"I started this 2 weeks ago when my period started. At first the cramps were crazy and random. The bleeding was heavy for the first 3 days but i was used to that with my normal period. After that everything is fine. I havent had any of the side effects everyone is talking about. The only thing i experience is hot flashes in the middle of the night. But those are better then having mood swings and everything else. I got the med to regulate my heavy periods and hormones and so far so good. i will let you know how next month goes"

"I woke up last night at 1am to serious cramps and a heavy flow after taking Chateal for three months. The cramps slowly got worse keeping me up until 4 am when they felt like contractions. At this point I woke my boyfriend up and asked him to take me to the hospital. On our way I started gushing bright red blood and many many blood clots came along with that. As soon as I got into the ER I had lost so much blood that they thought I was miscarrying so they didn't make me wait. I was passing out, bleeding out, getting hot, and throwing up profusely. Literally thought I was dying. They were talking about the possibility of me needing a blood transfusion. After a pregnancy test, ultrasound, pelvic exam, and blood tests they told me I was not miscarrying but was likely caused by the birth control I was on at the time. 5 hours later I had been given enough blood to leave the hospital but I am still weak and tired from the blood loss. I will no longer take chateal."

"Before taking Chateal, I was on Sprintec for 9 years. I had a flawless experience with Sprintec, but when my health insurance ended I was left with Chateal. The first few months were fine, but over time I started spotting between periods more and more frequently. I was very careful about taking it at the same time every day, but still the spotting persisted. After just over a year on Chateal and about 6 months of spotting, I switched back to Sprintec a week ago and no spotting yet! Also, while on Chateal I felt down a lot of the time and had pretty bad anxiety. I'd rather pay out of pocket for Sprintec than get Chateal for free. It kept me from getting pregnant though, so it works in that sense."

"Started this to treat abnormal, irregular periods. I can say it treated that perfectly. No irregular nor painful periods ever since I started it. I used to also break out super hard before my period and that was also cleared up. I might get one small zit a month now. However, I cannot take this medication anymore. It has an incredibly strong effect on my mood, it makes me nauseous, and my appetite for both food and sex is nearly zero. I want to like this birth control. I've been on it for more than four months now, but it is not for me. I cannot handle how it affects my stomach and my mood. I won't say it's terrible, though, because it DOES do what it's meant to do. My periods are incredibly light and regular. Comes right on the second day of the last week and lasts only about three or four days. I recommend at least trying it. It is effective. Just keep a journal for your moods and sex drive."

"I was on another brand of BC but I had a lot of issues with it and planned parenthood gave me a free years supply of Chateal so it was worth a try. I have had no issues— in fact it helped some issues I was having. I’ve had periods that lasted over 4 months in the past or horrible painful bleeding where I’d soak through my pants every 45 mins. I was also very irregular and had a lot of acne. After the first two months my periods are completely regular and do not last more than 5-7 days. Acne cleared up and I lost some weight. And no pregnancy so yay. Only thing is I was nauseous for the first 2-3 months or so and definitely more depressed than usual but I already have depression so there’s that. The pros outweigh the cons with this brand."

"I was prescribed this Chateal to “regulate period”. I suffer irregular bleeding. I have only been taking this for 2 weeks and the side effects are horrible. I can’t do it. It made me bleed heavier. My flow was light before taking this. I never had bad cramps but I have painful cramping contractions that make my mood even worse. Honestly I was better off before taking this. I feel so down. I have never in my life had a patch of break out rash. I’ve always had nice skin at the most I might get a couple pimples around that time or a few bumps. I now have a itchy rash on one side of my face/chin that itches and it has to be this pill. I have no energy or motivation and this is only 2 weeks in so I’m scared to continue this."
