I'd been using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about 6 years, but today I switched to a generic brand. I can only say negative about this - migraines, weight gain and tiredness. Not to mention the price. My insurance did not cover it so it cost about $50 a month. Hopefully my new pills will work out better for me.

I am 23 and took ortho tri cyclen lo (OTCL) for about 5 or 6 years. I started taking it to regulate my cycle, for lighter periods, less cramping and all the other positives the pill boasts (and got it!). I am a pretty emotional gal and this seemed to somewhat help. At worst I would say it had no effect on my mood swings but at least it did not make them worse. over the time I took the pill i gained weight and my boobs grew a cup and 1/2, but i would not blame the weight gain on the pill. OTCL even has cute little cases that you can get from the website for free which i liked and used. I would have stayed on OTCL if I was better about taking it on time and if it were not so expensive ($50 retail, $10-30 w/ insurance)

I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 4 years with NO side effects or problems whatsoever. I loved this pill. In my 5th year, however, I had MONO (my doctors think, it was never actually diagnosed) which made my liver function decrease and after months of nausea, fatigue, abdominal pain, CT scans, endoscopies, etc. found that stopping the pill made the symptoms go away. My doctor's diagnosis is that for some reason when I had mono it affected my body enough that I couldn't tolerate oral contraception anymore. I'm really upset as I loved this pill and haven't had any luck with other contraceptive methods.

I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about a year and a half. It worked pretty well in that I did not get pregnant and did not experience any harsh side effects. (On previous Birth Controls, I experienced sore and enlarged breasts, extremely decreased sex drive, and difficulty even responding to sexual anything). However, I did have more vaginal fluid than I was comfortable with and the fluid also had a different/weird odor. It helped my skin dramatically for the first couple of months, but after that it only helped some. My period was lighter and shorter on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, so that was a plus! No weight gain, no moodiness. On the whole, I'd say it was a successful birth control experience.

I have been using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 6 years now and I have always absolutely loved it! I never experienced weight gain, acne, mood swings and my period is every fourth Wednesday. I have no complaints. It is the perfect birth control for me.

The clinic I go to didn't have my usual birth control pill, so they gave me this instead, a three-month supply. I didn't get pregnant while using this medication, so it did what it was supposed to do. However, I could have done without the longer, heavier periods and the 15 lb weight gain that has taken me months to reverse (currently taking my usual birth control).

It's been the best that I've tried. My periods are relatively light and not super painful as a result of taking this. Spotting is occasional. Cravings for pastries are near constant but that may just be me. I do have some mood swings but it's not at an unbearable level and for the most part they are average low, rather than an insane depression. Some of my side effects are residual from other birth control pills. My extra 10 lbs, lowish sex drive, which this hasn't helped but hasn't made worse either.

I have been using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about 2 and a half years. Have experienced racing heart, panic attacks constant mood swings. I get upset and cry over something little, gained about 4 pounds, boobs did get bigger though and I haven't become pregnant, so that's a plus.

I have been taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for some time now and the only problem I had is during the first month of using this pill, I had "spotting". It was annoying but went away after the first month. The length of my period remained the same but I no longer have severe cramps like I did before taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. I recommend this birth control pill to all my friends and family and they too are satisfied.

I have been taking birth control pills for many years and Orth Tri-Cyclen Lo has been very tolerable with no side-effects besides one: PREGNANCY. I thought it was better than all the others I've tried since it didn't give me headaches or nausea, but I'd take headaches and nausea any day over this. I took this pill exactly as directed, at the same time every morning, never missing a single pill. I avoided foods and medication that could possible interfere with the pill's effectiveness. After a year of being on Ortho Tri-Cylcen Lo and having periods you could set your watch to, I noticed I was a day late. Unfortunately, I have become part of that very small percentage of women that becomes pregnant while taking hormonal contraception.

As far as birth control goes it works but I have had horrible headaches, monthly pains that I never had before, horrible mood swings and weight gain and very bloated. I'm switching this week after my cycle.

Worked well with keeping skin clear and keeping periods on time, but made my moods ridiculous and hard to manage.

At the age of 29 I began using Ortho Try-Cylen Lo. I was a bit emotional for the first two months and then this went away. My cramps are very light, and I only have mood swings for a few hours at the begining of that week. My periods are lighter, and on schedule. The only continuous side effect is breast tenderness. It can be really frustrating.

I took Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for a year, during which I was having intercourse very regularly. It was the only form of birth control I used, and although I did miss a few pills, my menstrual cycle was always on time, although I often lightly bled during the third week as well. It had the added benefit of clearing up all of my acne, when previously I would get zits on my chin, forehead, and back. The side effects were mild; a nauseous feeling when I first woke up, and constant vaginal dryness.
