NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I've only been on it for a week now and I have some side effects such as moodiness, breast soreness, hair loss, bloating, diarrhea. It's not too bad though and I hope it subsides. I like that it is more convenient than the pill. You don't have to remember to take it everyday. But don't listen to people saying they hate it because some birth controls work for certain people and people complain about them all. Just experiment. Also my boyfriend said he couldn't feel it so that's a plus.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): When I began the NuvaRing in 2007 or early 2008 I absolutely loved it because I didn't have to take a pill everyday and taking the birth control pill made me nauseous and I gained a lot of weight. With NuvaRing I gained no weight at all the first time around. I never really noticed but I had no sex drive. My boyfriend and I have been together since 2007 and we have had a lot of issues due to our sex life, but once getting off birth control and then beginning again I've realized it is not me or him it's the birth control. The NuvaRing was convenient and you can hardly feel it and neither can your partner most of the time. It can fall out during sex, and my cramps were awful. I also cried randomly about 2 weeks prior to my period.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): This is my first month with Nuva Ring. The first week was awful. I had nausea and headache. It lasted for a full week. I was about to take it out, but I didn%u2019t. Now I am at the 3rd week and I don%u2019t have nausea or headache. I didn%u2019t want to tell my hubby about the Nuvaring to see if he could notice it. He said that he felt something there. I read before that you could take it out for less than 3 hours and still are protected. So next time I am doing that. Also, while we were having sex it felt really warm/hot inside, so I would say that is a good idea (for me anyways) to remove it before sex.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I love the NuvaRing and it has no side effects on my sex drive or any other part of my life. I have tried the Implanon, pill, patch etc. NuvaRing is by far my favorite. I would recommend this to any woman!

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I hate to be one of the many negative commenters on here, but I want others to know my side effects that were related to the ring, that i didn't at first think was related to it.
Severe anxiety and racing heart. back pain. Zero sex drive! My alcohol tolerance down to zero with severe vomiting, shivering and hangovers. VERY moody especially week before period.
I have been off all birth control for about 2-3 weeks...ALL symptoms have disappeared...amazingly...and now I know it's related to the birth control, not me going insane.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): Nuvaring is effective in pregnancy prevention. However, the side effects were bad. The first month was fine with only one bad side effect (diarrhea) and I wasn't too sure if it was even from my birth control that month. It was never listed as a side effect. When I got my period it was light and lasted only about 2 1/2days. 2-3 months side effects started to kick in, more abdominal cramps, normal discharge, extreme bloating very often, nausea, and headaches. Along with these I became extremely irritant/very grumpy, major loss in appetite, and when I did eat the diarrhea would hit (severely). Eventually I had horrible back pain, and became very depressed and negatively impacted on my life.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I had a free sample from my doctor. I was so happy when I first got it. I thought I couldn't feel it, my vagina was swelling inside after 2 days. I am a clean person, I did not even have sex right after I got it. My boyfriend said he felt the ring was uncomfortable while we have sex. I could barely enjoy sex because it burned. I have problem peeing since it burns and I could feel the ring was so irritating inside me. My mood was swinging and I had so much attitude ever since I had the ring. It was worse than having PMS. I lost interest in sex. Other than being happy for not having to deal with birth control every day, I would not recommend it if you are sensitive like me.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been on and off Nuvaring for the past...oh, maybe five years. Before that I did the pill and HATED IT. I was always forgetting to take it, and would count the pack at the end of the month and freak out. With the Nuvaring I never had that problem, just stuck it in and was good to go. Occasionally, the weeks would slip by and I'd forget when I put it in, but overall it wasn't too bad.
I wanted to write a good review about Nuvaring because it is a wonderful product. In all the years I had it, I didn't really gain weight, or see a big change in my skin, or experience major mood swings. Just try it and see if it works for you.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): Just so everyone on here knows, it is not just Nuvaring that kills your sex drive, all hormonal contraceptives do it. As far as the people gaining weight, my doctor said he's never heard of it with the Nuvaring and if you do gain weight its just water weight. Nuvaring is a great birth control, I have tried Yaz and Yazmin and had severe mood issues. If you have that with the Nuvaring you just have to try something else because it does not work for you. Not all birth control work for everyone!

