Applies to antihemophilic factor / von willebrand factor: intravenous powder for solution
Along with its needed effects, antihemophilic factor / von willebrand factor may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking antihemophilic factor / von willebrand factor:More common
- Difficulty with breathing or swallowing
- fast heartbeat
- hives or welts
- reddening of the skin, especially around the ears
- shortness of breath
- skin rash
- swelling of the face, throat, or tongue
- unusual tiredness or weakness
- tightness in the chest
For Healthcare Professionals
Applies to antihemophilic factor / von willebrand factor: intravenous powder for injection
Hypersensitivity side effects have included allergic-anaphylactic reactions including urticaria, chest tightness, rash, pruritus, edema, and shock.
Hematologic side effects have included postoperative wound or injection-site bleeding, including, epistaxis, cerebral hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, gastrointestinal bleeding, menorrhagia, hemoptysis, hematuria, groin bleed, ear bleed, shoulder bleed, anemia, and decreased hemoglobin.
Cardiovascular side effects have included chest pain, thrombophlebitis, phlebitis, peripheral edema, and vasodilation.
Gastrointestinal side effects have included nausea, constipation, vomiting, and sore throat.
Nervous system side effects have included dizziness, headache, increased sweating, insomnia, paresthesia and extremity pain.
Genitourinary side effects have included urinary retention and urinary tract infection.
General side effects have included pain, fever, abdominal pain, infection, back pain, and facial edema.
