Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "Only inhaler I have ever used 1st time and I have developed severe allergies over time. Covid long haul symptoms has me wheezing etc I was fine after the vaccine but 4 months later the wheezing is back plus allergic reaction when lungs close up can hardly breathe etc. I started using primatene mist and it’s a life saver. Now I’m hoping the government will extend to a 4th booster dose as I know it will stop the wheezing for another 4 months at least. This is my new reality :("

EpiPen (epinephrine) for Allergic Reactions "I carry 2 EpiPens with me at all times, they have saved me more than once. When an anaphylactic reaction strikes I reach for my epipen, inject and within minutes I'm feeling better. I carry 2 in case the first dose is not enough, that has only happened once and the second dose did the trick. Thankful to still be alive. I follow up with benadryl to stop itching hives."

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "Huge fan of original Primatene mist. Figured I'd try the new one, as I'm not thrilled with Ventalin, Proair, Albuteral, ...whatever. The instructions are freaking weird!! I finally took a shot. I choked and coughed myself into a serious attack. I wanted it to be good, but I'm sorry...it sucks! It's the only over the counter inhaler...and that's criminal. I have great insurance and still run out of my inhalers on occasion. Someone can do better than this. A few people said they like it. Go for it if its your only option...you never know till you try. I returned mine, and told cashier, "if I was in serious trouble when I came in, that would have put me in an ambulance". As if she understood!?"

EpiPen 2-Pak (epinephrine) for Anaphylaxis "I have COPD and allergies. I was exposed to AGENT ORANGE in Vietnam in 1970. I've had two experiences with anaphylaxis in the last year. Both times my wife injected me with the drug in the EPI-PEN. This reaction kept me breathing the 1st time, and the ambulance took me to the emergency room. I recovered in the ER, and was released the following day. The 2nd time was far worse. Epi-pen gave me about 5 minutes where I could breathe, but my wife had call 9-1-1, and they arrived quickly. I do not recall the transport, nor the ER treatment. I was out. There were 8 doctors and nurses working on me according to my wife. I came to in intensive care, with 7 or 8 IV devices, and a room full of medical personnel. My wife was asked about a DNR in the emergency room. I was in a bad way. I stayed in ICU for 2 1/2 days, and was released. The doctors and the EMA techs said my wife saved my life by giving me the EPI-PEN injection. It gave me just enough time for medical assistance to arrive."

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "I have used this inhaler because it is over the counter and much cheaper than any prescription. It gets the job done, however it tastes horrible and sometimes causes a weird numbness in the throat for a few seconds. Thought it might just be me, but two other people agreed with me."

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "I used to use the Old primatene mist before they took it off the market much to my chagrin. I was happy to see the new one was on there but at twice the price the new one gives me paradoxical bronchospasms and shoots my heart rate up gives me stomach pain. I'm trying to cut down on the usage of it because my albuterol is not working too well and I have restless leg syndrome and and I'm pre-diabetic and albuterol can cause hypoglycemia and restless leg syndrome. If I use too much primatene messed I get restless leg and tachycardia nervousness tremors. The long-acting broncho agonists that they prescribe LABAs have serious side effects tachycardia very strong tremors pain stomach pain they don't always work. I have to be very careful with them right now and my skin is so thin, dry, itchy and burning and I am also allergic to everything I have contact dermatitis I truly believe that these medications are wrecking my life but not being able to breathe?"

EpiPen (epinephrine) for Anaphylaxis "This medication was literally a life saver for me. I have had severe allergies to peanuts since I was a child. I mean, where I couldn't even touch peanut m&ms because they had peanuts inside the chocolate shells or sit in a seat at one of those places where you throw peanut shells on the floor or whatever as you eat them. I have had to use my epipen in that situation once (because I didn't want to seem different and I didn't think that just sitting in a seat, which I assumed had been wiped off) would affect me. I have also had to use it visiting my parents when my grandfather was alive because he loved peanuts and I'd sit where he's sat and had to use it again. I always carry two on me at all times."

For Allergic Reactions "I had a severe allergic reaction to something and was in the ambulance when I was given epinephrine intravenously after Benadryl failed to slow the reaction. The epinephrine hurt as it entered my blood stream; I could trace a burning pins and needles sensation as it traveled up my arm, across my back, and into my head. Then it hit - sudden terrible throbbing headache, my limbs going numb, absolute instant vomiting and involuntary bowel movement. I said "I'm going to die," since it felt like my body was shutting down. My heart rate jumped but my blood pressure dropped like a rock - from 145/95 to 85/50 within thirty seconds. It took several minutes for the pain to subside and the numbness to fade. Did it help? Yes, but I don't think I'll use it again."

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "Used this for two months with good results. Then my chest started burning after using, then started to get intense stomach pain, even after gargling. Sorry I wasted my money on a third. Will be giving to my husband for his allergy attacks and intermittent shortness of breath. He has a cast iron stomach."

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "I have issues using Albuterol. For me after taking it I have to continue taking it and it is a downward spiral of dependence chasing my next breath. With Primatene I don't get this issue. I can use it when I need it, and the rest of the time forget that it's there. It's nice that I can use it and not become dependent on it, or a doctor for that matter if I need more."

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "In the last few years, I have noticed that when I do a lot of physical work outside or am around a tremendous amount of grass clippings or dust, my breathing becomes labored. A few weeks ago, I was in a very dry, dusty, graveled parking lot and my truck was covered in pollen. I drove around doing what I needed to do with all the windows down, and the next thing I knew, I couldn't breathe. I told my granddaughter to call my daughter and bring me her son's inhaler. I know it was a bad idea to use someone else's medicine, but it was the fastest solution and I couldn't breathe. I picked up two of these inhalers for emergencies, and I have used one of them now with amazing results. When I go back to my doctor, I will explain to her everything I went through, but for now, I have peace of mind and I know it will help me. I noticed no side effects after using it, and I recommend that anyone keep it in their purse as an emergency backup plan. I wish I had it that day. I felt like I was dying with fluids coming from all parts of my body!"

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "This is the only inhaler over the counter that works. I've had severe asthma my whole life and I'm not covered by insurance to get the real thing so this is a blessing. Waking up having attacks is new to me now that I'm older and Primatene Mist is my go-to. It has a bad taste and yes, it makes you a bit jittery but IT WORKS..."

Primatene Mist (epinephrine) for Asthma, acute "Primatene mist sucks these days. The medication is not as strong as it used to be 11 years ago. Even after taking a puff I’m back to wheezing and shortness of breathe again after 30 minutes. Also this medication burns my esophagus. Rinse your mouth every time."