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I've been on the NuvaRing since 2005 and I love it. No pregnancies, my period shortened from about 7 days to 4 days. I also used to have bad cramps but this helped a lot. I've tried Ortho Tri-cyclen (hated it, gained a lot of weight that took many years to take off), Tri-Norinyl (liked this but still had to take a pill everyday), Paraguard IUD (hurt for the 1st week then was fine, expelled it after 3 months though). My sex drive did not decrease on NuvaRing. My only complaint is my skin is a little worse and every once in a while I have to take it out during sex. Thumbs up from my boyfriend and myself.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): For those of you experiencing negative side effects...
I was on NuvaRing for 4 years. During that time I became depressed, and cramps and back pain were unbearable. I have discontinued use of NR and feel better. All side effects are gone! When I discussed this with my Dr., she stated that some women naturally produce a normal level of hormones. When these women are on birth control, it can cause all of these side effects due to having an elevated level of hormones. The opposite effect happens to women that don't naturally produce a normal level of hormones, leading them to actually feel better and not have all of these side effects. Which is why some women do well and feel great on birth control and others don't.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I originally came on to this site to look for facts on Implanon, because I am thinking of switching from Nuvaring to Implanon. Out of the many comments, only a few were good. There were many many negative comments and it made me wonder if the majority of people who choose to comment, do so because they are experiencing negative side-effects, and those women who aren't experiencing side-effects don't leave any comments at all. So I'm going to go ahead and add a GOOD comment about Nuvaring. Nuvaring has worked out GREAT for me. No side-effects that I have noticed. No weight gain, no mood swings, no acne. The only thing is that I can feel it during sex, which is an easy fix to just take it out before and put it back in afterward.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I've only been on NuvaRing for a week. But I'm not nearly so dizzy as I was on the pill. Haven't tested it yet to see how my hubby feels about it. I'm assuming though that the thorough disgust and nausea at the sight, smell and taste of hamburger last night is because the ring has the same hormones as being pregnant. Hoping that we're not pregnant right now. Have slight acne breakout. That is all for now. We'll see how I feel after more than a week.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I started using Nuvaring a year ago and finally decided to take it out a month ago. It was my boyfriend who finally pointed out that maybe my extreme mood swings that coincidentally started when I began using the ring could be attributed to it. I would cry and become angry literally every time I had my period, I have always been somewhat emotional when my period started but never like I have been in the past year. I started using it right when we began dating, and I attributed my extreme dryness to getting older (I'm 21). Right when I took it out I was back to normal again. Pro's: my breasts grew a cup size, my face was clear, and I loved not having to think about taking a pill every day. Con's: No sex drive, dryness, crazy mood swings.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I've been on Nuvaring for about 2 months after trying 3 different birth control pills over the past 3 years. I definitely recommend it for those who have mood swings or tiredness while on the pill and need a low-dose hormonal birth control option. For me I haven't had problems with either since I started Nuvaring. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the ring gets uncomfortable during sex and dry, but I've just gotten into a habit of taking it out.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been using the ring for about a year and a half now and I can relate to the symptoms everyone has been experiencing. Lack of sexual drive, mood swings, very sensitive, breast grew a cup size but is always very tender. Gained about 10lbs, was very emotional about everything. The only good thing about the ring is that you insert it for three weeks and once you remove the ring my period comes three days later like clock work. I had to stop using this birth control due to side effects. Hubby was pleased with the bigger breast but upset with the mood swings and lack of sexual interest.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I started using the Nuvaring approximately one month before my wedding day and never used any kind of hormonal birth control before. That was a mistake. I thought it'd would be easier than trying to remember when to take a pill- and it was, except, that on my wedding night, I was experienced great discomfort, which I thought was due to lack of experience? Dryness and pain. Not fun at all. My newlywed husband and I didn't think of it, until after the three weeks, and then the one week of not having the Nuvaring in. One week later, put a new ring in, and then started having serious pee issues- pain and burning, moodiness like all get-out, headaches. So five days later, took the ring out, and had another period! Am going to try the FemCap (2nd generation).

