Rare

• fainting
• lightheadedness (sudden and severe)
• shortness of breath or trouble breathing (severe)
• swelling around face
• blurred vision or other change in vision
• delayed healing of eye infection

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking hydrocortisone / neomycin / polymyxin b ophthalmic:

More common

• itching, rash, redness, swelling, or other sign of irritation not present before use of this medicine

Other side effects

Some side effects of hydrocortisone / neomycin / polymyxin b ophthalmic may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

Adverse reactions have occurred with this combination of drugs which can be attributed to the corticosteroid component, the anti-infective component, or the combination; the exact incidence is unknown.^[Ref]

Ocular

• Frequency not reported: Conjunctival erythema, itching, swelling, fungal infection of cornea, viral infection of cornea

Hydrocortisone:

• Frequency not reported: Intraocular pressure increased, glaucoma, posterior subcapsular cataract formation, optic nerve damage, wound healing delayed^[Ref]
