Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I took my 2nd injection two days ago and for the first time in two years I can bend my left knee to a much greater degree. I feel very optimistic about playing tennis again. I was told that I am on bone and bone and needed a knee replacement. Go try this injection before considering surgery.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I am a72 year old woman previously very active hiking daily, yoga daily. I fell and tore minuscus in three places...4 doctors have told me to do knee replacements...however I have chosen to do Orthovisc 4 shots every 6 months....as long as I do strengthening exercise I am 90% pain free..however cannot hike hills or mountains and yoga is limited...but can swim and bicycle..Since I know so many with complications from knee surgeries....I will continue on this route. Mind you I lead a very full life and on my feet at least 9 hours a day....

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: Had my first injection today. No big deal at all. After reading all kinds of reviews I was anticipating a rough experience. In and out of the office in 20 minutes then off to work.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I have osteoarthritis in both knees. I had a torn meniscus repaired in my left knee a year ago. My knees were killing me. The surgery provided some relief but they both hurt constantly and going upstairs or an incline was awful! I had my first of 3 injections last week. The shot was uncomfortable but bearable. My knees hurt pretty bad for the first few days after the shot. Now almost a week later my knees feel so much better. It's unbelievable. I had learned to deal with pain when I stood from sitting and pain when I sat down! To not feel the pain when I stand is amazing! I highly recommend the injections!

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: 38 year old male with history of knee pain and troubles. Osgood Schlatters with both knees from age 14. Have had constant aches and pains for the past three years. Aleve no help, Mobic no help. Cortisone shots helped, but I was interested in something that would help without accelerating the damage. I've been through my three shots of Orthovisc in each knee, last one a week ago. The difference is night and day. No constant ache, no warm knees. Things are great so far.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I'm 50 years old and overweight. I had a torn meniscus repair (R) in July 2011. I have osteoarthritis in both my knees. I had a cortizone injection in my (R) knee and felt okay for a week, still taking medicines, still in pain. Had the 3 shots of Orthovisc in November and never received any relief. Changed medication (meloxicam) and was given pain medicines. Pain medicines work if I take two, but it really upsets my stomach.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan): I am 52 years old and have had pain in my knee for years, probably due to tearing my patella and fracturing my tibia plateau and I also have a little arthritis. My prior surgery was a huge waste of time and money and got little if no relief. I am now on my 3rd shot in a series of 4 and couldn't be happier. The shot itself is no big deal after they deaden the area with lidocaine, in fact I couldn't even tell when they gave me the shot. I highly recommend this as an alternative to surgery if at all possible.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: It's 9 days before Iron man Louisville and I just had my second shot. I'm 33, and ran 10 marathons last year and this year I'm feeling it. I have received the steroid shots in the past but two weeks ago got the first Orthovisc shot. That was on a Friday and I swam 2.4 miles and biked 70 with no pain. This week I've run over 20 miles, one 13 mile run, and am still feeling good. The shot was no big deal - I just put ice on my knee the hour before I went in and right after and this helped. I didn't need any assistance walking after - it just feels a little swollen. Oh well - time to go run!

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: Be positive. If you're in your forties when your pain starts you are very very lucky, I'm 24. So far I have had one shot in each knee. They were both painful, but nothing I can't handle because let's face it, we're getting these painful shots because we have a yet more painful condition. In the end, mine were fine, but my doctor DID use Lidocaine which he injected first. I have already had the cortisone injections and trust me, these Orthovisc ones start working a lot faster (but you REALLY get out your cane the first two days after the shot I warn you).

