For Anxiety "I used to suffer from panic attacks. They occurred mostly at work. I tried Clonazepam, but it just made me have sleepy panic attacks. Clonazepam worked perfectly for regular anxiety though. Librium worked like a charm. My psych put me on 2 doses per day of 25 mg. I would take one dose 1/2 hour before getting to work and another 2 hours later. That didn't cover a long enough period so she increased to 3 doses per day. I'm finding that I need 4 doses per day as my panic attacks would normally happen any time between 9am and 1pm. Since taking it I have not had any panic attacks."

For Anxiety "Currently my medication regimen is a mess. I take xanax 1 mg twice a day, and 2mg at bedtime. And valium 5mg at 5pm and 10mg at 9pm plus ambien 10mg! And I just tried a 10mg librium and I slept very well for the first time in months any ideas?"

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Was given Librium while in detox for a week and it was quite astonishing, very effective. But I think I may have been getting too much and could not walk much of the time. Rehabilitation eventually failed with a relapse to beer drinking in excess. Will try some Librium in moderation soon for a try at home."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I've been drinking since 12y/o. Relapsed hard about 3 weeks ago after the manager at work had suspected that I had been drinking at work and fired me. I spent all of the money I had left in the bank trying to drink myself to death. Had a free ride to law school and lost that, so that played a big role in my depressive drinking. Got to the hospital after I began going into withdrawals and they sedated me, and gave me a Librium prescription. I'm a 210 pound male with 12% bf so I'm a strong otherwise healthy guy. Four 25 mg first day then tapered down the second day decreasing each day by 1 pill. I'm still on 1 pill at night. You should exercise when off to control CNS excitement. Vivid dreams too. Saved me too."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Since having a seizure back in December 2015 I had been put on Librium. When I tapered off of it I started relapsing with Alcohol over and over, many hospital trips. The drug did always help me take the edge off, but when I felt the need to not be on it anymore except occasionally at night when I couldn't sleep which I've always had sleeping issues. But the drug did save me after the seizure from withdrawals I was drinking and binging so much at that time of life, beer, shots, all day and night, no eating at all. I ended up staying alcohol free till like April and relapsed and it's been downhill since then I've now accepted to greater myself, and grow more will power to not drink again Librium has helped me through these past few years."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "First time I went to an inpatient rehab, thought I was going to die I was so sick, shaking uncontrollably, near hallucinating, and they gave me two tablets of which mg I don't know, and it worked wonders! I took what I imagine to be 25mg every 4-6 hours after that and within 3 days felt great, stayed there 5 days and at day 4 I was ready to get out of there. Unfortunately, I relapsed and binged for a month. This time I did it outpatient and the Dr. gave me 25mg tabs which I took 1 every 4-6 hours the first day and it immediately made me feel 10 times better. Overall the course of 5 days I slowly tapered off and it's what I recommend to anyone wiithdrawing from the sauce."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Tested positive this week for Benzo's at a aftercare treatment center. Could not figure it out from my normal prescribed medications I take daily, all non-benzo's until I looked it up on this site. Over three weeks ago I was given Libruium at a detox center. So this must be why I showed up as positive for Benzo's in a urine test weeks after detox is completed. I am glad I found this site and now know the cause."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I have been an occasional binge drinker for years, going on 2-3 day tangents. The next day, I have gotten the shakes very bad. My doctor gave me Librium which really helped at one time, but it seems throughout the years I need a larger dose now. What usually works is in the am as soon as I wake up, I take one 25mg. pill. 2 hours later another 25 mg. pill, then about 4 hours after that, another, 4 hours later another. So that would 100 mg the first day. This is on the day after drinking. On the 2nd day, I usually only need one or two 25 mg. pills, Then I'm fine. I'm tired of going through this, think I'll start AA today or tomorrow. Nothing feels worse than a hangover! Drinking doesn't solve your problems!"

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I drank for years and years since I was 16 and this year my withdrawals started and I tried to stop but I didn’t because of horrible horrible withdrawals and NHS decided to help me and I took Librium for 8 days and all my anxiety and withdrawals disappeared after one hour! It changed my life and I’m so grateful to be given a second chance and I’m only 25!"

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I am in my 40's. Struggled with alcohol since mid 20's. I was up to about half a large bottle of vodka a day. When I tried to stop I had hallucinations and 4 seizures. My legs were bucking. After a stay at hospital I was prescribed librium. I think it saved my life."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I was admitted to the VA hospital with a blood Alcohol level of .0425 (most people would be dead). Drinking for 2 months straight. Alcohol withdrawal would have killed me without this drug. Alcohol withdrawal is far more dangerous than heroin or any other drug. Thank you VA and Librium! Along with certain vitamins and IV's of fluids and vitamins! They saved my life! I cannot stress enough, detox in a hospital that knows how to treat Alcohol withdrawal, do not do it at home!"

