"I have had no bad experiences with Larissia so far and I've been taking it for two years. First off, it cleared up my acne tremendously and my skin has been so much better. My periods are so light now and only last around 3-4 days. The cramps I get are either nonexistent or not bad at all. I have not gotten pregnant either and I have had sex without a condom numerous times and this pill saved me from getting pregnant. I have gained quite a bit of weight in the past two years but I never thought it was related to Larissia. I am a college student and even though I exercise frequently, I assumed the weight gain was simply the freshmen 15. I am still in good shape and am healthy, but my muscle mass and fat mass are definitely higher than before. I don't know if this is related to Larissia at all but even if it is, it is the only negative side effect I've had with the drug. I would recommend it."

"Omgoodness! Worst birth control ever taken. I was taking Orsthyia for the past 3 years and CVS switched me to Larissa. I've had heart palpitations, anxiety, and my stomach constantly stays tore up. I've had the worst stomach indigestion of my life. Every time I eat I feel nauseous. My body also feels like I'm constantly swelled. I DO NOT recommend this birth control for anybody!"

"This is the absolute worst birth control I ever took. Weight gain to the max. And not to mention I have been having the most insane night terrors religiously. My eyes are sensitive to lights. I feel tired always and so depressed. My doctor switched me to this one because they called in the wrong pill and told me it was fine to take for a month. I truly do not feel like myself at all. I am stopping it immediately. DO NOT TAKE EVER!"

"I was on Nexplanon for about 6 years before switching to Larissia. I have been on Larissia going on 3 months and feel like my appetite is uncontrollable and I’ve gained about 20 pounds. I also have noticed I cry much easier now and I get heavier cramps and back pain. I got off of the nexplanon for irregular spotting but I’ll take that any day over this BC. I understand everyone is different but I’ve never gained weight as easily as I have this past 3 months."

"My pharmacy switched me from Orsythia to Larissa. I was on Orsythia for 2 years with no side effects. After switching I noticed I gained weight, had constant fatigue and mood swings. I didn’t think to blame the pill at first but it all makes sense now. These side effects only happened after I switched to Larissa. I’m hoping to switch to another brand."

"I switched from Microgestin FE to Larrisia. Microgestin FE gave me terrible anxiety and depression and made me feel like I was an alien in my own body. Switching to Larissia I definitely had some cramping, breakthrough bleeding, mood swings and acne, during my first 2-3 packs of this pill but after a couple months all of those symptoms went away. My first pack I could tell that my boobs were bigger but that went away as well over time. I haven’t gained any weight on this pill (I was actually hoping that I would) and have less acne than I did while on other pills. I would recommend this to a friend."

"This is the first type of birth control I’ve ever been on and NOT a good experience! I am currently on the placebo pills so the last week of the first pack. (1 month total of medication) I already struggle with acne, so when I first started taking this pill it got worse! I have acne all over my chin, lower cheeks and forehead! My acne is the worst it’s ever been. On top of that I started my period today, it’s already heavier than normal and I had to call off work today because as soon as I got up I immediately felt nauseous and faint. I started seeing black and yellow spots and heard ringing in my ears. I have a piercing headache. Again do NOT recommend! I am calling my doctor this week and getting off of this pill!"

"Since there aren't many reviews for this brand and most of them aren't that great, I thought I'd share my experience since the reviews here scared me a little. I went on BC for the first time and started out with Sprintec, which was AWFUL. I had horrible mood swings, nausea, and it was making me depressed. I immediately switched, and the first week on Larissia I was still feeling this way but that's probably just the Sprintec wearing off. Now, I feel great, no mood swings, and it's even making me grow in 'all the right places'. So pleased with this pill!"

"Larissia was my first experience with birth control. While taking it I experienced extremely bad heartburn. I previously had acid reflux but hadn’t experienced any symptoms and wasn’t on medications for the past three years until I started taking Larissia. I asked my pharmacy to switch to a different brand Vienva and stopped experiencing the heartburn as soon I started the new brand. Beware, if you do or previously suffered from acid reflux, this medication may make it worse. Also experienced a 2 week long period while taking Larissia but this may be just part of the adjustment process."

"When starting Larissa, I was a bit apprehensive about how it would work for me do to what I had heard from other people’s experiences. But after being on it for a month, I have found it works great for me. The only side effect I have experienced are periodic loss of appetite and at the beginning, mood swings. I have not gained any weight or had a drastic increase in acne, if anything it has cleared up my skin. I am very happy with my experience and am glad I am lucky enough for it to work as well as it does on the first try."

"The first month on Lariisia it was good my skin cleared up. I weighed like 116 pounds and of course I wanted to gain weight. This made me 140 pounds in 3 months and I worked out and ate a lot so it gave me a big butt little stomach. But it made me really nauseous and sad all the time and I did end up getting pregnant but I had a huge blood clot miscarriage a few months after. I wouldn't recommend if you don't want to always be nauseous, sad and pregnant"

"The first week I started on Larissa it was an unexpected change. I went to get a refill and they said this was the same just with a different name and package. They were wrong. The first week I forgot to take a pill one night so, as directed, I took it as soon as I remembered which happened to be around 9 am. I took my next pill for the night around 11pm and got extremely ill. I spent the whole night and next day throwing up and feeling just awful. I also had almost every side effect listed. I thought my body just needed to adjust so I waited it out. Most of the symptoms went away by the second month EXCEPT the nausea and other stomach issues. I haven’t been able to sleep or eat because my stomach is constantly upset. Every day the cycle of nausea starts again. The only upside is that my last period was pain free and I got a whole week of not feeling any side effects. I really don’t know if I can last for another whole month."

