Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: When I first was put on Generess Fe, I had no side effects until the second week. It was like everything hit me at once. I can't stop eating, my face never breaks out and as of now it's acne central, I've been throwing up and I can't even go to work without getting immediately annoyed.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I have been taking this pill for 5 months to even out my hormones. It took my body only one week to adjust to the pill, which I don't think is bad. My period lasts from 2 to 3 days, very very light, no cramps. I do get hungrier before the cycle, otherwise I try to watch what I eat. To all the ladies, everyone's body will react differently to the pill. The main point is that you have to find the pill which will not affect you in any way. Generess Fe is not a bad pill, it's just for some people it works, for some it doesn't. I honestly don't have any problems with the pill, I feel great. Before the pill, I was depressed, stressed. This helped me get rid of stress, anxiety and depression.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: My Dr put me on Generess Fe after I had tried Loestrin 24 and Lo-Ovral. I was impressed that a lower dose pill worked for me. The first 5 or 6 months I experienced some spotting mid month, but it wasn't unbearable and eventually subsided. My periods became very regular and light. They still last a full week, but are light enough that it doesn't hinder me. I experience very little cramping and mood change. I feel hungry alot and my libido could be better. However, after having a miserable experience with Nuvaring, I am calling my doctor and going back on Generess Fe. By far, this has been my favorite birth control pill.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I started taking Generess Fe 5 weeks ago. I bled for the entire first month. It just didn't stop. Then I developed a stronger sensitivity to dairy products than I ever had before. The past 3 days have been unbearable. I haven't been able to keep anything down, I started sweating and nearly fainted a few times. I've also thrown up 5 or more times. My mood swings have been really bad also. I have no idea if this does even help prevent pregnancy, as I needed a back up method for the first month. I'm stopping this and making an appointment to see my doctor. There's no way I can live with constant gas pains and nausea and throwing up.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: Periods became lighter within the first month, which was great because mine were very painful before. The one problem was the first time I took it. I felt far more depressed than ever before. But this was only temporary; it took about one week to adjust psychologically. Be sure to take with a good sized meal! Other than that, very slight weight gain and no spotting. Always take the brown pills too; they contain the mineral iron which women need a lot of.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I've been taking Generess Fe for a few months now and I haven't had any side effects! It's been working pretty good because my periods are lighter than before and last about 3 days. The only thing I've noticed is that I have cramps now before my period which I didn't have before. After hearing all these scary comments about Generess I was scared to even give it a try, but I'm glad I did because it's been working! Also, If you don't have insurance this medicine is pretty expensive so I'd check into that if not.
Review by Lovemynewhubbs (taken for less than 1 month):
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: Seriously, is this pill a joke? Screw Generess FE. I'm about to enter my 4th week and I've never been more miserable in my life. Let me start by saying that no pill just magically makes you gain weight, it's the increase in appetite that makes you gain weight. I'm freaking starving ALL the time no matter how full I am. I'm EXTREMELY tired. I have done nothing all week except go to work, eat, and sleep. I'm a totally different person. My boobs hurt, and I had a huge fight with my new husband. Would rather have sex never again then feel like this any longer.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I usually have irregular periods. I missed 2 months so my doctor prescribed Generess Fe. It's cool that it's chewable but taking this drug was not a pleasant experience.
