"I have no doubt that this has helped many people...but for me, this was absolute poison. I'd gone off Lexamil and switched to Wellbutrin 300mg for MDD. My moods are absolutely all over the place. I'll randomly get sad for absolutely no reason and for a logical person, this gets frustrating. Not to mention the strain that most of my relationships have been under because of my now explosive temper. I don't feel like the person that I know that I am."

"I used to take Wellbutrin XL 300mg @ 25 years ago. It worked great! I'm not sure why I stopped taking it, but I'm on the 150mg XL now at age 50. My doc wanted me to take it with Viibryd 10mg daily. Don't do it! Horrible side effects from Vibryd & insomnia is terrible! I am just sticking with the Wellbutrin 150 XL or possibly going back to 300 XL!:)"

"Currently on 150mg. My vision constantly involuntary blurs, I’m always sweating, my body (especially my hands) tremors, and sometimes I become extremely hyper-aware of everything around me that it begins to feel unreal. Also, I’ve been getting bouts of times where I feel really suicidal. This medication used to work for me, but now? Does nothing positive, except raise my libido."

"Increasing dose from 150mg to 300mg daily stopped suicidal ideation, but did not improve anhedonia. Increased dose associated with onset of hemidyskinesia, which diminished on lowered dosage and resolved completely when drug stopped."

"I'm on 150 mg Wellbutrin XL's, and since I've started taking them, I've noticed my dreams are extremely vivid and disturbing, I'm getting confused easily, major insomnia, which isn't normal for me by any means. Was on Prozac, then Lexapro, switched to celexa after 3 doses, and now I'm stuck with Wellbutrin. I was told to push through and keep taking it, but all of my experiences with stimulants with an amphetemine base have been unpleasant. Im probably going to discontinue it, I'd rather be unmedicated than lose days of sleep and have horrible dreams whenever I can sleep. Not a great experience imo"

"I was dealing with mega anxiety that was starting to turn into a deep depression. I got on Wellbutrin about 2 months ago. I started with 150 mg and went to 300 in a little over a week. I had minimal side effects. I did notice the first few days and after the dose increase that I felt a little buzzy and had good energy. I was concerned it would make my anxiety worse; it didn't. Unfortunately, it didn't do enough for my anxiety (which it isn't usually used for that, which is why I'm still giving it a 9/10). It pulled me out of a very dark hole, but I really needed something more geared towards anxiety. Probably wasn't the best choice of meds for me, IMO. But I really think it could be great for others especially with depression and low energy"

"I was taking this for about 6 years. From 13-18. I had a few spotty teen years where I would barely take the meds and I ended up in the hospital many times. I had a very weird and high sex drive and right when I got off it went away. I had intense night terrors and would start yelling in my sleep, I would sweat so much it looked like I wet myself. The nightmares got so vivid and intense I was confusing reality with my dreams, I would constantly have to ask people if something had happened or not. I lost weight when I was taking this regularly. I've been off for almost two years, and all that being said I think I may start it up again. It was one of the only depression meds that kept my emotions but kept the bad ones away for the most part"

"Today is my first day taking it, and I am faithful it will work. My doctor has placed me on Vibrid but that was $100 out of pocket cost. Though I did find it helpful, my insurance copay for it and my budget will not allow me to continue usage. Got off of it for 3 weeks, now starting this one. I have faith - we shall see."

"I have tried this drug for over a month. The first week it helped with depression a bit. My doctor upped the dosage. But from the beginning, I had excessive sweating and knee pain. It would not go away. I lowered the dosage, still nothing"

"This is my second week fully on it and finally tapered off of fluvoxamine. I think it’s doing okay. I’m taking the 150mg everyday, and the side effects I’ve been having are heart palpitations and increase in anxiety. I hope they go away soon :) also I don’t think weight loss is gonna work for me on this because I’m eating a lot but not as bad as when I was on mirtazapine. I think it’s been helping my mood so I can’t wait to see if it’s gonna help me during the winter when I typically get hit hard with depression. This medicine doesn’t help with my GAD or panic disorder! only depression!!! Can’t wait to see how it helps further down the road"

"So let's say back when it was June 23, I went to the psychiatric hospital. I was there because I tried to kill myself with some anxiety medicine. Then they put me on Lexapro, Atarax, Abilify. That stuff put me in a dark, bad place. I was more suicidal; I felt stuck, slow, like people were moving too fast. Then I stopped taking it completely; I only took it for a month. Then I tried to hurt myself again in October. They put me on Wellbutrin XL. I liked it; I felt energized but couldn't fall asleep on it though. But they sent me home. I stopped taking it; now I take it and it still does the same thing, makes me happy and energized. Sometimes I have crying spells, but it's okay."
