Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I was given this in the hospital when the pulmonary embolism It had shifted very painfully. Helped get me from a pain level or 6 or 7 down to a reasonable 1 or 2. Had been given Norco and even morphine previously but they where so strong I slept over 18hours a day. Would definitely recommend Tylenol with codeine to someone in moderate pain."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Had a secondary molar extracted and was prescribed Tylenol 3 for pain. It has not alleviated the pain at all. I have a fairly reasonable pain threshold (had major abdominal surgery 1 year ago and didn't require this much pain management). Revisited the dentist today for pain (concern with possible infection or dry socket). All is healing well so I don't understand why the entire side of my face hurts. Don't recommend T3 for dental pain management. It's making me drowsy but that's it. I've had to take 1 every 4 hours and last dose I doubled up and took 2. Still didn't help. I don't think it's made any difference at all :("

Tylenol with Codeine #4 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I have multiple back issues along with shoulders they said need to be replaced and artificial knees. 69+ years old. They used to have me on oxy and even morphine for a while. I've been with a pain clinic almost/about 10 years then boom! I am told you now have to be on Tylenol 3. What a joke. After months of playing their game, I finally was able to convince them to give me a stronger med. I really thought they would go back to doing hydrocodone, I was bumped to Tylenol 4. I am still in so much pain, things have gotten much worse thru the years and instead of staying steady with a strong narcotic I get treated like a drug seeking addict. I wouldn't even know how to get ahold of any kind of street drug. I do not associate with those people. I was born in the 50"s for gosh sake."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Got my wisdom tooth removed. I had a surgical procedure because my tooth was impacted. I had to take 3 pills within 6 hours. It barely worked, the side of my face is still throbbing and in pain. I couldn't take more because of the acetaminophen. Going back to the dentist tomorrow to get something stronger instead."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Had a bout of awful Strep Throat , pain in my left side of throat as well as left ear , excruciating pain for me to swallow! Doc first prescribed Naproxen , didn't do nothing for me except make me want to vomit and stay nauseous after I'd even try to eat something, prescribed me some Tylenol 3 with codeine and within 30 mins of having a moderately somewhat full tummy I feel the great effects of it already, less pain, but will be using until my Strep has cleared and pain has gone so we will see if the effect still lasts after a few days!"

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I am in severe pain. I believe I need 2 root canals. I went to ER and my doctor prescribed Tylenol 3. The dosage is 1 every 4 hours. Please believe me when I say the pain has not subsided AT ALL. I do not even feel sleepy. Even that would be some relief. I contacted the hospital about this and I have to go back to ER to be re-evaluated and pay another 800. The earliest I can be seen by my dentist is in another 14 days. "

Tylenol with Codeine #4 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Hi, Although I do agree with everyone that these Tylenol-anything are junk for pain (especially if you’ve been on more effective pain relievers prior for a while), I just wanted to point out to all who are saying they’re flooding your liver with acetaminophen now that the DEA caused you to switch from other ones... Norco and T4s have all the same amount of Tylenol (aka acetaminophen or paracetamol depending where you’re from). Just wanted to mention that, as well as that generic brands of all these have the exact same narcotics in them as the name brands so I’m not sure why people think they’re less effective. Maybe it’s the fillers? Who knows. Anyways, yeah I agree that the DEA has screwed everyone in the USA. Something similar is happening here in Canada and it sucks for pain patients here so bad too! :("

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Have an infected tooth was prescribed 600mg ibuprofen alternating with tylenol every 6 hrs (3pm take one type 6pm take the other sort of thing) and T3s with Codeine for over night to help me sleep. Took 1 t3 at 1pm and I'm wide awake at 2am in agony from the pain and waiting for my next ibuprofen to kick in. T3S are crap!!!"

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I have chronic lower back pain with scoliosis and some lumbar area degenerative disease. Tylenol 3 is the only drug that my Drs will prescribe. The problem is it keeps me awake all night. I consequently use it sparingly and I live in pain. I had an epidural today and pray for some relief when meds kick in."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Works great for my pain due to a torn Achilles tendon. Unfortunately with the current paranoia surrounding pain medications, good luck getting Tylenol 3. There are no doctors who will even write you a script for it anymore and will instead tell you to get OTC Advil or Tylenol."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Have suffered with Fibro & arthritis for years. Nothing has helped, including Lyrica, Cymbalta, Celebrex, Nambutome. I was prescribed Tylenol3 in late Sept. Its now December & just one Tylenol 3 a day has helped remarkably, & eliminates Nambutome 2x day plus Xanax to help me sleep. Finally, something that helps & my PA is mortified to continue prescribing!!!"

