weight."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "My medical aid in 2018 forced the Basaglar insulin (long working) as the only insulin they will fully cover on my medical aid plan/cover. I previously used Protaphane insulin as long-acting insulin. Since I used Basaglar insulin my daily usage of both the long- and short-acting (Humalog) insulin has increased dramatically. When I started with Basaglar insulin I have kept it to the similar dosage as I used with the Protaphane insulin but I was shocked that the Basaglar insulin do not worked as the Protaphane insulin. To kept my sugar levels between 6 and 10, I had to almost double my usage with the Basaglar insulin. The Basaglar insulin had a negative impact on my health as I was forced by my medical aid provider to only use Basaglar insulin. My review is that the Basaglar insulin is the worst insulin I have ever used."

Toujeo SoloStar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I started this medicine a year ago. I take 15 units before bed plus 2 Metformin pills a day. At first, I was getting fantastic results. Waking blood sugar every morning was under 100 and no side effects. Now, a year later, I have an itchy, scaly rash on my right side that will not go away, waking blood sugars are all over the place ranging from the 180's to the 280's, blurry vision, and tiredness. I've had no changes in diet or exercise and I'm not overweight. It's as if the drug just stopped working altogether. I am requesting my doctor take me off this and try something else."

Lantus (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "My sugars were out of control and I didn't know it because I had stopped checking. When I did it was 523 and my A1C was 13. My doctor was concerned and told me to start taking Lantus at a dose of 20 units per day. Then he switched it almost immediately to 30 units. After taking it a week, he upped it again to 35 units a day because my fasting sugars were still in the 180-190 range. My only side effect was that my vision became blurry - which frankly scared me! When I saw the eye doctor she told me my vision had significantly improved from one year ago!! I was very surprised and thankful to be ok. That's the only side effect I can attribute to the Lantus."

Lantus SoloStar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Lantus has been amazing for me. I struggled for so long with high blood sugar numbers and Lantus has changed that for me. I actually have normal numbers now! Lantus Solostar is so easy to use and completely painless! Its been incredible. Just one injection lasts all day long. Also Lantus doesn't peak so no low blood sugars here! I recommend Lantus and give it a ten rating. I can't stress enough how amazed I am on how well this product works! I was struggling with my blood sugar being high for so long and nothing seemed to be working! I tried pills, other insulins and still I was high! After taking Lantus my blood sugar level was actually normal! It continues to stay normal now. I was so surprised at first I even double checked my meter!"

Toujeo SoloStar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I have been on toujeo for almost a year. I have chronic health conditions and then got type 2 diabetes. The longer you have it the harder it is to control. I have noticed new things that haven't gone away. One eye is blurry, sometimes both of them. I have convultions in my boby that drive me crazy. It's not fun to have your body jumping around. I have also been having cold sweats, dizziness & headache. I am going to go back to Lantus. It took me awhile to realize these symptoms were not normal to my other illnessess. But I am sure now."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Basaglar is the worst! Only lowered blood sugar from 211 to 177 with 15u. It did produce a screaming tinnitus, insomnia, muscle ache, blurred vision, difficulty focusing, shaky, brain throb, head in a fog, higher blood pressure, anxiety, panic spells, nightmares hallucinations seeing something that is not there. There is a lot more in this than the manufacturer claims. It is only good in the garbage can and is where it is now. I feel a lot better not taking it and it was inhibiting my exercise and diet program. On track now."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Well I for one can honestly say THIS MEDICATION Basaglar does not work! Blood sugar was 400 after taking 40units of Basaglar overnight blood sugar when I woke up was 360 so I had to take rapid acting insulin to bring blood sugar down. I think they are trying get rid of us all with this stuff!"

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "Like everyone else my insurance company forced me to switch from Lantus to Basaglar. Within a week I had a strange rash on my torso. Only recently did a biopsy conclude that it began when I began Basaglar. Other side effects for me are extreme exhaustion and decline in muscle strength. Instability walking and serious weight gain. In the past 18 months I have been totally unable to control my blood sugars and it is taking a toll on my health. I am now having to fight with my insurance company to cover Lantus. "

Lantus SoloStar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "It seems equal to other insulin products with the exception of the delivery system. The pen they use is junk. I'll go further, it is hazardous. The more I use it the more pens I find that jam up. Their little rubber part gets deformed and stops going down. When it stops you apply more pressure and the needle wiggles and actually tears your skin. Sometimes when you pull the pen out it will release and squirt the insulin out into the air. The problem has been ongoing across numerous pens and numerous lots. It is a design flaw or manufacturing defect."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "My doctor had me take Basaglar as a generic for Lantus. Bad mistake, I ended up fainting a lot or passing out slept all day and woke up to 313 blood sugar this is without eating or even drinking. This is without taking Metformin pill but still disappointed. I have seen my blood sugar at the highest close to 250 after eating a large meal and this was not worth taking."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "Not sure if its purely due to basaglar, but ever since I've taken this medication I've been getting respiratory infections after stopping this medication the infections disappeared. I was on antibiotics weeks after weeks so at this point I'm going to blame poor quality of this product. This insulin is just not worth the damage; "flu like" symptoms is honestly the best way to explain it. The way the medication is metabolized by the body definitely has an issue somewhere more R&D should've been done. Please Eli Lily this product is very unpredictable compared to other insulins (levemir/lantus/humulin) its most definitely not as aggressive as lantus is. It also seems to not work very well with novolog in my experience its like gambling."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I used Lantus for years. Starting Jan. this year, my insurance company forces me to switch to Basaglar which is totally not working for me. I have data in the reader to prove my A1C is going higher than ever. Why would insurance companies force patients to switch to a drug that is not proven?"

Lantus (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "The drug is very effective. The only problems I have had are low blood sugar levels while working in hot environments. In Saudi in the spring and summer months I would constantly go low while working in the heat."

Toujeo SoloStar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "Do NOT use Toujeo SoloStar for diabetes treatment. I have been using this insulin for more than half a year now, and I can say with certainty: Toujeo SoloStar is dangerous. My rating is 2, because using it is still better than dying without insulin(I have type 1 diabetes). Although I do not understand how this product has been approved for use. I have diabetes for more than 20 years now, and not once have I experienced a base insulin misbehave so much as the Toujeo SoloStar. The effects range from severe hyperglycemia (> 20 mMol/L) to persistent hypoglycemia (< 3.0 mMol/L). Persistent, because even eating 60g of carbohydrates barely raises my blood sugar level. So basically this thing is unpredictable. After some searching I found that I am not the only one experiencing the above problems. TL;DR Do NOT use Toujeo SoloStar, its effects are unpredictable."

Lantus (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Used to inject Novolin N twice a day (50 units mornings and at bedtime) and R throughout the day. Much harder to control blood glucose and it allowed me to cheat by eating that cake and increase amounts of injections. I use Lantus now once a day. So much easier. Still trying to adjust amounts (last night blood glucose was 43). Supplement with 5 units of NovoLog before each meal. Insulin spike lasts only one hour."

Basaglar (insulin glargine) for Diabetes, Type 1 "This Basaglar insulin doesn't work for me at all. I'm very disappointed because my blood sugar levels are erratic. I can't eat if my blood sugar reading is 269 or even higher. I'm always hungry and don't feel healthy having stomach aches very often . I hope this nightmare will end and this impotent insulin will be taken off the market . What a garbage ."