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I will be starting my third month on Nuva Ring tomorrow. I'm not in love with this birth control and might discontinue. The first month was great, no symptoms at all. On the third week I took the ring out as directed and started my period the next day. This second month hasn't been so great. I pretty much began having pregnancy symptoms. I have nausea, I vomited once, and tender breasts. I just feel slightly sick and have been for the last 2 1/2 weeks. This week I am off the ring and I was supposed to put a ring in tomorrow but had to go to the doctor to get a pregnancy test because I have completely missed my period. I'm not thank goodness, but these side effects have been getting worse.I have been getting headaches and I am moody brat lately. Not good

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): A very simple birth control to use.. I couldn't remember pills so I was on the ring for almost 3 years (I'm now 29). My sex drive has been reduced to nothing, except late in my period, not coincidentally when the ring has been out the longest. My periods are short, only about 2 1/2 days of light flow, but the cramps start 2 days before that and last right up til I put the next ring in. Worst of all is the depression and mood swings. I have a great life, but when my husband asks what I want for lunch, that has been enough to reduce me to literal tears lately. Also, I've gained nearly 40 pounds despite being more active than ever. I just came back from the gyno and got a copper (non-hormonal IUD) inserted today.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been using it for a while now. I get very moody, severe migraines and of course, my sex drive was non-existent. My husband hated it and begged me to switch. I have actually stopped using it just recently because it fell out. I didn't even know it fell out until I got my period all of a sudden. It's very convenient though. That was the only good thing about it besides that my periods were lighter.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I've been using Nuva Ring for two months now. It's my first attempt at hormonal birth control, so I was a little nervous about side effects. I give Nuva Ring high marks for ease of use -it's really great in that sense. Unfortunately, NuvaRing has killed my libido, which started shortly after I began using it and has only gotten worse. At first I thought it might be coincidental but now I know it's not. My first month on NuvaRing I also had a moderate acne breakout (very unusual for me). This hasn't happened again, though. I also get nausea the day after I insert a new ring, though I think that would fade if I kept using NuvaRing. I hate to give up a birth control that's so easy to use, but I refuse to spend my life without any sex drive.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been on NuvaRing for about two and a half years and it is fantastic. My periods were significantly shorter and lighter. Before starting the ring my period was a least 5 days long and I would need super plus and super tampons each day. Once on the ring my period lasted about 3 days and I rarely need super tampons. In addition, I didn't have to worry about taking a pill at the same time every day. That being said, I have noted a bit of dryness during sex and the ring can occasionally be difficult to insert, again due to dryness. Other than those side effects, which are relatively minor and easily remedied with personal lubricant, my experience with the NuvaRing has been a great.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): Nuvaring was great----while it was in! Once it was time to take it out, I had the most unbelievably horrible period I've ever had! Bad enough that I almost asked my husband to take me to the hospital. I was in excrutiating pain for 2 days, and very uncomfortable for an additional 2 (which is weird because my period is normally 2 days long).