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I have been having severe pain due to an infection in my cheek from my wisdoms. I went to the Emergency because it was on a weekend that I experienced this pain and was prescribed T3's and Amoxicillin for the infection. After taking 2 T3's and waiting an hour, the pain still seems to be throbbing. I don't know if it works for different people or what, but I am for sure disappointed and frustrated"

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I developed severe lower back nerve pain which became almost intolerable and severely limited range of motion could barely walk. I was prescribed Tylenol 3, 2 tablets every 4 hours; the first day it worked great but then next day I was vomiting and became severely constipated, doctor switched me to Celebrex which did little for the pain. Trying the Tylenol with stool softener, drinking more water hoping I don't get nauseated."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I would say by itself this doesn't work very well but if you take it with an anti inflammatory like Advil or something it works better. I took this for a severe ear infection and while it didn't totally make the pain go away, it made it more tolerable."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Went to the ER for fever and strep throat. My back was hurting very badly as well. I was prescribed a few things but Tylenol 3 for pain. It makes me very groggy and sleepy and I like that because of rather sleep the day away than sit up. Makes me kind of dizzy but not too bad. Works well for pain and sleep."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I have really bad pain/fibromyalgia/osteoarthritis possibly. My pain doctor prescribed me this pill, and it has been a godsend. The only side effect I get, is nausea. I take a Zofran if it’s bad, it really helps my pain. It helps me function in life again."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I have chronic neurological pain as well as lower back/hip pain. As I have aged (I'm 52) dealing with chronic pain has evolved for me. In my 30's and 40's my primary care Dr at the time prescribed T3 as well as hydrocodone and morphine extended release. Have to say,my pain was obliterated, I didn't feel pain heck I didn't feel anything. I was a mess and had such a high tolerance that my daily life consisted barely getting up off the couch. Fast forward to the present. I now live in a different state and have a great new primary care physician. I have bee taking Lyrica for neurological pain in my feet- which didn't work well for me. So she prescribed Gabapentin 800mg twice a day and Tylenol 3 twice a day as needed."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "My wisdom tooth got infected(pericoronitis) and the left side of my face is currently throbbing. I was prescribed penicillin along with ibuprofen 600mg. The penicillin takes a few days to kick in and ibuprofen does absolutely nothing. I called the doc back and they prescribed Tylenol #3. At first I was excited to relieve my pain, but after about 2 hours into my medication I still felt no relief. I hate pills and generally don't take anything on a regular basis(2 Advil for headaches when they rarely occur) so I don't have a tolerance for medicine. Tylenol #3 did absolutely nothing for me. Might as well have not taken anything at all. Garbage!"

I am 14 and it feels kind of weird as it is my first pain medication other that ibuprofen. It works rather quickly and subsides some pain but not all. Also makes me drowsy, so I only take it at night."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "Just took 1 300-30mg as a replacement for the Davorcet which was withdrawn recently. I used that sparingly and ran out a month ago. I have rheumatoid arthritis, "fibro", osteoarthritis among other health problems so I am in some sort of constant pain daily. My Doctor is very conservative about giving me prescription pain medicine so I am to cut in half and take no more than a grand total of 1 pill a day. Not sure he understands my pain but I have to follow his orders. I have to save this for my most severe days and when I absolutely have to get things done. Use Excedrin migraine and Advil on other days."

Tylenol with Codeine #3 (acetaminophen / codeine) "I was quite sore from excessive coughing from an up and down bout with the flu. Took one Tylenol 3 tab as prescribed and was actually able to sit up and move around in bed with no pain. However, it did make me slightly dizzy with mild stomach upset. I would not take it when I have to be up and about. Took it at night anyway so I could rest. I can live with the side effects since it's nighttime and I'm in bed anyway."
