"If I had rated it during my first 1-3 months, it most likely would have been a 3 or 4 at best. I had weight gain, increased acne, moodiness and bloating, oh the bloating! I stuck with it and I am really happy I did. Over the last six months, I’ve dropped the weight, my skin has cleared and although I still get a little moody before my period, I think that’s pretty normal whether on bcp’s or not. I take it religiously and it is the only form of birth control I use in my committed relationship. I have had no pregnancy scares. Bonus: FREE on my insurance, which is truly a blessing because I was paying $150 a month for Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo (which was a horror story for me). If this pill gives you problems in the beginning, consider waiting them out, because for me it truly did did get better each month."

"I'm getting married and was prescribed Sprintec as a form of birth control. The side effects seem to run the gamut from "it gave me terrific mood swings!" to "I was so sick!" I seem to be fortunate in that I experienced absolutely no negative side effects. My sex drive has increased slightly, but otherwise my body tolerates it extremely well."

"I've been on Sprintec for 5 years now. Overall pretty good. No pregnancies, keeps acne at bay, periods only last ~4 days when it used to be heavy flow for 7 days without birth control (plus, can predict what time it will come; mine starts between 3-7 pm every first day of period). My breasts also went up 1.5 cup sizes. The only down side for me would be extreme mood swings (mad, sad, crying for no reason... But only towards my husband lol!) during period, breast tenderness (near and during period time), occasional nausea. After 5 months of use, I tried skipped the series of white pills and went straight into the next pack in hopes of not getting my period for that month... went terribly. Bled/ spotted for the next 30 days."

"THIS BIRTH CONTROL SAVED MY SKIN!!! I wish I could upload pictures on this site. My skin was broken out all the time on my cheeks and chin before taking Sprintec. After 4 months, my skin is almost COMPLETELY clear. It got worse in the first month, but I stuck with it, and it slowly got better over time. I am so glad I stuck with it, because my skin is the clearest it has been in years. I am 30 and have been dealing with adult acne for the last 5 years. I tried everything else, and this is the only thing that worked. If you are trying this for acne, stick with it for at least 3 months, even if it gets worse in the beginning, because it's totally worth it."

"This medication makes me sick to my stomach. I have to take this pill at night or I'll be nauseous the whole time I%u2019m at work. I went out of town one weekend and forgot my pills, so as soon as I got home I took two to catch up (in the morning) worse mistake of my life. I ended up throwing up at my desk. Besides the disgusting effect this medicine has on my stomach, it%u2019s ok. It%u2019s cheap, it definitely works, and if you can figure out the right time for you to take the medicine and always remember to take it, I don%u2019t think you'd have any problem. The nausea is bad though (to me), I actually feel sick at this moment and I know it%u2019s from the pill I had to take this morning. I actually got on here to see if it just me. I don%u2019t see as many post about getting sick from this pill but it%u2019s my worst side effect."

"I took Sprintec for 3 1/2 years consecutively and it prevented pregnancy and cleared up my acne quite a bit. My period used to be a bit unpredictable since it wasn't on a 28 day cycle. On Sprintec my period came VERY regularly, practically down to the hour every 28 days and only lasted the regular 5-6 (normal for me). I stopped taking it to get pregnant, which happened 6 weeks after I stopped taking Sprintec and I have a healthy baby girl. I breastfed for the full first year so I was on the "mini" pill. Last night was my first night back on Sprintec. I forgot to eat anything with it and woke up at 4 A.M. throwing up. 7 hours later I'm fine and it works great otherwise. Just take it right before or after eating a full meal."

"I'm on my third week of Sprintec 28 and haven't had a single negative side effect. I started using it on the first day of my period which also happened to be a Sunday (lucky me). I love it! As long as there's no side effects and nothing changes then I'm staying on this pill forever. The only thing I noticed is that there was still light bleeding even after my period ended but nothing big. No headaches, nausea, vomit, mood swings, cramps, stomach pain, breast tenderness/pain or anything! It depends on the person, you can't just judge it based on the reviews because I was scared to try it. I read so many horrible reviews but I gave it a shot and I am pain free."

"I've been on Sprintec for almost 3 years now, (I'm 19) and I love it! I've never tried anything else, but this seems to work perfect. I started taking it for acne, which it does help with, but no ones skin will ever be perfect. I still have small breakouts. I've never been pregnant, so it definitely works for it's intended purposes! I've never gained weight on Sprintec. My breasts have never been really swollen or painful from my pills like some people experience, (although I'd be alright with them growing a size) haha. I DO think they impact your sex drive though. I find it difficult to become 'naturally' ready for sex. I always have to use lubricants. Other than that, I recommend Sprintec!!"

"I’ve been on and off Sprintec for two years. Even after missing multiple pills I have still never gotten pregnant. I must say that it has doubled the size of my boobs, even my boyfriend has noticed. They are sore and full. I’ also always hungry but I haven’t ever gained any weight. Would recommend."

"Pros of this pill were that my skin cleared up completely within four months, and I didn't get pregnant! Had some nausea and mood swings in the first few months, but nothing crazy. Unfortunately, this birth control caused one more serious side effect for me called vaginal atrophy. I saw three gynos before seeing a specialist who determined that Sprintec made my estrogen drop and the vaginal tissue was atrophying. Yikes. Had lots of infections, pain, itching... super not fun and now I'm off it. If you start having these symptoms after being on it for a month or two then just stop taking it and save yourself the trouble."

