For Birth Control "I’ve been on Lolo for about 7 months. Initially I was put off by all the bad reviews but because of my failed experience with the higher dosed birth control pills, I still gave it a go. Yes, I did break out a lot in the first month. Yes, my mood swings were out of control. No, I did not gain any weight, if anything I'm finding that this medicine is helping me keep my weight more stable. After 7 months passed, I still have no weight gain, my skin cleared up so much after the first 2 months (other than the occasional pimple when my EXTREMELY light period comes), my overall mood has been elevated. Before LoLo, I had terrible mood swings and bouts of depression and sadness. Lolo has helped me regulate my hormones all together. Ladies remember, people will often times leave a bad review over a good one. I wanted to give up on my birth control because of how bad it made me feel at first, but I’m so happy I stuck it through and found a pill I absolutely LOVE."

For Birth Control "PLEASE READ IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH!! I was on Lo Lo for a little over a year and a half. Overall I didn’t have bloating or acne or irritability which was great; however, I wouldn’t get my period for months at a time (wasn’t pregnant but definitely had a few scares when it wouldn’t come). It helped my cramping and PMS symptoms when I did get my period though which was great. BUT DO NOT BE FOOLED! I struggle with depression, anxiety and panic attacks so I never connected the dots that this BC made it worse. I didn’t realize Lo Lo was making me crippling depressed up until the last month on, I had MAJOR suicidal thoughts and immediately stopped taking it and within a couple days I didn’t have those thoughts or crippling depression. Would not recommend in the slightest if you struggle with mental health to begin with as I do. Currently taking a different birth control pill and I feel back to my normal self."

For Birth Control "READ IF YOU'RE A YOUNG WOMAN LOOKING FOR BIRTH CONTROL!! I’ve been on Lo loestrin Fe for a year now, and I really like it. I had no acne breakouts, weight gain, and no serious depression or anything. The only thing is that sometimes I will cry a lot and become a bit sensitive. I started lolo for prevent pregnancy and everything has been good so far. I have not gotten my period, or spotted once since being on this pill which is a bit strange but the doctor said it was normal. I would definitely recommend this to anyone young (I am 18) if you are looking for a pill. I know reviews can be really intimidating but you really have to try the pills for yourself and see what is best for your body!"

For Birth Control "Just want to share my positive experience using Lo Loestrin Fe. I was initially afraid to take Lo Lo, as I thought it would have the same negative effect/outcome as with other pills; however, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to be on LoLo. My mood was fantastic (important to me as other pills had always triggered my anxiety and depression), my acne completely cleared up, and my period was much lighter/less crampy (a huge deal as I have historically had very heavy and super painful periods). If I had the option to stay on this pill, I would; however, due to personal history of high blood pressure and because I am now turning 35, my gynecologist recommended that I switch to a BC w/out estrogen. I just want to share my positive experience with taking Lo Lo for anyone out there that is exploring this option for the first time. I was on LoLo for just about 5 years."

For Birth Control "I started this pill to stop ovulations and hopefully regulate my PMDD. I was really hesitant because I've had terrible experiences with birth control in the past. Yaz, specifically, put me in a flat out depression for 3 months. I've been on this BC for the last 3 months consistently, minus a week that breakthrough was causing bleeding and cramping that I stopped for 4 days to relieve. My moods are amazing, I haven't felt a single outburst in the last 3 months. My sex drive is incredibly high, and my boyfriend is grateful. I feel like I have me back, and suggested for anyone who's had problems with other birth controls."

For Birth Control "AMAZED. I cannot say enough great things about this birth control. Let me start off by saying, I used to be on tri-previfem for 3 years and it was a disaster!! I had MAJOR PMS symptoms, mood swings, crying, extreme anxiety and anger. I would lash out and get so upset for no real reason. I had the heaviest period ever!!! It lasted 7 days. I knew something was wayyyy wrong and decided to make an appointment at my OBGYN. She put me on Lo Loestrin Fe, and I was very HESITANT because switching birth controls can be a pain in the butt. I was so scared it would make me breakout or have even worse symptoms. WELL LET ME TELL YOU. I WAS DEAD WRONG. This stuff works wonders for me!!!! I have zero PMS, and a 1 day period, sometimes I don't have one at all. MY skin is so clear, I have an occasional very very small breakout but I've always had bad skin. I don't feel like I'm on birth control at all. This pill saved me!!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control since November, and so far I have had a good experience. It doesn’t make me emotional at all, and I now have a super light period (but most of the times I don’t even get it). My problem is that I feel like it’s been really hard for me to lose weight since I’ve started on it. I don’t think the birth control has made me gain weight, but I am just a couple pounds heavier than when I started in November. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue on this birth control :)"

For Birth Control "I've been on thia Lo Loestrin Fe pill for three months so far and honestly I am soooo relieved to not have any bad side effects. My mood hasn't really changed and I didn't gain weight (two of my concerns). It has cleared up my acne a little bit and I haven't had my period at all in the three months I've been on it (which is totally fine by me). I haven't even had any spotting. Honestly, this has been the best thing to happen to me! I was so nervous to go on birth control in case of negative side effects. This is my first form of birth control and I'm 24 years old. I think my boobs got a tiny bit bigger, too. I would highly recommend this pill! For those reading all the negative reviews and being nervous, keep in mind, most people who have negative experiences are more likely to leave a review than those who have positive experiences. I remember reading them and being so nervous to start it but I've had nothing but positive things :)"

