For Birth Control "I have been taking junel 1.5 for about a year and a half. I didn't gain weight, have mood swings, breakthrough bleeding, low sex drive, but I did notice around my period time I would have 1 or 2 cyst like pimples pop up that took roughly 2 weeks to heal and sometimes left a scar which I'm not prone to acne and have a good skin regime. So I am switching to sronyx (generic of aviane) due to that. Otherwise this was good birth control for me. Didn't get pregnant and had regular periods usually 4 days long and light."

For Birth Control "Been on Junel now for 4 years. I've never been pregnant, no weight gain, less mood swings than other bc pills. Less sex drive & less self lubrication. Over the last 2 yrs, I’ve noticed my hair (which used to be thick, dark, and coarse) changed color & texture to more fine, less curly, and lighter. Many hairs are falling out after only growing 2-6 inches long, and overall I’m shedding more hair than I used to. After doing research, experts say this type of birth control can increase hormonal hair loss. I talked to my doctor and she didn’t think that’s what is causing my hair loss. I still have a full head of hair & only I notice the difference, but will continue to monitor the situation to see if the thinning becomes more noticeable. Will continue to take Junel..."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for a little over a year and I have had a wonderful experience with it. I did not gain any weight, and didn't have any side effects. The only downside that I am experiencing currently is that I've been getting my period recently during the second week of the pill pack so my gyno recently switched me to a different brand. Everyone reacts differently to medication but I highly recommend this pill :)"

For Birth Control "Hello, I am currently 19 years old and have been on the Junel Fe 1.5/30 pill for 6 years (yes sounds crazy). Awful long periods have run in my family for generations. I would have my period every month for about 12 days and very, very heavy. I bled through a maxi pad, panty pad, underwear, undershorts, AND regular shorts after one hour. Once I started the pill my periods immediately lightened. Since I was put on it when I was younger I did not know about side effects and I believe that’s why I don’t have any. The only thing that happens to me is that my stomach feels a little weak the morning after I take a new pill of the month, but this happens because of all the hormones re entering your body after a week with sugar pills."

For Birth Control "My obgyn switched me to Junel 1.5/30 after taking Sprintec for 4 months. The Sprintec was fine, except I noticed breakouts. I now realize that the breakouts were due to a skincare product, and that switching to Junel is the worst thing that's happened to me. I have constant mood swings, I cry all the time for no reason, I have a CONSTANT throbbing headache, I have no sex drive whatsoever, my appetite has changed, and somehow my breasts got smaller.. I stopped taking it and I'm switching back to Sprintec as soon as I can. Horrible, horrible birth control."

For Birth Control "I did not get pregnant while taking Junel Fe 1.5, so technically it worked. However, that could have been because it knocked my libido down quite a bit so I was basically abstinent. I also gained weight, had problems with my skin and found myself suffering from drastic mood swings and anxiety. I was nauseous daily, despite taking the pill with food, at night or at precisely the same time every day. As someone who infrequently suffers migraines, this pill made them a thousand times worse. Blinding headaches. I've been off it for a year and a few months at this point, and have seen a huge reduction in migraines and problems with my libido since. Pro: While I was on this, it made my periods really light or nonexistent."

For Birth Control "This pill is terrible. I started taking it because the pharmacy ran out of my normal pill which was Microgestin (which I LOVED). I have never had a problem with acne and I woke up yesterday with 3 pimples on my chin and some on my back. I also have terrible back pain. So bad to where I can not stand or walk and it even hurts when I lay down or sit. Do not take this pill."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "If I could I would give this pill a 0. My period continued to come a week early and heavy, cramping became worse than it has been, I gained 5 lbs, my acne got a lot worse, my lips got incredibly cracked, and my hypersensitivity worsened greatly. Definitely getting off of this pill as soon as possible"

For Birth Control "I will say this, it wasn't as non-problematic as Trinessa was (which is discontinued) BUT it is definitely not as horrible as Tri-sprintec was (which gave me extremely vaginal dryness and moodiness). I'm a petite 22 year old and it's been 4 months now. It helped reduce my vaginal dryness close to normal but I did notice that my moodiness is still there. Also, I am not sure if this issue is at fault to the birth control or my boyfriend but I get extreme pelvic pain after rough intercourse which never really happened before (I'm going to consult with my doctor on that note). As far as my period, it is very light (2-3 days) but I've always had light periods. It doesn't help my cramping as much as Trinessa did which I can live with (before BC my cramps would be so bad that I had to throw up or couldn't move and would call of work kind of BAD). I did notice that I am gradually getting shoulder acne again but I have remedies for it. Anyhow, overall my experience was OKAY."