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have always used Natural Family Planning until my husband and I started working at the same hospital and our hours made it impossible to keep track of everything like we had previously. I decided I'd try the lowest dose of Birth Control which is the Nuva ring. I had it in for less than one week because I became extremely depressed, crying spells, constipated, and nauseated. All of this mattered but I felt like my body needed to adjust to this... until, after sex I was bleeding and the left side of my vagina was very painful.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I've been on NuvaRing for 3 months. I chose Nuvaring because I knew I couldn't be trusted with taking a pill everyday but wanted birth control to help regulate my periods, ease mood swings, and clear skin. On Nuvaring still have mood swings, more headaches now, at times feel very tired, still have bad breakouts and also an almost non existent sex drive. I assumed all this was because I was home with 3 little kids, until I noticed a pattern while on the Nuvaring. Three days after I take the ring out, I have a surge of sexual desire (also this is when my period starts, figures). I'm going to stick with it for another 2 months to see how it goes, meanwhile I'm going to talk with my doctor again about better options.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): It seems that a lot of the people describing their experience with the NuvaRing are of the younger generation. I'm 31 and have been using the ring for the last 4 months after being on Ortho Tri Cyclen for years. Within the first 2 weeks of inserting the ring my body went through changes as if I was in puberty all over again. My breasts swelled, and became annoyingly sensitive, my face broke out with acne and I gained weight over two months time. On top of all of this, I've been over emotional and tired. The convenience of the ring is nice, but definitely not worth all the side effects for me.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been on Nuvaring for 8 months now and overall I've had a good experience. I used to be on the pill and would always have a period every 2 weeks instead of 3, since I've been on Nuvaring I'm right on schedule. If the ring "slips" it's an easy fix, and it's nice to not have to worry about taking a pill every day. It has only come out twice during sex, but again, easy fix. You can take if out before sex if you want if it makes you uncomfortable thinking your partner can feel it. My only complaint with the Nuva ring is that it has lowered my lubrication during sex.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been using the Nuva-ring for about 5 years. I used the Nuva-Ring because I would forget to take the pill. At first things were awesome because I would insert it in and leave it in for 3 weeks. Well over time my moods got weirder and weirder. I'm starting new birth control next month. I'm tired of having bad moods and being sick all the time. I'm not saying I don't recommend it but I know it's not for me anymore.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I would strongly suggest this product - I've been using it for about a year and a half with no complaints. Occasionally it slips down a little, but that's easily fixed. The only difficult part is that you don't develop a routine, so you have to mark a calendar to remember to take it out / put it in. I've only forgotten once, by a little less than a day, but that meant I had to wait a week to have sex.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I've been on NuvaRing for 4 months and so far it's been decent. I've been on roughly 8 different types of pill form contraceptives and had a variety of side effects from most of them, so my doctor finally suggested NuvaRing. I did have some side effects (mild bloating, headaches, irregular period, acne) however, most have subsided or become tolerable. Most of the side effects I've experienced are typical for me, especially for the first few months after switching to a new brand. Overall it's great and convenient, stays in place and makes life easier.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been using the NuvaRing for a bit over 2 weeks now. I love it. I was a bit cautious about having sex with it, and worried that my boyfriend would feel it inside my vagina. He can't feel it and I have never experienced a "slipping out" or was afraid that I was going to lose it during sex. I know everyone's body is different. For me, I'm small 100lbs 5 feet, the other two oral birth control pill I've tried Ortho-tricylen and Aviane both made me horribly moody and I had non-stop breakthrough bleeding on Aviane.
Overall, I say NuvaRing is the best birth control yet. My sex drive is boosted, I can forget I'm even using birth control for three weeks, and I am not moody at all. I feel like a teenager again.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have just finished my first month on Nuva Ring. I am unable to take regular birth control because of high blood pressure, and so far no problems from Nuva Ring. Also, I have migraines regularly and didn't want to try a IUD or anything inserted in my arm. The only problem I have had is when the Nuva Ring is out after the 3 weeks, I get VERY heavy menstrual flow and bad cramps. This is unusual for me, since I usually have a 2 day period with light flow. Don't know if it has anything to do with the Nuva Ring or with having a baby 8 months ago.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): This is my second month on Nuvaring and so far I have absolutely no complaints. I love the ease of just inserting it once a month and just removing it 3 weeks later. I have had no mood swings, weight gain nor depression. As a matter of fact I think I have even lost weight because it seems to have subsided my constant cravings. I would definitely recommend Nuvaring to anyone.