For Birth Control "I am anemic and would pass out on my period from blood loss. I am quite small and am in shape so it was insane to be losing that much blood every month. I have had no side effects from Lo Lo and I am on my seventh pack right now. My skin has actually improved if anything. No appetite changes and sex drive is still good. Still get my PMS moodiness a day before my first placebo pill but I barely have a period now. I understand that everyone is different and there have been some poor experiences but I would recommend this to anyone struggling with heavy periods and anemia."

For Birth Control "First off, you're probably reading reviews because you're looking to go on this pill or you've just recently been prescribed this pill. I was just like you a few months ago and the paranoid person that I am didn't like the reviews I was seeing but I decided to go ahead and try it. I love this pill I have no side effects and if anything it made my period better it's shorter, comes right on time when the pill changes color, minor cramps, no mood swings. I have nothing negative to say about the pill at all just take it every single day at the same time. I think it's really important to know that a lot of the people who write on here, write because they have had a bad experience with a pill and wanted to warn others about it."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. This is my first ever drug review. I was on this pill for only 9 days. This pill gave me severe anxiety and intrusive thoughts that I am still dealing with almost a month after, although they’ve gotten a little better. This was the worst pill I’ve ever taken in my life. I had fatigue, heavy chest, random pains in my body, severe depression , I could not think or form a thought, anxiety and fear. And I developed scary intrusive thoughts I never had before. My libido left and I also experienced dryness I never had before. Only in 9 days! It was awful! Quit this pill and do not take it. Most of the side effects have left but I’m still having the fear and OCD and I’m scared it screwed me up permanently."

For Birth Control "Former BC pill hater here. Other brands gave me massive mood swings. On Yaz and Apri I was basically Jason Voorhees. Swore I'd never take BC again, but now in my 20s, irregular periods and recurrent ovarian cysts forced my hand. Bottom line: I LOVE this pill!! Cons: Sensitive breasts. Pros: Greatly improved mood; I feel like I'm always having a good day. NO mood swings. Minimal cramps, light periods, fuller breasts, skin is great, can't stay away from my husband, and condoms are out of here. Doesn't get better than this. If you're on the fence, or sensitive to hormones like me, this may be your good stuff. I'm glad I didn't listen to anyone else and just tried it for myself."

For Birth Control "I have a very sensitive body. I ended up in the hospital after 2 weeks of using Ortho Tri Cyclen and was very scared of going back on any birth control pill. However, I'm on my second month of using Lo Loesterin Fe and so far it's been great! The only side effects I've experienced thus far are breast tenderness, bloating of my breasts, and very little mood swings. Other than that I haven't had any other problems. Furthermore, I haven't gained any weight nor experienced any nausea. My sex drive has shot up the roof rather than decreasing. Must say, overall this pill has been great compared to other pills I've used!"

For Birth Control "If you’re like me, you went on here looking at reviews before you started LoLo (Lo Loestrin FE) and psyched yourself out from negative reviews. I knew I would have my own experience, positive or negative. Didn’t mean I couldn’t prepare for the worse. I wanted to share my positive experience. This is my first time on birth control (I’m 26 years old). I wanted to get on birth control for many reasons, but the main for horrific periods. A gyno recommended starting LoLo, a low hormone dosage. I had concerns for birth control but two months in and I can say that I’m happy with it so far! Surprisingly nothing has changed in regards to the negative effects. Like you most likely already know, LoLo will probably have you skip your period all together. For me, true. If you’re sexually active, this may give some scare. No cramps, no crazy periods. Also my skin stayed the same, maybe better? I never had crazy acne and no weight gain from this either. I hope this helped you a little bit."

For Birth Control "I wanted to get on birth control to regulate my period but please please PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS. I gained 30 pounds in a 3 month timespan because it caused my appetite to sky rocket. My appetite went back to normal after stopping it thank goodness. I had my period for 20 days straight, broke my eczema out on my face really bad, acne everywhere, constant headaches, my mood was horrid, and I felt so exhausted 24/7. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. But again, everyone’s body is different so it might work for you! But still, be weary."

For Birth Control "If you're going to take this medication, I highly recommend you monitor your moods and be honest with yourself if you feel like you're out of control. I have been on this medication for two weeks and have the most turmultous two weeks of my life. Hypersensitivity, crying spells, anger, depression, anxiety- I've been a crazy woman. It only just dawned on me that it has to be the medication. I wish I would have stopped taking it the minute the craziness started, it would have saved me a lot of tears and time!"