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I was diagnosed with lupus 4 years ago and have been living in constant pain. My knees have been the worst especially my right knee. I was offered the Orthovisc injections for the first time in May 2011. I just received my 3rd injection and I could tell immediately after the first one my knee was 95% better. I cannot express how good it feels to walk pain free for the first time in 4 years. I was near using a wheelchair every time I had to leave the house. I am so happy looking forward to seeing how long it lasts. My back quit hurting as well due to knee pain changing my gait caused back pain! I wish I had known about this sooner! I would recommend this to anyone. I'm so thrilled to feel like I use to and to be able to function.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I am 48 years old with osteoarthritis in both knees. Had my first injection of a series of 4 weekly, then will go to twice a year. I can already tell a tremendous difference. Was able to do over 30 minutes on the elipitical machine and recumbant bike each for the past week with no pain. Amazing. The injections pinch a little bit, but probably won't this week as the doctor advised me to not over do it the day before. If you are considering this treatment plan, I think you will be happy with the results. I am.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I have a meniscus tear in my left knee which hasn't bothered me much till this year due to all the shoveling I had to do. My knee was aching with sharp pain for weeks which led me to my Doctor. He gave me a shot of cortisone which didn't do much. He spoke to me about Orthovisc which is a series of 3 shots within 3 weeks consecutively. I had the 1st shot last week which wasn't too bad. After the shot I had pain for a couple of days, it really didn't feel like I was getting any relief. I went back for the 2nd shot 2 days ago. I had pain for the day and now today 2 days later I have no pain at all. Nothing. My pain is gone. This medication is definitely working for me. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these shots for everyone with knee pain.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan): I have been having pain in my knee for about 1 year. I am a nail tech and sitting was so painful. I was propping my leg up so it was straight all the time. Sleeping everything. It always had to be straight. I had my 3rd injection last week. Absolutely NO PAIN. The shots were painless. Just a pinch where the needle enters. No bruising no pain what so ever. Highly recommend this treatment.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I'm a 41 year old male, been playing volleyball for many years, and had a minor knee injury and went to the orthopedist to get it checked out. He said I had moderate osteoarthritis in both knees and gave me Orthovisc. One injection per week for 3 weeks, not too bad. A little pinch during the injections but no pain afterward. After a few weeks, I noticed a lot less crunching in the knees, and can squat normally again. I believe it has helped a lot, and I hope it continues! I also started taking cod liver oil (with meals) as I read this helps with joint repair and function. They're pretty cheap at any vitamin store. Good luck and I hope this helps someone.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I had Supartz shots two years ago with great success. I just had two of three of Orthovisc and so far my knees feel great. I hope Orthvisc lasts as long as Supartz. I would highly recommend both products

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I've been using Orthovisc for 3 years. The pain during injection was minimal, no biggie. For my last set of shots I used another doctor. (Both doctors are rheumatologists.) The shots were very painful. Needless to say that next time I am going back to the first doctor for my next series. I know knee replacement is in the future for me (both knees) but so far I am having very good success with the Orthovisc though I must admit that each time I do it it’s not as successful as the last. Well I guess that only stands to reason but let's face it, with therapy and Orthocisc I've been able to postpone surgery for 3 years and still counting.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I just had my second injection on 12/2--one more on 12/9. The first injection was very painful and my knee was sore for two days. The second injection did not hurt at all and my knee was fine immediately after. This knee pain has been going on for two years and I finally have relief. I'm just hoping it lasts longer than 6-months. I would definitely advise anybody who has this problem to at least try it. It is working for me!

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I completed the third shot in the series on Thursday before Thanksgiving. After the first and second shots I experienced about a 90% reduction in pain and did not need to take any pain medication at all. After the third shot I started experiencing more pain again and needed to start using pain medication again. I am hoping it goes back to the 90% with no pain medication.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: Just had the third shot today (12/3/09) I think I noticed a little improvement after the second shot, we will see how I feel in a few days. I am sick of my knee hurting at age 59.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I've had two of the three injections so far. After the first one last week, my knees were so noisy. They snapped, crackled, and popped when moving. I got the second ones yesterday and these felt alot more fuller and I felt unsteady walking. I have had pain relief, but have also had a few times when I felt a sharper pain when walking uphill. Not sure what that means or why yet. Maybe it's all part of my knee being more fuller with fluid and not having the healthy structures to rely on to keep it in place properly.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: Have Osteoarthritis in both shoulders. Have received 3 sets of injections over 24 months, 6 months apart with no side effects. Excellent benefit after shot, diminishing proportionally over period. Decided to stop weight lifting after last shot to see what would happen (age 67) and found the pain has not returned. It has been 8 months now and pain level is quite tolerable with NSAIDs. Will start moderate exercise program next week to determine what level will be an acceptable compromise to inactivity.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I received my first series of Orthovisc injections in November 2007. My doctor told me it would last between 9-12 months. It is now June of 2009 and I can rarely tell which knee is the "bad" one. I have returned to playing indoor volleyball for the past two years with no pain. Highly recommend this product.

Orthovisc (hyaluronan) for Osteoarthritis: I had my first injection of Orthvisc on 08 June 2009. My next scheduled dates are 15 June 09 and 22nd June 09. I have had 3 series of the Supartz and I can tell a big difference in my knee. I am out of pain as of the first injection. No side effects. I am glad to be getting only 3 injections as opposed to the five of Supartz. I have osteoarthritis in both knees and the left one is the worst. The doctor wants to do knee replacement on that one however at age 67 in Oct 2009, my medical doctor does not want me to have the surgery yet. I am very pleased today, 10 June 09 with the results and pain free from my first injection of Orthovisc. Perhaps this is the answer and Medicare will pay for the injections every six(6) months. So I am looking on the positive side.
