Usual Adult Dose for Allergic Conjunctivitis
1 drop in each eye twice daily.
Usual Pediatric Dose for Allergic Conjunctivitis
>3 years: 1 drop in each eye twice daily.
Contact lenses should not be worn if the eyes are red.
Epinastine should not be used for treating irritation associated with contact lenses.
The benzalkonium chloride preservative may be absorbed by soft contact lenses; therefore lenses should be removed prior to administration of the eyedrops and reinserted after 10 minutes.
To avoid contamination, patients should be instructed to avoid allowing the tip of the container to contact the eye, eyelid, fingers or any other surface.
Safety and effectiveness have not been established for children under 3 years of age.