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I been on Nuva Ring for 2 months. I love the ease of it. It is so nice to just forget about it for a few weeks and then take it out and have your period. The down side for me though, was that I became moody the first few days then that got a little better. During intercourse it would fall out. And also sometimes I could feel it slipping, but never fell out. But one the the side effects I have that I don't like is no sex drive. He wants me on something but if these are the side effects I'm going to get I don't want to be on anything. Also a good upside to the ring for me is it helps me gain a little weight as I'm a little under. All in all it's pretty good other than the few side effects I am having.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I found Nuvaring mostly unproblematic, convenient, and easy to use. (I did have mood swings that might be attributable to it, but it's hard to say, since there were other factors involved.) The main problem, however, was that I had frequent breakthrough bleeding: after 7 months use it was like I was having a very small period 20 days out of the month! Very annoying, to say the least. The doctor told me that meant the hormone dosage was too low for me and has proscribed Kariva for me instead, so we'll see how that goes.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): It's been one week and I feel EXTREMELY tired and depressed. I really want this to work so I'll give it a little more time. It's easy to put in and I don't feel it at all. But I'm sleeping like 12 hours a day, and feel like I'm swimming through mud. Also, I've been having random cramps, or sharp pains in my abdomen.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I used this birth control a couple years ago and had no trouble, but I used it again from February-September of this year and ran into bad side effects. My sex drive went way down along with lubrication. I saw the doctor who ended up removing the ring for 3 months and everything returned to normal. I lost weight afterwards as well.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I love the Nuvaring. Since I've been on it, I've been emotionally normal (at least I think so) and my doctor put me on an extended regimen so that I only have my period every 9 weeks. It definitely makes those periods tolerable. Yay for Nuvaring.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have been on the ring for several months now and absolutely love it. I don't like the more dramatic IUDs, but wanted something more reliable and convenient than spermicide condoms, etc. I'm terrible at remembering to take the pill, so the NuvaRing has been perfect for me. It goes in easy and I can't feel it. My boyfriend has no complaints either, theres only been ONE instance where he claimed he could feel it.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I have used several pill form birth controls and the NuvaRing is my first non-pill method. I really like the fact that it is hassle free.I always had a hard time remembering to take the pill. Also, unlike the patch, it is not visible. I am the type who likes to have a period each month as an additional reassurance that I am not pregnant, so it is a better option for me than the shot or other period-free method. The side effects that I have experienced were mostly common- some water weight gain, shorter and lighter menstrual cycles, some cramping during my cycle. Some new side effects that I do not enjoy is a regualr (heavy) vaginal disharge which is stated as common for the ring. Also, I have random abdomen cramping.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I LOVE NUVARING! I have NO side effects and my doctor said it was safe to use it continuously each month, how convenient is that! I get to pick and choose when I have my cycle and I insert it and forget about it for the month, it's the most idiot proof product ever.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): NuvaRing is my first kind of birth control and it's convenient because I don't have to remember to take a pill everyday. It has also evened out my up and down hormone mood swings but it's difficult to use when I am away traveling for a few weeks and happen to be needing to place the next one in. This is something I didn't think of until I planned a 14 day trip, which ended up right in the middle of my cycles.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): I love NuvaRing. It's so much easier than the pill and it makes me feel safer because it's a lot harder to mess up. The only problem is that it's really expensive.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): Absolutely LOVE IT! With every other birth control I've used, my periods were unpredictable, but they have been almost perfect since I started the NuvaRing. I have gained a few pounds, but that's no big deal, because it beats thinking I am pregnant every month or that I'm going to die from losing so much blood.

ethinyl estradiol/etonogestrel: This is an amazing contraceptive. I love it. I have been using it since last year and I haven't had any problems. My boyfriend rarely notices it, and I never feel it. It works well for me because its just enough hormones for my body and its released at a steady amount everyday and I dont have to remember to take a pill every day at the same time. That makes it so convenient for me.

NuvaRing (ethinyl estradiol/ etonogestrel): Very convenient. Most of the time, I don't even know it's there. I've experienced some emotional and physical side effects, mostly during the first day after I put a new ring in, but they started to subside after about 3 months' use. My boyfriend initially didn't want me to try NuvaRing, but it doesn't bother him now.
