For Bowel Preparation "This was my third colonoscopy and had never had problems before with other prep kits. This one did me in. I woke up the day of the procedure feeling queasy, and sure enough, about 40 minutes after drinking the prep, I was vomiting profusely. I had to run the drug store to get magnesium citrate to complete the process, but got sick after that as well. Luckily, I kept the latter down long enough to get the necessary affect. My gastro was not happy that I'd had the problem. He apologized profusely and said that was the last one he was prescribing. Too many patients were reporting problems."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my first colonoscopy and chose Preponik because it would be easier to drink. I normally have constipation problems so I was concerned that it would not work. I mixed it very very well with cold water (3 minutes of mixing) at 4 pm and drank it. It had a nice flavor like orange tang. Then I drank the 8oz of water (one every 30 mintues). I was able to have a bm after 1 hour. Then I had a dozen for the next 3 hours. I was able to go to bed and sleep. No cramping. No nausea. The next morning, I drank the mixture at 3 am and the 8oz of water (every 30 minutes). I did 4 waters until 6 am because my colonoscopy was at 10:20 am and I was not supposed to have fluids 4 hours before. Preponik worked great. I would highly recommend it,"

For Bowel Preparation "I read these reviews religiously before my first colonoscopy a few weeks ago. My experience with prepopik was very positive. I took the first dose around 5:40 pm. Within 40 minutes I was on the toilet. This was on and off until 11. I fell asleep and woke up for the 2nd dose at 2:30. This time I was not able to complete the required liquids. I was so nauseated. I finished up around 5 and slept until my appointment time. The diarrhea was a liquid from the beginning, and I was petrified that my colon was not clean enough. Turns out, it was gorgeous. My colonoscopy went without a hitch. my only complaint is nausea, and that wasn't too awful."

For Bowel Preparation "Prepopik is HORRIBLE. If your doctor recommends it (which it seems like they are because people like the idea you only have to drink 5 oz two times) it does not work! I took it at 5pm as instructed, drank more than the amount of water instructed, and did not have a bowel movement until 10pm---it was normal, and then only until 1am did it seem to be working, but just that one time. Then I started it 2 hours earlier than instructed the next morning since I knew it took a long time to work....4 hours later, still nothing. I had to call the doctor and they said to go get an enema or else my procedure would be cancelled. Imagine going through all that prep for no procedure!! Prepopik was the WORST colon prep I have ever used."

For Bowel Preparation "I wish I would've read this group prior to starting my prep. I've had Crohn's Disease for 19 years and have had numerous colonoscopies. Currently, I'm in good health and my colonoscopy tomorrow (hopefully is just routine. Preponik sounded promising. Less nasty liquid to drink. Hooray. Except that I drank magnesium citrate at 7pm last night and Preponik at 9am and 4pm with more than the recommended amount of clear fluids and hardly anything has happened. It's now 6:15pm and I just talked to my GI and had to drink an extra bottle of magnesium citrate (a fleet enema doesn't clear our the upper colon). If it doesn't clear out by 2am, I can't do the colonoscopy tomorrow. Seriously?!"

For Bowel Preparation "I had 3 colonoscopies over a three year period. I used Prepopik for all 3. I actually liked the sweet/sour taste and the doc said that I was clean as a whistle! Love it! P.S. also used and online coupon to get some money off."

For Bowel Preparation "What a waste of time and money! Easiest prep I've ever done, but no results for 13 hours after 1st dose, then took 2nd dose 6 hours before procedure and got no more results at all. Had to cancel procedure. Took 2 more days to get the Prepopik out of my system! Now I get to go back and discuss alternative preps and do it all over again."

For Bowel Preparation "I have a colonoscopy every three years so this isn't my first rodeo! I have successfully used Golytely and Suprep in the past. This time, the nurse wrote a script for Prepopik. I was on clear liquids the day before the scheduled colonoscopy. At 8pm I consumed the first packet of Prepopik mixed with 5 oz of water and chased it within 2 hours of 50 oz of water. I waited and waited but felt nothing, not even a little toot! At 4am I took the second packet mixed with 5 oz of water. I chased it with 24 oz of water within an hour. I waited again but felt nothing until 7:30am when I had a very small movement. My stool never cleared more than normal diarrhea. I was forced to cancel my 10:30 am colonoscopy appointment. Never again!"