For one, my mood swings were incredibly out of whack. I was so depressed and angry and irritable. I couldn't stand something like this having so much control over my emotions. I had serious bloating and my breasts were super swollen and I am already very busty so this was not very comfortable. I had painful migraines. The worst part about it was the CRAZY LONG PERIODS! I've only completed 1 pack and I got my period last month but it's still going on, 15 days now!! It's not really heavy but it's more than just spotting. I stopped taking it
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone): Im 22 yrs old and its my second week on the pill. The first week was a breeze, but now on my second week ive been hating myself. I have extreme cravings mixed with acute emotional sensibility. Yesterday I got home and someone had eaten my steak and I flipped. I was having really bad cravings for steak (not just any meat) and I ended up crying over it. If I wasn't o the pill I would have guest I was pregnant. Later, I was talking with a friend and got upset over a comment. All things I wouldn't care but with the pill I apparently take to the heart.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I started Generess Fe 3 weeks ago, and at first I was extremely wary; I had reviews about unstoppable weight gain, terrible mood swings, breakthrough bleeding, acne worsening, and headaches, so I was on the edge. The first 3 days my face broke out the worst it had since middle school, and I was so upset about it because I had spent so much time and money to good skin, but after about a week and a half or two, my face has completely cleared up, since then I actually have less small acne then when I wasn't on BC. The only side effects I have experienced so far (knock on wood) is I am a bit more touchy on certain days or even random days, and I have a good bit more of the munchies or cravings, but otherwise no weight gain or crazy moods. :)
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: Was put on Generess Fe to regulate spotting I have had for 3 months(PCOS). Have been on it a month and it has been a horrible experience. I was surprised to see all the great reviews since I am having such trouble. I am a usually very happy person and have been extremely depressed, emotional(crying outbursts at ridiculous things), and irritable. Ive had headaches daily since Day 1. Spotting has gotten worse. Breasts are so tender and painful and horrible low back cramps during the 3rd week. Praying this is just because Ive been so long without a cycle(8 years and 1 month) and its just shocking my body. Doctor says it could take 3-4 months to regulate. Not sure I can handle that but willing to try.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I have had the most positive experience with Generess Fe. I have been taking it for over 2 years and couldn't be happier. I simply feel like myself and have not had any issues adjusting to it. My body did not react in a negative way and I have not had any problems with weight gain. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you're curious about it. Also, their savings card really does work and I never pay over $25/mo for my prescription even though my insurance does not cover it at this time.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I'm 20 years old and this is the first birth control I've ever been on. I'm in my 3rd pack and so far I haven't had any serious side effects. When I first started my appetite was out of whack and couldn't really eat and I was really moody. But halfway through the first pack that subsided and I was fine. I never had a real problem with having a heavy/irregular period but when first going on this I got my period twice a month for the first 2 months but they are very light, short, and manageable. Not sure if I gained any weight because I don't weigh myself often and I don't think I've seen a real change in my body. I just changed my diet and exercise regiment (as in I'm actually exercising and eating better) so hopefully I'll see results!
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I have been on generess fe for over a year. I do not ovulate as much as "normal" women so I was only having a period maybe once every 6 months. I know that may sound fantastic, but I got a horrible yeast infection that would not go away no matter what I tried (prescription and non prescription). However after starting generess fe, it cleared up within the first week! As a lot of other have said I do experience some nausea right before I'm about to start my period and my breasts have always been rather tender. But I do love only having a light, light period for a maximum of 4 days! I never experience spitting and overall I love generess fe!
