Along with its needed effects, gentamicin ophthalmic (the active ingredient contained in Gentak) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Some side effects of gentamicin ophthalmic may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Ocular

Common (1% to 10%): Conjunctival epithelial defects, conjunctival hyperemia, non-specific conjunctivitis, ocular burning, ocular irritation

Frequency not reported: Bacterial corneal ulcer, blurred vision, eye irritation, eye pruritus, fungal corneal ulcer

Postmarketing reports: Eye discharge, eye edema, eye pain, eye swelling, eyelid irritation, eyelid edema, ocular hyperemia[Ref]