For Bowel Preparation "My body is Sodium sensitive. I took the first dose as prescribed and within 15 minutes I had a splitting headache and my blood pressure went up to 190/80 . When I called the doctors service :they warned not to take 2nd dose and said that the upper and lower exams could not be done with pressure that high and for me to call my primary physician if the numbers didn't go down."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed Prepopik to take before a colonoscopy. I took the first dose at 6PM and drank 5 8oz. glasses of water over the next couple of hours. The medicine didn't start working until 11PM. Only went to the bathroom 3 times and it didn't completely clean the colon. I was instructed to take the 2nd dose at 5AM the following morning . I took it at 4AM given how long it took to work the evening prior. I took the 2nd dose followed by 3 8oz. glasses of water over the next hour. Medicine finally kicked in around 8AM. Again, only had to go to the bathroom twice but it was finally all yellow liquid. Went for the colonoscopy and it seemed to go well. Started evacuating more Prepopik after going home. Would not recommend Prepopik."

For Bowel Preparation "I have had many colonoscopies, and this was the worst prep I ever used. None are pleasant, but for me this is the worst. Took the first packet at 2:00pm. It took an hour to start working, and produced several loose bowel movements and lots of cramping and nausea. Took the second dose 6 hours later at 8:pm. Had a loose b.m. within 15 minutes and then nothing until four hours later after lots of cramping and bloating. I have consumed way more liquid then the instructions say to, and it is now 3:00AM and I am still not clean. My scope is scheduled for 11am and my experience tells me there is no way I will be clean by then. I STRONGLY ADVISE you to not use this.................."

For Bowel Preparation "Had an endoscopy (w/biopsy) and colonoscopy (double adventure) yesterday. Not my first time having procedures but first trial with Prepopik. Much easier than expected. Started 1st pack around 5pm & drank more than the 5 8oz clear liquids (rotated between chicken broth and Gatorade to balance off the sweet/salt cravings plus have extra electrolytes to avoid dehydration). The meds kicked in about an hr later and continued till around 10pm. Second dose at 1am. Had plenty to drink again. Doc recommended I take Gas-x (1 tablet after drinking the med). No cramping! Slept from 3-6am. Had mild headache (thought caffeine withdrawal or being hungry). My procedure was at 9am. Headache/nauseous till procedure but recovered fine! Would recommend meds."

For Bowel Preparation "As a colon cancer patient, I have had colonoscopies every 6 months for years. As an old pro, I must say that I have NEVER experienced anything remotely as totally ineffective as this supposed preparation. As a result, I must reschedule for after the first of the year and pay my full medical deductible immediately, rather than no cost because deductible is already met for this year. My husband will be docked pay for taking off to drive me. I will have to take another week off blood thinner. And I feel nauseated, bloated, and angry. Shame on prepopik for taking good folks' money with false claims!"

For Bowel Preparation "3rd colonoscopy. Cost $65 after insurance! First dose at 6pm. Very palatable. Drank 5 cups liquid as instructed. Medicine started working within an hour, but the trips were very spaced out. By 10pm dose I was no where near "running clear." Was supposed to drink 3 more cups by 12, but only managed 2. Still slow going - in bathroom every hour right up to procedure. Needless to say, I was exhausted. I told the doc I wasn't sure I was cleaned out but after the procedure she said it was ok (and I'm cleared for 5 yrs!) But - terrible cramps after procedure. Asked husband to stay near because I thought I'd faint from pain. And 24 hrs after dose 1 I'm still prepping. Food is going right through me. Never again. Drink tons of water if you try it."

For Bowel Preparation "Did not do the job. Colonoscopy has to be redone as a result. It may be somewhat more pleasant to take than Moviprep or GoLytely, but what good is that if it doesn't work? I've taken both of the latter two with good results."

For Bowel Preparation "I used this for my first colonoscopy so I have no other comparison. It did not do the job. I had to cancel my procedure because of this and ended up using miralax/gatorade combo in order to complete the colonoscopy the next day. Wasted time and (insurance company’s) money."

For Bowel Preparation "Easy to take especially with all the clear liquids now available ((core peach water etc) clear broth, ginger ale, etc. First dose worked after about two hours. 3:30 am dose worked after 2 hours. Cost was $140 with $10 off from my insurance. Well worth it. Very different from my last prep. Tip: eat lightly a couple of days before prep."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed Prepopik for a colonoscopy prep. I have had three colonoscopies in the past and never had a problem getting "clean" by following the instructions. However, with Prepopik this was not the case. The first dose was completely ineffective. I had to urinate almost immediately each time after drinking the prescribed fluid but it did nothing for my bowels. The following morning, taking the second dose, the Prepopik did begin to clean out my colon however not well enough for my early afternoon procedure. My copayment was $75 for this ineffective medication."
