Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "Like others have said, this cough medicine is the only Rx that effectively treats a cough (due to combo of reflux, post nasal drip and allergies…perfect storm) that I have dealt with over the past 30 years!! When this coughing “season” occurs, I cough to the point of vomiting throughout the day and especially at night. I only take this medicine at night when incessantly coughing has kept me awake for several nights. The question is how do you get doctors to prescribe as needed without thinking you are drug seeking or addicted? Other meds just don’t impact the coughing like tussionex…it eradicates the cough!!"

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "This stuff is a miracle cure for nasty coughs. I was prescribed this for a painful, dry cough that was unresponsive to codeine and OTC cough medicines. It completely killed my cough and allowed me to relax and sleep. If I were a doctor I'd give this stuff out instead of codeine."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "First of all , if you go to a doctor and request this medicine, he/she will see this as drug seeking behavior. It is an opiate . The only difference between Tussionex and Vicodin is the antihistamine in the Tussionex. It is highly addictive. I should know ...I have been to drug treatment two times for my addiction to Tussionex. I didn't take it as prescribed though - worked my way up to 3oz. Each day - sometimes twice a day. Be very careful."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "As others have stated, this medicine is great. I have been so sick for over a week; coughing and spitting up constantly, unable to talk without going into a severe coughing spell and unable to sleep due to the cough and having to clear my throat so I could breathe. I finally went to the doctor today. He gave me Z-pack, a Celestone shot AND the Tussionex Suspension. I know it was the Tussionex that did the trick so quickly. I remember having it years ago, and same thing; my "impossible to cure" cough went away very soon. Next time I get a bad cough, I'm going for the Tussionex Pennkinetic Suspension immediately. NOTHING else that I've used the past week came anywhere near to eliminating my symptoms. Excellent product."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "My Dr. prescribes this for me every fall/winter. I get a cold, it turns into bronchitis and then I can't sleep or function normally due to the horrible coughing. I take it about an hour before I go to bed and I sleep like a baby, no coughing and wake up refreshed and ready to go. Side effect is I feel a little groggy until around 11 am but that's not a big deal for me when you aren't coughing and able to sleep."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "I first used Tussionex in 1981. At that time it was called Tussionex Susp. and contained only 5mg hydrocodone per dose. They also had a tablet version available back then, which equaled one teaspoon of the suspension. The reason that it is so effective over other cough remedies, even other syrups which contain hydrocodone, is due to the type of hydrocodone used. "

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "I have had bronchitis and pneumonia on many occasions and this medicine is hands down the best for helping stop the coughing and pain associated with coughing from these infections. I have walking pneumonia right now and my family Dr. will not prescribe any narcotic cough syrup. Tussionex would have been a huge blessing for me!"

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "This is the best cough syrup hands down in the country. It works very, very well and no bad taste. Very pricey, but worth it. Some doctors will not write for it. I think that is poor professionalism for those who refuse. Yes some will seek and/or abuse but the benefit of the doubt should be given for something that works this well. Highly recommended."

TussiCaps (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "Had a chronic cough for 1 month that over the counter medicines wouldn't stop and even prescription syrups wouldn't stop. I went through 4 bottles of syrup before going on Tussicaps - stopped my cough in less than 24 hours. It came with a side effect of drowsiness which was fine for me because I hadn't slept in over a month due to the cough. Great medication."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "I recently moved to Savannah, GA and developed a horrid cough. I continued to get colds and did not stop coughing for weeks. I was treated by an allergist with every known allergy drug, inhaler and nasal spray. I then started allergy shots. I continued to cough till I threw up at least 10 times a day. In addition this caused urinary incontinence. I then started to see an ENT and went through cat scans, scopes, etc. with no relief from the cough. My personal care physician has now suggested I see a gastroenterologist. Meanwhile she was willing to treat the symptoms. This is the best drug I have ever taken. After the first dose I immediately stopped coughing. It lasts a full 12 hours and allows me to sleep!"

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "This is the best cough medicine out there. Whenever I get chest colds that keep me up at night coughing, I request this. I have been doing this for 10 yrs. Seriously if you want to stop your cough - request this one. nothing works like this one. The side effects do not out weigh the results!"

