Applies to chlorpheniramine / methscopolamine / phenylephrine: oral liquid, oral syrup, oral tablet chewable, oral tablet extended release

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking chlorpheniramine / methscopolamine / phenylephrine: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

• fast or uneven heart rate;

• pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest;

• mood changes;

• tremor, seizure (convulsions);

• double vision;

• easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness;

• ongoing diarrhea or vomiting;

• urinating less than usual or not at all;

• feeling short of breath; or

• dangerously high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, chest pain, uneven heartbeats, seizure).

Less serious side effects of chlorpheniramine / methscopolamine / phenylephrine may include:

• decreased sense of taste;

• dizziness, drowsiness;

• dry mouth, nose, or throat;

• nausea, bloating, constipation;

• blurred vision;

• sleep problems (insomnia); or

• feeling nervous or restless.

Nervous system side effects of phenylephrine have included headache, dizziness, nervousness, restlessness, tremor, insomnia, convulsions, and central nervous system depression. Antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine and anticholinergics such as methscopolamine may cause drowsiness and dizziness.

Cardiovascular

Cardiovascular side effects of phenylephrine have included palpitations, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular collapse with hypotension.

Psychiatric

Psychiatric side effects of phenylephrine have included hallucinations, fear, and anxiety.

Gastrointestinal

Gastrointestinal side effects of phenylephrine have included nausea. Antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine and anticholinergics such as methscopolamine may cause excessive dryness of the nose, throat, and mouth.

Respiratory

Respiratory side effects of phenylephrine have included respiratory difficulty.

Genitourinary

Genitourinary side effects of phenylephrine have included dysuria.

General

General side effects of phenylephrine have included pallor and weakness.

Ocular

Ocular side effects including blurred vision may be caused by antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine and anticholinergics such as methscopolamine.