For Birth Control "Any one else not get their period? I’ve been on this pill for 7 months and I do not get a period. I’m a psycho I take two tests every month all negative lol. My boyfriend doesn’t ejaculate in me but it’s still scary not having a period but amazing at the same time. Wondering if anyone else didn’t get a period on this pill. For Birth Control "LADIES. If you have had a bad pill experience, I hear you. Comments on how even if you’re having side effects like bad periods, migraines, weight gain, anxiety, or depression that “you haven’t been on it long enough to tell”, need to stop. It absolutely isn’t ok to invalidate someone’s experience because they didn’t go through the 3 months of hell that is somehow a standard. If you’re having these side effects, they aren’t ok and your body is trying to clue you in. I was on birth control for 5 years, lolo for over half of that. I thought the “good luck on not having your life ruined!” mentality was ok. Then the anxiety, depression, and ER visits hit. Nearly a year of my life was gone. It landed me on Prozac temporarily. I’ve never had mental health issues before in my life. I’m 5 months off the pill and am now feeling more like myself. My message is this: listen to your body. If something isn’t right, whether it be after a week or a year, it isn’t. Trust yourself."

For Birth Control "My doctor decided to put me on this pill because I was basically having 2 periods a month taking Beyaz. I honestly knew nothing much about lo lo before taking it but my doctor told me she had high hopes giving me this pill. So far I’m halfway through my second pack and haven’t had any negative symptoms. I suffer from anxiety and depression and neither of those have gotten worse since I’ve been taking this pill. I’m also super petite and workout daily so weight gain is always a concern for me and if anything I’ve lost a couple pounds since I’ve been on this pill. I wanted to share my experience because I do see there are a lot of negative reviews and I wanted to share my positive one. The only reason I didn’t give this pill 10 stars is because I haven’t gotten my period since taking it and although I love not having one, I am sexually active so it makes me a little nervous. But all in all so far so good. I’m 26 for reference."

For Birth Control "No side effects, very light periods. On my 3rd month, and no weight gain. Had a bit of a long period the first month, but since then, it's been perfect. The only gripe I have is that because it's so new, it's crazy expensive. $45 a month even with health insurance."

For Birth Control "Into my second year on this and very pleased. The first two months adjusting were definitely a bit tough: nausea, headache, breast tenderness, bizarre acne. I stuck it out and very glad I did! After those two months, zero side effects. No period, no weight gain, nausea, cramps, or breast tenderness... Nothing! In fact, I'm 37 & I've lost 20 lbs while on it. And most importantly, it's been effective in preventing pregnancy!"

For Birth Control "I feel compelled to write this review given all of the terrifyingly bad reviews I read when I was prescribed Lo Loestrin. I was actually put on it for heavy bleeding and I was worried that I would become depressed, gain weight, and gain acne, but none of that is the case. Before taking Lo Loestrin, I had irregular, week long periods with extremely heavy bleeding (to the point where I used 4/5 super tampons a day) and horrible cramps. I have been on the pill for 2.5 months now and absolutely love it. I spotted on and off for the first 2 months, which is normal and tolerable. Other than that, my period has been really light and has not lasted more than 3/4 days. I did experience some nausea at the beginning and have perhaps been more emotional than normal. Overall, while there may be mild side effects, they are completely outweighed by how much less miserable my periods have become. Remember that most people with positive results don't review a product, so don’t let the horrific reviews sway you away from trying it."

For Birth Control "READ IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY. I started this BC because my OB boasted about it being “low hormone” and helping my anxiety even out a bit from having too much estrogen in my previous BC pill. I started it with high hopes and quickly felt my anxiety sky rocket within days. I’ve always struggled with mild anxiety and this BC spiked it to the worst it had ever been. I tried sticking it out but I made it one month on this pill and said “I’m done”. I had horrific anxiety, crying spells, I had panic attacks (which I never had), and overall felt horrible. I now have the IUD Kyleena and I wish I had gotten an IUD all along. Never again will I go on the pill. They messed my body up. Not worth it. Please be careful when deciding if BC pills are right for you. I wish this brand would be removed from the market."

For Birth Control "I just started my 2nd pack of Lo Loestrin Fe this past Sunday. I have to admit when I first starting this pill I was a little skeptic because it is such a low dose pill. I absolutely LOVE this pill so far. I do not have a ton of side effects like with other pills. Last summer I briefly was on Ortho Tri-cyclen and it made me gain 10 pounds in one week! On this pill I do not have any weight gain and no crazy mood swings and my period was super light this month. I did have some spotting throughout the first pack though. I work at a gynecology office so I am well aware that the first 3 months of any new birth control can have potentially weird side effects such as abnormal bleeding, mood swings, etc. Thumbs up from me. Will update soon. "

For Birth Control "I love this pill so much. I’ve never had such a good experience with birth control before. My side effect symptoms have been so small that I barely notice them, very little to no bleeding/spotting through the 2 months I’ve been on it, even in the starting weeks which was always a huge problem for me on other forms of bc. My skin has cleared up, my libido has increased, no weight gain, no mood swings, no depression.. only negative I’ve noticed so far is my energy levels are sometimes pretty low. It’s important to remember when reading reviews that every woman’s body responds differently to bc so don’t get scared from the bad reviews! You could be lucky and finally find the one that works perfectly for your body!"