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I got a 3 months of a free sample. But, I only used 1 month. The first week was great. Then I started the second week and started spotting. I spotted every day till about the end of the pack. My moods were terrible. By the third week I was arguing with my boyfriend which felt like constantly. He told me it was like I was on my period mood wise that whole month. I'm not taking it anymore.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: This is the first birth control I've tried, have taken it for a month and a half. First 2-3 days I had terrible headaches, which went away but came back during the placebo pills. I have a history of migraines, but only with light/noise sensitivity, no aura. Took Maxalt for the headaches, helped. Bust got slightly bigger, gained a little weight but I was very stressed out and ate trash, so not necessarily the medication. My skin was about the same, broke out slightly but I wasn't sleeping or eating vegetables. Extremely moody/meltdowns during the placebo days, but I think that is my personal reaction to the hormones, I had a similar experience before where the body chemicals made my emotions crash. No nausea, no vomiting, etc. During the placebo days, I did not get my period/breakthrough bleeding, but now that I am stopping the medication [for unrelated reasons] I suddenly have a tiny bit of spotting.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I started taking the chewable tablets in mid march when my period was lasting an extremely long time and was extremely heavy. Yes, I got my period at age 14 which is to be considered late, in December, and got it at the end of February randomly and it lasted almost two months EXTREMELY heavily to the point where I was missing classes and my bed sheets were soaked. Once I started these pills, I felt great. My periods were extremely light, my breasts were huge, and life was great. But then, weight gain occurred and I gained almost 15 pounds in a month. Coming from someone who used to be able to gain nothing after eating everything, this was awful. I tried exercising, and nothing worked.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about 2.5 years and never realized that that was what was giving me the craziest mood swings. I went on Loestrin 24 Fe. At first I was happy with it, then came the almost complete loss of sex drive. I also became very moody & snappy for no reason at all. My doctor called and said they were discontinuing my Loestrin and putting me on a "chewable" pill. I was not happy about that at first. The pill tastes like a little mint, which I actually really like now. On top of that, I am in such a great mood, even when I probably shouldn't be. No mood swings, and gained my sex drive is back 100%! My breasts seems a tad fuller, but nothing crazy. Also, no weight gain. I love it!
Review by TallyGirl (taken for 6 months to 1 year):
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I've tried several different birth control brands since I was 18 (I'm 25 now; taking it to prevent pregnancy) and Generess has been my favorite! I use to suffer from migraines, horrible acne, and cysts in my breasts because most estrogen/hormone levels were too high in other pills, but Generess is so low that it has solved all those issues. I noticed a little nausea at first. I've been on the pill for 6 months or so. I did notice a small weight gain - 5 lbs is all. I'm writing this because for the first time since I've been using Generess, I BARELY had a period this past month and it kind of scared me. But now reading about the pill and other womens experiences I'm realizing that this pill can make your periods almost non-existent. Phew.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I switched from Microgestin to Generess Fe last month. I no longer have extreme mood swings, no more painful cramps, and I can't believe it! The only side effect for me is weight gain, which is actually a good thing for me because I'm very active.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I started Generess Fe October 30th, 2012. For the first 4-5 months I had irregular spotting, sometimes that went on for 6-7 days! I gained 14 pounds in 5 months with no diet change. The good thing about it is that since April I have not bled..at all. Not one drop. I no longer experience PMS or periods so that is really nice. I am thinking about coming off to see if I lose the weight I gained and if I do I want a different pill. I use this pill to prevent pregnancy, no other conditions.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I feel like a 12-yr old while on this pill. I'm hungry and irritable and I've bled through for 2 months now. The bleeding hits me exactly half way through the pill cycle and on a Wednesday. I'm tired of having 2 periods a month and al the symptoms that come with it. I'm calling my OB on Monday to switch.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I have a very bad case of endometriosis, which causes very severe pain during my period. After trying a few different birth control pills which my doctor said may lessen the pain, to no avail, I eventually had surgery. Still, the pain persisted. After that I finally got my hands on this little green miracle, and somehow (in a way I personally do not understand) the pill has stopped my periods completely. I simply do not have them, ever, not even spotting, and I am only 20 years old. With no periods, no pain. If I stop taking them the periods and pain resume. I love this pill, its a blessing for sure.
Review by Horrible side effects (taken for 1 to 2 years):
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I was on this for a year and experienced weight gain, loss of sex drive, depression, thinning hair, and my hormone levels dropped (estrogen, testosterone, cortisol). For me it isn't worth all of the horrible side effects experienced.
Generess Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) for Birth Control: I have been on this pill for about 2 months now. My first period on the pill came exactly when It was supposed to come and was normal. This last period was really light and only three days. I've had weight loss but I'm not sure it was the pill since everyone is reporting the opposite. I did feel super nauseated and sad every few days, but its normal. And my breasts have grown! But they feel tender. I have been taking the pill for severe back pain and with the pill, that disappeared.