"The worst birth control pill ever. Was on IUD before and decided to switch because I felt it was better for me in the long run. Been on it for 2 months and noticed that switching was the worse decision I have ever made. The IUD worked great for me. No side effects and no weight gain. When I switched to Larissia I gained 10lbs in 2 months and I can’t seem to get the weight off. The less I eat the more I gain and I was never like that. My anxiety level has been out of control as well. I’m always fatigued and groggy. Though it was all in my head but after I saw all the reviews I’m definitely stopping it"

"At 44 years old, I've never had an adverse response to BC. I was switched to Larissia for decreased hormones. 1 Week in I was unable to sleep at night. Felt anxious in the evenings... which is extremely unusual. 3rd week in I developed a strange rash below and had extremely upset GI system, diarrhea included. Could not understand what was going on. Referred to symptoms pamphlet & began to connect dots. 1st day on 2nd pack was yesterday. The upset belly became so unbearable and itchiness below has made me call in to work today (as well as diarrhea). I just feel all 'off'. Luckily husband has a vasectomy. I will not be taking BC for this month. I will request my old brand. Perimenopausal symptoms had me back on BC... but I would rather have those symptoms vs side effects from Larissia. I don't want to even try to give it longer. When I was younger, I may have tried one more month, but I've tried a variety in my life to know, this one just doesn't feel right for me."

"This is my first birth control I have ever taken, the first month I took it, everything seemed fine but then my period was almost 3 weeks long and felt never ending, but I’m pretty sure that was break through bleeding. I was more excited about the weight gain because I have been a pretty skinny person my whole life, the first month I gained a few pounds but now the 3rd month I have no appetite and I’m dropping weight like crazy. Not to mention before taking this I have always been a laid back, chill person and this BC makes me have terrible mood swings, I almost feel like a completely different person in my own body, and not in a good way. It almost makes me think I’m going crazy. Lastly, ever since I started it I noticed my periods come 3-4 days late and I’ve never had that problem in the past. I wouldn’t recommend this birth control if you don’t want to lose yourself, but it protects against pregnancy great."

"I have been taking this for a month I have headaches everyday for the past week. I got a little bit of acne and I don't know if it's just me or not but I don't ever want to get out of bed in the mornings. I called out of work even because I just couldn't and didn't feel like it. I've also had breast pain since week one."

"I was prescribed Larissa to help with irregular periods. The first week of taking this drug I had zero symptoms and assumed everything was fine. A week after taking it, I suddenly starting having horrible anxiety attacks, would cry for no reason and had extreme fatigue and dizziness. This was all in the course of one day. It got so bad that I had to go to the ER and make sure I wasn’t having an allergic reaction... needless to say I will NEVER take this again and wish I would have read these reviews prior to taking it."

"The pros: Larissia cleared up my acne, and I had no breakthrough bleeding or even periods (other than once in awhile a very light one-day period). The cons: I gained seven pounds, and developed anxiety so severe that I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. Since quitting Larissia altogether, I feel totally like myself again. I had never struggled with anxiety or depression previously and within a week or so of stopping it I feel totally normal again and no crippling anxiety, so it’s hard not to come to the conclusion it was caused by Larissia. I previously took Orsythia with no problems whatsoever! And was switched to Larissia due to pharmacy availability."

"I’ve been on Larissa for a month now. In the beginning I didn’t mind it, till the end of the month. I just don’t feel like myself anymore, nothing really makes me happy and I’m in a new relationship and finally with someone who does make me happy and I just find myself in a slump. IDK why... also not helping my anxiety at all. I feel like it’s making it worse. I feel like I can’t do anything. And this past week I been feeling very sick and just out of it. So nauseous every morning.. definitely thinking about switching"

"Do not take this! It has literally been the worst 2 months ever. The first month I was EXTREMELY nauseous the whole time. In these two months I’ve had lots of heartburn, been extremely emotional, I used to only need 7-8 hours sleep and now I need like 10, I randomly get super anxious and really sad. I have a great life so idk why I’m becoming so sad. It has mainly made me feel like a chicken with my head cut off who is drowning. WORST PART: All these issues have been causing me to be ungrateful and selfish and it’s tearing apart my relationship with my bestfriend, aka my fiancé! I know it’s got to be partly me but dang this stuff just switched me 180 degrees. My fiancé says I’m a stranger to him."

"At 41 yo, I recently asked my Dr to go back on a low dose BC despite having had my tubes tied after my last child’s birth. I was suffering from heavy bleeding and cycles ranging from 22 to 32 days and just wanted some predictability. I took Larissa for two packs back-to-back starting off... no real side effects to start, but by week 2, some pimples. They eventually cleared up, but by then the crazy bloating/ constipation/ weight gain had kicked in. My face was puffy, and I didn’t fit in a single pair of jeans despite continuing my usual workout routine and not changing my (healthy-normal) diet. I ended up gaining 12 pounds over 6 weeks, which is a lot of weight for my petite frame! After the 2nd pack, I had a period which was light, but still not worth starting another pack."

"Prior to Larissa I experienced incredibly painful, heavy and irregular periods. I wasn't able to eat, as my cramps were so bad I'd throw up everything I ate. I'd bleed through a super tampon and a heavy pad within 2 hours. For the first few my periods were still somewhat irregular and heavy--this is typical though, birth control doesn't magically fix all your problems from day 1, it takes a couple months to regulate. Now though, my periods are light, I can predict when they come, and when I do have cramps some acetaminophen or ibuprofen usually takes care of it. I have not gotten pregnant on Larissa, without the supplementation of any other forms of contraceptive, though I am very religious in properly taking the pill."
