For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Bisoprolol was very helpful in reducing heart rate and blood pressure. Unfortunately, eye and facial itching as a side effect became overwhelming and unbearable. Hope to discontinue medicine and begin a replacement treatment soon."

For High Blood Pressure "My symptoms were diarrhea, light-headedness, low blood pressure, and finally swelling of my left foot and the left side of my face. I noticed that the upper right side of my lip was askew. That made me think that I might have had a mini-stroke. I went off the meds myself and I think that I was right. Three years later, I do know that the left side of my face is marginally still swollen. My doctor did not see the swelling when it was more prominent. I insisted that he change my meds."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I have been taking Bisoprolol 2.5mg tablets and Apixaban 2.5mg for several years with no real side effects. It has kept the sudden heartbeat levels that occurred previously under control very well. The only thing that I keep an eye on is the fact that I have a natural low pulse of around 50....so do not want the rate to drop lower. I Have been very pleased with the treatment."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "My doctor prescribed me 5mg concor. When I started my 208-213 bpm heart rate drops to 70-100 bpm. And also said that if this wouldn't help to drop we can make catheter ablation operation. I also test to give up the pills for 2 days then it again start to beat at 180-200 bpm. So I am good with 1 pill 5mg for a day."

"Initially I was amazed at how it helped me with other issues, anxiety and adrenal rushes. And no more atrial fibrillation issues. Taking 2.5 mg at bedtime and have been on it 2 years. I noticed that I am very tired, depressed and difficulty with concentration. I attributed these symptoms' to other factors. I felt weak and faint a lot. Then the headaches started daily, moderate at first, my eyes ached and my neck hurt. It has been 2 months now and I have a headache every day. Also experienced tingling in my arms and hands which I also attributed to overwork. I went to my GP about the headaches and he seemed concerned about my abnormally low blood pressure. He is contacting the specialist that prescribed these meds but I have had no response from them. After reading up on the side effects of these meds I am choosing to gradually taper off. When the cure is worse the initial problem, no thank you."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I’m 72 and have been taking Ziac for over 20 years to control blood pressure and fluid retention. Last year I had a bout of SVT and was switched to Metoprolol. I quickly developed swollen calves & ankles and felt poorly. Went back on Ziac and am back to normal. So I’m all for Bisoprolol HCTZ generic Ziac. 2,5/6.5 each morning works just fine."

For Mitral Valve Prolapse "My history is Bicuspid Aortic valve replaced and grafted Aortic root. Was on Sotalol for 20 years (it was mostly an antiarrhythmic with some beta blocking qualities)... but then they stopped making it. Cardiac Doc switched me to Bisoprolol 5mg daily. 1 year later: arrhythmia with a vengeance since going on this. Have also been taking Magnesium Citrate 150mg daily as per Doc. Not liking the constant funny heart beats and how tired I am in the afternoon. Going to see him soon to see if Metoprolol might be a better alternative to this."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Acute illness went into SVT - Initially given 2.5mg daily which was increased to 5mg then 7.5mg to control episodes. Things seemed to settle down and I was discharged home. Took 7.5mg daily for 16 days then was rushed back into the hospital with what I thought was major heart issues. I suffered the worse panic attack I have ever had, shaking, palpitations, crying, pacing, nausea, vomiting, the list goes on. It lasted over 12 hours. Eventually settled after other medications were given and Bisoprolol was stopped. I have had a few breakthrough episodes which are getting milder now (fingers crossed). Reading some blogs I am wondering if it is actually the Bisoprolol that has caused this event as I have never suffered from anything like this before."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Started on a half pill a day and it worked for about a week. Upped to a full pill after that but recently had the worst attack I've had in a long time. Glad to be seeing the cardiologist in a couple weeks. Going to try diet alterations instead."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I have POTS and bisoprolol works great for me. 2.5-5mg a day really helps my tachycardia, I have no side effects besides maybe a few pounds of weight gain that’s hard to come off but not a big deal, it’s not perfect but it works very well for me."

"Started taking 5 m of Bisoprolol for AF which has returned after 18 months after me being free from the condition after DC Cardioversion, but woke up the following morning with a dead left foot due to bad circulation ! I have dizzy spells when getting up and worse of all shortness of breath when doing very little (I've played squash all my life and even with AF never had this problem) I'm now going to half the dosage to see if things improve."

For High Blood Pressure "PT has been on the this drug for 1 year- he has been having sudden fall for once in one month. ECG shows RBBB but no mark of drop beat. Dr stopped concor 2.5 and told to go in for pacemaker implantaion. Another doctor's opinion taken - advised as there is no episode of fall after stoppage of concor- hence go for Holter Monitoring and Wait."

For High Blood Pressure "APO Bisoprolol, is for me is an absolute BLOOD PRESSURE BUSTER. Prior to taking this brand my average BP was on average 160/80-90. Now it is a consistent 116/68. I’ve found taking it 5.0 mgs early morning & 2.5 mgs in evening has allowed me to achieve these current results. It’s only downside is some irritation to abdomen which is a small price to pay l say. I am planning to adjust to 2.5mgs after each meal which I will trial with Cardiologist advice…Will post again after 3 months with results."

For Heart Failure "I am on Bisoprolol for 6 weeks. The current dose suits me 2.5 in the morning and 2.5 in the evening. I had many missing beats but now they have been dramatically reduced. This is a good medication because I used to take same dose of ivabradine and it reduced my heart rate to 40. I recommend this drug in 2 small doses of 2.5 each."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I had been taking atenolol 2x per day because of hypertension and an allergy prevented me from using metoprolol. Months ago, I started having AFIB occasionally. ( I was running 3 miles per day through 2014, when I developed back problems, so I was historically in good shape.) The doctor put me on Bisoprolol and it has been perfect."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I was on Propranolol immediate release for about 6 years for palpitations and racing heart at night. NEVER had any issues in those 6 years, until 3 months ago, I was given a higher dose of propranolol, I had horrible side effects, dr. put me on Metoprolol, had worse side effects, increased PVC's and STVs. Cardiologist put me on Bisoprolol. It has been 2 weeks and I still wake up around 3 am, with racing heart, and I have had a headache every single day. Hoping in another 2 weeks that it will work on the palpitations and get rid of the side effects."

For Heart Failure "I was first on metoprolol 25mg succinate for POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) and it worked well but made me gain 14 pounds in about 2 months, despite eating healthy and exercising. Bisoprolol 5mg furmate is what I was switched to, I take 1/4 every 6 hours and it works well, I do think it contributes to my shortness of breath but it’s manageable & not everyday. I haven’t noticed weight gain I’ve lost 4 pounds while on it so that’s good. Overall I’m happy with it, I just hope I can stay at this dose and it still be effective for me as time goes on."