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I had what is known a "transfer addiction". I had gastric bypass surgery 6yrs ago to reduce my weight and become healthier. It worked...for about 3 yrs until my dad passed away unexpectedly. I took a drink with friends that had come to support me, and that was the beginning of my end. AA, Rehab, countless ER visits...and I have arrived at Librium. My doctor is optimistic, as am I. Let's hope it does the trick."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Librium does not work for me. I've tried it several times. I asked the medical staff to give me valium or ativan but they're insistent on Librium. It is heartening to read all the posts about how Librium has worked for you. Keep up the tough fight!!!"

For Anxiety "On Librium to help my cannabis withdrawal. Been taking librium for 2 days and the second day the dose was increased I feel like I had been given some kind of amphetamines or something I can barely sit still for 5 minutes and I feel like I could walk for ever or dance all night long no sedative effect what so ever, I'm currently taking 160mg today, I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Librium was great for my alcohol detox. While it didn't completely get rid of my shakes it did alleviate the nastier symptoms of my withdrawl. There was no nausea, minimal anxiety etc. Helps immensely with alcohol detox."

For Anxiety "This drug did very little for me. My Doctor prescribed it as an alternative to Xanax until a full clinical work up could be done. As a moderate to heavy drinker, he did not advise me that this is used to pull people from the disease. I don't feel like I have issues with alcoholism but it really messed me up when mixing the two. Felt stoned or comatosed. Taking the drug sober did almost nothing anyway except when I take 2 or 3 at a time and still it does not release the anxiety I have."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "My boyfriend is taking this for alcohol withdrawal. It works wonders for the withdrawal symptoms, but makes him a zombie. He is confused, unsteady on his feet and dizzy. He's been alcohol free for 3 days now and after tomorrow, I am going to take the pills away. Just my opinion."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I am 60 and tried to detox last year alone when my husband was away at work. Withdrawal symptoms made me seek help, Inpatient for 5 days, admitted with 0.00 breath test and spiking heart rate and blood pressure. Immediately given Librium. Administered in decreasing doses and intensive outpatient program (IOP) for a month. Felt great. But am an alcoholic. AA did not help. So today, almost exactly a year later I have an appointment at counselling center because I am drinking in excess again. Hoping for short term Librium and may Naltrexone(which I have never taken). Self medicating and genetics."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Very heavy drinker between the ages of 26 and 30. I stopped suddenly without understanding how withdrawals worked, and was taken the the ER. Gave me librium right away when I got there, took my vitals, and discharged me with a prescription for a week (25mg). I felt tired and weird for two days or so, but I got better each day after that. It's important to eat fruits and drink water, and minimize fat intake. Your liver health determines the health of the rest of your organs, so you will feel vibrant faster if you give your liver some love! Librium kinda made me suck at playing piano, and I couldn't really workout hard at all...easy price to pay. Withdrawals can make you feel like you're in a living nightmare. Absolutely the worst experience in the world. We should all be grateful that Librium exists to give us our lives back. No way that it deserves less than a 10. PS: NEVER use it with alcohol!"

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Recently went through another huge bender and decided enough was enough and I needed to quit drinking for good. I had cold turkey'd twice in the past with some rough times but nothing big so I figured why not taper? I messed up and it just lead to bad WDs. Shaking, sweating, anxiety, racing heart, spasms while trying to sleep that kept me up for days. I finally hit my breaking point and went into a hospital and got help. I was scared as well about how bad I was. Both other times I quit were never like this. I was of course put on a drip but I walked out with a bottle of these and instructions on the day-by-day dosage. So far it's only been a few days but all of those nightmare WD symptoms went poof. I now am committed to never drinking again, am finding a support group, and I can say this drug will absolutely assist you during bad WDs."

"Librium was prescribed to me when I came in for help with opiate withdrawal. The drug calmed me down and helped with some of the withdrawal symptoms though I'm not sure how because the chemical makeup of librium and other drugs used to aid in opiate withdrawal are completely different. Whatever happened it helped. Thanks doctor."

For Anxiety "I was given Librium yesterday in place of Ativan. I took one at noon yesterday and then worked an 8hour shift and had more anxiety than I felt I could handle. I took another Librium this morning and still have a lot of anxiety. It’s just not helping. I am not a fan of this medication."