For Birth Control "I started this pill about 2 & 1/2 years ago, I am realizing now that I gained 25 pounds in that time. My mood swings are awful... really good highs and really bad lows. I never had a big appetite but now eat everything even when I am not hungry. Junel fe was prescribed to me for my really awful cramps, my slight acne, and my heavy flow. It made my acne a lot worse but helped with the cramps and heavy flow for a while. I am also anemic so the iron was supposed to help me feel less faint and weak but did not really work. It was a lot more effective in the first year, but once being on it for too long I think my body just got used to it and I began to see all the problems I had in the beginning."

For Birth Control "I have been on Chateal (bad), Levora (good for one year), Nexplanon (awesome, but bad vaginal dryness), Aubra (worst nausea of my life), Apri (The BEST! Lost all sex drive and my boobs though lol), and Junel Fe 1.5/30 for 3 months. Junel was my worst experience. I am a very stable person and literally thought I was on the brink of a psychotic episode. Now I’m going to try NuvaRing."

For Birth Control "I took Junel Fe 1.5/30 for birth control. I had no side effects when I first started. My skin was clear, my period was regular and no mood swings. I was switched from Lo Loestrin because of insurance changes and could tell the pill was different although it’s the generic. I gained a few pounds after 2 months but I was eating poorly so I’m not sure this has anything to do with. After 6 months I lost a lot of weight so I’m not sure the pill was the problem but I started to experience a lot of dryness during sex. I still had a sex drive but definitely decreased. Overall the pill did its job and I had a few times that I forgot to take it and still no scares."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me from Microgestin to Junel Fe after they stopped carrying Microgestin. I've been on this birth control for almost 3 months and it has been the worst time. After I started taking this I noticed that my skin started to break out, which never happens to me, I am 22 and have NEVER had skin problems aside from a stray pimple here and there. Since beginning this my skin has been all over the place and I can't get it under control. I've been bloated and gained weight since taking this. I have been on several other BC pills prior to this and the Microgestin and I've never had such an awful time. Microgestin was perfect and gave me no side effects at all and Junel Fe has been ruining my life for the past 3 months. When I talked to my pharmacist about needing to switch from this she said since they have stopped carrying Microgestin and using Junel Fe a ton of people have been having the same issues."

For Birth Control "I'm not exaggerating when I say this pill has ruined my life. I was switched from Microgestin because I was experiencing break through bleeding. I have been on Junel for about a year now, and a few months after starting, I became very ill. My digestive system is a wreck, I'm constantly fatigued, and I developed orthostatic hypotension. I also have not had my period in literal months. I'm seeing my Dr. soon, to be taken off this evil pill. The only good thing I can say about it is that I'm definitely not pregnant!"

"I have been taking Junel 1.5 for 2 years. I am 49 and had never been on birth control before. My gyne put me on this because I’m going through perimenapause and she said this would control some of the severe symptoms I was having. I gave this a “2” because it did lessen the heavy bleeding I was having, but it worsened the headaches, night sweats, and the big kicker - now I mysteriously have high blood pressure. Two doctors and a pharmacist said they believe it is from Junel 1.5 so I am stopping it. I am in excellent health and eat ultra clean. Make sure you get your blood pressure checked regularly if you take this."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My pharmacy ended up switching my birth control and gave me this one. First of all I bled out for over a month on this birth control...not for me. I don't like getting my period a lot. I had severe cramps and was always tired. I don't recommend this birth control to any one. Causes very abnormal bleeding."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this since June 2020 and it's the first form of birth control I've tried. No complaints whatsoever! My acne has cleared up, periods are extremely light and I only have one every 3 months, and no change in my sex drive or mood. I was worried that I would gain weight, but the only weight I've gained is due to stress/diet changes. No vaginal dryness either."