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "After 15 years of vasomotor rhinitis, which caused chronic coughing, I was finally prescribed something that helped me sleep without waking up 10 times coughing each night. I don't notice any hangover or grogginess the next day. My only complaint is that it is not covered by my insurance and is a little expensive."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "I was prescribed Tussionex for a cough associated with viral pneumonia. It was excellent for suppressing my cough. However, I felt as if I'd had a couple of Margaritas, so I was only able to take it before bedtime instead of every 12 hours or I couldn't have functioned at work. On the positive side, it did eliminate the constant cough and allow me a good night's sleep. As another reviewer noted, I also found it extremely constipating. I advise increasing your liquid intake and possibly taking an over the counter stool softener while using Tussionex."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "This is a wonderful medicine that will turn off the most vicious coughs. Having said that, my doctor and I found that 5ml every 8hrs (instead of the usual max of 10ml/day) is most effective IN MY CASE; I'm about 2 meters tall and about 105 kilo. I have asthma which is easily exacerbated; when I get any sort of cough it can (and, in the past has) turn(ed) into pneumonia. In my doctor's estimation, Tussionex has saved me about 5 trips to the hospital, over the last 10 years. In summary: This medicine, (expensive as it may be) has, in my opinion, plausibly saved my life. It shuts the cough off and allows my lungs to heal."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cold Symptoms "My physician ordered this medicine after a severe flu and cold that lasted over a month. I found immediate relief, even helped the laryngitis. I see great potential for my patients in hospice. I am amazed at how effective it worked and with minimal negative side effects. I am amazed I have never heard of it before. As a clinician I see great potential for my patients."

For Cough "This stuff is scary. It gives me night sweats, but more concerning, I get really high levels of anxiety and I am concerned about my breathing. Feels too relaxed, like breathing may stop. Horrific feeling. Result is massive insomnia and I still cough."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "Just got some of this at immediate care. Thank you, thank you!!!! I have bronchitis and have been coughing for 3 weeks. It is ridiculous that Dr's don't want to give it because a minority of people will abuse it and that has tied their hands. Give me a break!!!! I took this and 5 minutes later coughed up some terrible looking infected mucus. I'm not coughing, relaxed and finally will be able to sleep. Good luck getting it though especially from your regular Dr. They will try everything else before giving you something that works. Not to mention appt after appt.....Mo money, Mo money. Go straight to immediate care, pay the extra or hope your deductable is paid. Also for everyone saying it dosen't work, make sure you are shaking it up well."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "Tussinex is awesome for that cough you get at night, where you get a tickle in your throat and just have to cough and can't stop. For me, it makes me feel loopy though, even 12 hours later I will be lightheaded, so I usually don't use it unless Cepacol or something doesn't work. It's rare I use it more than once a year, and even then I only use half the dose. It really works but it's powerful."

For Cough "Had a cough so bad it was hurting my back and gave me terrible headaches. Was first prescribed another product which did little. Have been taking this new prescription for a couple of days now (only need 1 tsp every 12 hrs)...amazing. Finally feeling like I'm getting better. Cough is much less, not nearly as tired as I was (was sleeping 16-20 hr days) been awake most of today. Thank you so much!"

TussiCaps (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "Immediately relieved coughing and respiratory problems. I had a bad flu with severe coughing that lasted for 2 weeks. Every OTC medicine would not stop my dry cough. My doctor prescribed Tussicaps and after taking one capsule, the coughing stopped. I did experience drowsiness, so do not take this medicine if you need to drive or operate heavy machinery. Dosage is easy since it is just a capsule (no more measuring cups or overdoses) This medicine is fantastic!"

TussiCaps (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "The directions tell you the medicine stops the desire to cough. Works great but also stops the desire to pretty much do anything. Haha. Works amazing but plan on catching up on the sleep you've been missing from your cough. This worked for about 14 hours from one pill on me. Didn't take any today and the cough is back. I had some residual effects of dizziness when it was wearing off. As soon as I ate some food and slowed down a little it went away quickly. "

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "I had bad cold and a continued cough that kept me awake. After I developed a fever, I was prescribed Tussionex and antibiotics. The Tussionex worked amazingly well. I was finally able to sleep without waking up coughing all the time. It does taste good too. I have just been taking it at bedtime and am trying not to take it too much. But if I have any more cough problems, I will ask for this first!"

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "After my stubborn attempt to rid an upper respiratory cold without a doctors help, and trying OTC Guafen, mucolytics, dexbrompheniramine for cough suppression, and staying well rested and hydrated, at days 10-13 I realized I needed help as I hardly slept for two days with an incessant post nasal drip caused cough. An urgent care doc confirmed no pneumonia, no sinus infection yet to handle the cough, lingering inflammation and likely bacterial symptoms (yellow and brown sputum), prescribed an albuterol inhaler, zithromycin and Tussionex. Smart cocktail to handle all. I’ve slept great for the past two days because the Tussionex has kept my cough at bay and I’m turning the corner for the better."