"I've been on Sprintec for about 2 months, I recently noticed weight gain and really bad mood swings. I cry for no reason, so I decided to check online, turns out a lot of people taking Sprintec had similar problems, which is a relief because I thought I had depression for a bit. But my breast got bigger, that's good I guess. My period is shorter and lighter, no acne either. So overall it's okay. I just hope I stop being so emotional soon."

"I've been taking Sprintec for a month now. The first week and a half I started taking it, I had the worst mood swings (Crying profusely, suicidal thoughts, depression), but that was it really. Those feelings only lasted that long. The only times I felt nauseous was if I didn't eat a meal at all before or after taking the pill. (I believe if you eat a good sized meal right before or right after taking it, you'll be fine). My breasts feel slightly sore, and are a bit more rounded and full now (Which I'm curious to see if they get to another cup size, me being a 32A right now). I feel like this pill is effective and the side effects are mild and not too bad."

"I've been on this birth control for about 5 months. It is the first one I've ever tried and my only negative complaint was that it made me very sad. I cried about everything in the first 2 months of taking this pill. My face is a lot clearer and looks better than ever. My periods last 3-4 days which happens to be normal for me. I've never had any spotting during my active pills. I think this is a good birth control but every birth control is different for everyone. I'm happy with this one."

"In the beginning my acne immediately cleared up- I've never had clear skin in my life! My breasts are larger and I've had a little weight gain, but I'm SO emotional, and I have little to no sex drive which has its effects on my husband and me. It's cheap, and insurance covers it- I'd keep taking it if I didn't have issues with my lack of desire for sex."

"I started taking this medication to help control bleeding. It worked great for stopping that but I traded in the bleeding for serve cramping. I cramp off and on through out the day. The cramps feel like I am going through a really bad period. The pain will stop me in my tracks and I have to hold myself or bend over to help to easy the pain."

"I have been on Sprintec 28 For about 3 months now and love it! It was prescribed by my doctor to ease my menstrual cramps and it did that and so much more. I had little acne here and there now my skin is flawless. I have almost no cramps during my period which is a huge from before because I used to sit in pain for hours. My breasts are larger and The pills are cheap! Also no pregnancy so overall 10/10! The only con I can Think of is slight nausea after Taking The pill but it doesn't last very long and I Take my pill at bedtime so I'm sleep when The nausea occurs anyway. Great pill."

"I had been on Sprintec since 2016 and I never had any issues with it until recently. No nausea, my periods were lighter, less cramping, and 100% regular. No crazy mood swings like others mentioned, I actually felt my mood had greatly stabilized. But there is one VERY important and severe possible side effect of the estrogen that's in the pill, which is the reason I had to go off it. The estrogen increases risks of blood clots, and it contributed to me developing DVT in BOTH legs after a long flight. I've also had high blood pressure for over a year from the pill. I'm only 26 and otherwise very healthy, and my Dr confirmed the pill is a big reason I developed these serious medical issues. I've been off the pill for a month and my blood pressure is already back to normal, but I miss how easy my periods were while on it. Sprintec was so perfect for me before the DVT, but now I can never go back on it due to the risk. If not for that, I'd continue it until I want kids."

"This is my first birth control and I've been on it for almost two years. It has helped my acne I little bit but I'm also on acne medication. Weight gain has been maybe 5-7 pounds gained. The only thing I really don't like about this birth control is it gives you symptoms as if you were pregnant even if you are not and they come mainly one to two weeks before my period. Periods are always consistent. Other than everything bad, It's doing it's job at not allowing me to get pregnant so that's good!"

"Before I had another birth control and my hormones was through the roof and made me depressed really bad.. I switched to this brand because lower dose of hormones. So far this brand is working for me! (NO Baby yet) I been using this for about half a year if not a year already. I had missed periods, very late periods, mild mood swings (nothing major) though. Acne pretty bad which I don't like about it. My appetite decreased major.. I lost so much weight because of it. (Even if I eat regularly) I'm 21 yrs old and was 123lbs now I'm 116.5lbs exact. My sex drive increased a little bit that I noticed but pretty much the same I think. Other than that this brand works for me."

"I'm almost onto my 3rd week of this medication & so far I'm completely almost satisfied with it. It does leave tonnes of breast soreness I NEVER had before. But it did relieve my cramps and heavy bleeding, which is the reason I started taking it. No weight gain or breast growth though!"

"Fortunately, my insurance covers Sprintec! I’ve taken Sprintec for only 2 weeks. It hasn’t caused anything but some mild acne. It’s not bad at all. So far, it hasn’t changed my mood, sex drive, or anything serious. I’ll give another update after 2 months passes."

"I have been using this birth control for over a year, and it has proven to be perfect. The first 3 weeks I was taking it, I had pretty bad mood swings, but this is expected, and they quit happening around the time I started my second cycle of pills. I had irregular periods and bar cramping; both of those problems were fixed once again by the second month of pills. My flow was much lighter for a shorter amount of days (and you still have a period every month, which allows your body to still clean itself out). As a contraceptive, it is my only method of birth control and I'm not pregnant yet, so it's doing its job there. Never had acne but I break out less often. Basically this is a great pill."

"I love this pill! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to remember and keep myself on track with the one pill a day but I set an alarm on my phone and have no problems, I've experienced a lot of weight gain (need to move up bra size, went up a size in jeans & shirts) but I'm happy about that because I was at 87lb in a month of taking it, I went to 102lb. My periods are light, I've never really had cramps so I can't say anything there."