For Birth Control "I haven't been on this birth control pill long. I started taking the pill after my doctor said it will help with my PCOS. I missed one day and the next day, I was extremely emotional like I was having a mental breakdown! I'm an emotional person anyway but it's normally when something happens and I've never had a breakdown out of nowhere. I've had all the memories I suppressed when I was younger come back at full force. I'm very depressed and feel very lonely. I'm nauseous and can't eat. I'm having cramps out of this world. It feels like I'm going to get my period soon and I'm just finishing week 1. I'm going to stop the birth control and see if I somewhat go back to normal."

For Birth Control "I've been on the Junel Fe 1.5/30 28 day, for 6 months and I've gained about 17 pounds while on this, no anxiety/depression but my sex drive did decrease significantly to the point where it concerned me. Getting off of this right away!"

For Birth Control "The first 2 weeks I had really bad nausea and TERRIBLE mood swings where I was especially depressed and anxious. I still am feeling pretty depressed and anxious almost everyday while taking this pill but the nausea has subsided. I didn’t really notice a change in my weight but my appetite definitely decreased. I have noticed that my hair is definitely thinner and after reading the reviews again I’m realizing that this definitely could be because of the birth control. I still get my period but it is very light. I still am continuing to get cramps and nausea and my regular PMS symptoms the week where I do not take the pill and get my period and so I am planning to switch pills since it’s not helping me in this department. Overall this pill prevented pregnancy and I didn’t have any major symptoms except for mood swings but it just didn’t really do anything for me in terms of helping my PMS symptoms."

For Birth Control "I've been on this BC for about 6 mo. It's done it's job as for not allowing pregnancy, so I give it a 4. But for the first 2 weeks I was on it I was so sick- waking up at night drenched in sweat, lower back pain, cramps, no appetite, my face broke out, you name it... Now I only have cramps off and on, bloated, my period is lighter but I have been depressed for at least 2 moonth my appetite goes from nothing at all to wanting to eat everything. I have NEVER cried this much in my entire life. Also I will get headaches for a week to 2 weeks straight which has never happened to me. Everyone's body is different, this pill might do great things for you but it has not worked well with my body."

For Birth Control "I've been on birth control for 6 years, never had problems. I switched to this pill because my Dr thought a higher dosage would help with mood swings. It did that, but I also developed horrible acne on my face & back. I gained 6 lbs (in 2 months) despite increased diet & exercise. I also started growing facial hair. This definitely was NOT right for me!"

For Birth Control "Update from my post on July 26,2020. I am now 7 months in with the Junel Fe 1.5/30 pill. Haven’t experienced any bad symptoms yet other than the first few weeks on the pill sometimes I would wake up feeling very nauseous. Other than that haven’t had anything negative other than this pill makes my periods really irregular so I never know when it is starting. Because of that I’ve missed my period 2 times and freaked out and took pregnancy test that both came out negative. Right now I’m 2 weeks late but I’m not worried because ever since I’ve been on the pill it’s always been late. So far this pill hasn’t changed my mood, hasn’t made me depressed, I’ve gained a little weight but that might just be quarantine wait since I don’t walk a lot everyday. My sexual drive decreased a lil but I have a high sexual drive so it just turned it normal lol, and no bad acne. Like I said before each pill is different for everyone :)"

For Birth Control "I took Junel Fe 1.5/30 for three months before I switched to a new birthcontrol . It did effectively prevent pregnancy and gave me a regular period. The first couple of weeks consisted of terrible nausea and extremely tender breasts. The nausea did subside after the first month or so. My breasts have been tender the entire three months and have grown very much. Although I did not gain weight, I did have really bad mood swings, non-existent sex drive and DEPRESSION! I didn't notice until the end of the 2nd month going into the third one, but I was constantly unhappy and my mood could switch at the drop of a dime. Before taking this pill, my sex drive with my boyfriend was extremely high, but after I began taking it, we've gone nearly 2 months without even touching each other because of me (feel so bad). The pills affect everyone differently so it really is trial and error."
